Rating: Summary: An experience that every human being has to witness..... Review: Those of us that have been lucky enough to live on this planet Earth for the last 30-50 years have witnessed many historic events. We have seen the Industrial revolution, relative Peace on Earth, we have also witnessed the production of our history's most finely produced music. This DVD is testament to the latter. Roy has some of the world's finest sharing the stage in this concert and the result is the same with all of them. Everyone is left in a hypnotic transe. I have collected music very seriously for the last thirty-five years and this is without question the finest production that I have ever had the pleasure to sample. If you own a DVD home theatre system, you owe it to yourself to make this purchase. You too will be left in a hypnotic transe. Finally.......a production that does justice to this wonderful man.

Rating: Summary: Loved it Review: I've never been a real Roy fan, but watching this DVD is more than just listening to his music. You can get to know the man who is singing the songs and who wrote them. There is a saddness in him that comes out in this DVD.I just bought my DVD player and bought eight DVD's with it....Roy is my favorite....I've watched it several times already. It's a great late-night video. 5-Stars.
Rating: Summary: absolutely amazing concert! Review: I first saw this concert recording on the Showtime cable channel shortly after the event. This DVD, with the DTS sound, is so superior to anything that can be seen (or heard!) on cable television, that there is just no comparison. The extra features on the DVD are great too, particularly the still photographs taken before, during, and after the concert. The show itself is one of the most enjoyable I've ever seen--every one of the performers looks like he or she is having the time of his or her life just being able to perform with the great Roy Orbison. For all of us Bruce Springsteen fans who have been waiting (and waiting, and waiting!!) for a DVD of his concert and/or video performances, this is as close as we'll get until the Boss decides that he's ready to release his own DVD!
Rating: Summary: superb Review: I purchased both the DVD and CD. I can only say "ditto" to what has been written here by others. This is superb and by far my favorite DVD. As someone said in an earlier review, you can't watch this without a big smile on your face. I can't wait to get home tonight and watch it again!
Rating: Summary: Library of Congress Material Review: If anything deserves to be in the Library of Congress its this concert captured on dvd. It's so beautiful I cry everytime I put it on (which is frequently). I have about 200 dvd's and this one is easily my favorite. It is perfection. Thanks Roy.
Rating: Summary: I'm in love with the female backround vocalists... Review: ..their singing and dancing on "Dream Baby" is out of a dream. And, by the way, this video also contains the BEST performance by the GREATEST singer that ever lived. Thank you Roy...we miss you.
Rating: Summary: There's only one "Big O" Review: This is THE tape to have.... for anybody who listened to a static-y AM radio through the 60's.Roy Orbison comes through loud and clear and faithful to the sounds we all loved on his 45's,.... starting with "Only the Lonely."Put this on, with the sound in your stereo, and join Roy and his friends (you'll be surprised who "helps" in this show!!!!) in a flashback beyond compare.
Rating: Summary: A Must Have! Review: What a great DVD! A "must have" for your music collection. Wonderfully performed by a star-studded group with Roy right out in front in all his splendor. He was such a musical treasure. The video's well done, it's black & white for that nostalgic feel (normally a turnoff for me, but this one works). They even added some film scratches, which I could have done without (thank goodness they are few and far between). But the sound is why you need this DVD. The stereo track is most realistic, but of course not as enveloping as the AC-3 or even better, the DTS track. Crystal clear, dynamic, and powerful. As usual, and unfortunately, the AC-3 and DTS tracks are hyper-channeled to presumably show-off what multichannel recordings are capable of. What you end-up with is something far from "being there"; i.e. you feel like you're in the audience (crowd noise/applause from the sides) and then suddenly you realize that half the performers, contrary to what you're seeing on the video, are behind you (backup vocals/strings/whatever from the rear)! That said, it's still a wonderful DVD, one you can listen to/watch over and over. And one you can show-off your system with!
Rating: Summary: Sound And Video Review: If ever you want to listen and watch a concert this is the one that in sound and can you believe this? In black and white this one rocks. I purchased this dvd about 2 months ago because Roy is not bad. But I have played this at least 6-7 times already. My wife came home the other day and told me that I was going to ware it out. I told her I cant help it I LOVE THIS DVD.
