Rating: Summary: It's just like honey to the eyes and ears!!!!!! Review: I saw Josh Groban in concert on PBS a few weeks ago, and just had to record it so I could watch it later. When I watched Josh Groban up close and personal, he just blew me away! Josh's voice is powerful, passionate, and full of emotion in his songs. My favorite on here is "For Always" with John Williams. That song just left me in tears at the end. It was SUCH a beautiful ballad, and Josh sang it beautifully! Others that I like are Cinema Paradiso(se), To Where You Are (another tearjerker), Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring (here again I was moved by Lili Haydn's talent) and Let Me Fall. So what's with all the negative vibes about Angie Stone? I thought she was terrific! In my own opinion, she should've done "The Prayer" duet than Charlotte Church on Josh's debut album. There aren't that many great acts that moved me like Josh Groban. This one definitely did. Keep up the good work, Josh! You have a wonderful gift! Without a doubt, there is a place in this world for you and your awesome talent!
Rating: Summary: One of life's most treasurable experiences Review: In our days on this earth, musical experiences like this, ones we can say are the best of the best can be counted on one hand. Josh Groban has produced such an experience and we are once again blessed with a musical talent that is among the best of our time and possibly of all time. Don't miss it! It's worth every penny and you'll treasure it as long as you live.
Rating: Summary: Incredible CD/DVD Review: I've had this for sometime and it is abosolutely incredible. While I understand the other users disappointment with Angie Stone's voice (it was sub-par compared to Josh Groban's), I cannot say I'd take a star away for that. Just listen to The Prayer on the original CD. I must say that O Holy Night is a new favorite of mine; his voice does the song new justice. Josh's voice is so much more powerful on this live CD/DVD than on the self-titled debut. You really see more of what an amazing talent he truly is.
Rating: Summary: josh groban Review: I didn't like that Angie Stone. Her voice it to thin and teeny, raspy raggedy and so not to my liking > She has no voice. He was okay.
Rating: Summary: Josh Groban's DVD Review: I ordered this because it came with the CD and I really like Josh Grobans voice but I ordered the DVD because my cousin is playing in the orchestra. I could do without the solo violin player in the DVD and didn't think that Ms. Scott matched Josh's voice in singing The Prayer.
Rating: Summary: A Class Act Review: Josh for his age, is in a class of his own. His concert delivers that and more. Josh is a polished singer and a great performer. Josh most definitely is David Foster's best find and I cannot wait for Josh to come up with his next cd and concert. Why is it taking so long? Josh, we want more of you!
Rating: Summary: What a wonderful gift from God. Review: I have only discovered Josh in the past year or so. Each time i hear him he sends chills up and down my body with his wonderful voice that i'm positive God has made special for him.Today i received my concert DVD with the CD. I watched the concert twice tonight each time with the same wonderful reaction of tears and pleasure of this unbelievable talented young man.If i had to pick one favorite above all that is available on the concert DVD i'd have to pick the song "Let Me Fall." The words are the most powerful i have ever heard in a song, the backdrop is breathtaking and the ending of the song plus what he does on stage (don't want to give it away) just plain makes me cry because the beauty of the song, the meaning of the words, the climatic finish is turly a masterpiece that will grab your heart, take you breath away all at the same time. No concert that i have ever seen has ever had the emotional effect on me as this one did.I hope he goes down in history as one of the greatest singers of all songs of all time. I'm not a collector of autographs or stuff like that, but i'd wait days just to shake his hand and say "thank you Josh." This is how impressed i am.
Rating: Summary: Cool & Classic Review: Good songs, great voice. Music speaks to the listener if the singer sings with his heart. Even my 5-year old niece enjoyed this concert. And we sing together on "To Where You Are" with our lung's out everytime I play this dvd. I won't exaggerate how good is this dvd. Buy it and find out.
Rating: Summary: Rare Review: Very rarely do you find a young man with a voice like this. And then to see someone of this age, singing this kind of music instead of the current fad for men his age is a rarity. Of special interest on this DVD are Josh's versions of "You're Still You", "Vincent", and "To Where You Are." The disappointment lies in the concert version of " The Prayer" which is not quite as good as the CD version. In my opinion, that is the only disappointment.
Rating: Summary: Phenomenal Concert! Review: I've been a Josh Groban fan ever since I saw his performance on Sarah Brightman's La Luna concert DVD. I was ecstatic when I found out he was releasing his own CD, and was doubly excited to learn he was releasing a DVD. I rushed to buy this DVD the day it was released, and all I have to say is the other viewers aren't lying when they're saying this is good stuff. The quality of this recording is second to none. Everything from technical quality to artistic quality is superb. Josh's style is very simplistic; he's a minimalist. However, as the saying goes: "The simplest melodies are the hardest to play." Josh truly proves that. He has just enough flair- not too much as to detract from his voice- and it's just enough pizazz to come off as classy and sublime. Josh Groban is on his way to becoming one of the greats. He is truly the only singer who's managed to unite heavy metalheads, rap fans, sugar high pop fans, grunge fans, and classical fans under one roof. I have not met a single person who's listened to him and not replied with something to the effect of "Wow" regardless of their musical preference. Such is the power of Josh Groban. Rick Dees even dubbed him "the annointed one." His genius is his ability to channel into a deep reservoir of emotion, so even though he might be singing in a different language, listeners can understand the song through feeling... and he's only in his early 20's! If you enjoyed his CD, just wait till you get this DVD and can watch him! Aside from Josh, the thing I was most impressed with on this DVD was the sound. This DVD features CD quality sound, which is a delight. There's also a whole debate about Angie Stone singing with Josh on 'The Prayer.' I'll have to admit I actually enjoyed Ms. Stone's version more than the CD version with Charlotte Church. I felt, personally, that Ms. Stone's technique was better than Charlotte's. No, I'm not saying Charlotte doesn't have talent- she is a powerhouse of talent- but experience counts for just as much. Charlotte, lately, has a tendency to waver just below or just above the actual note. She falls either flat or sharp of the note. Ms. Stone may hail from an R&B background, but she hit each note on key, and she brought a different flavor to the song, one that was very vibrant and natural. Suffice to say, I really enjoyed the change-up. To each his or her own =)
