Rating: Summary: Great learning story Review: What a great movie to show your children. A lesson to learn, in being different; and fighting the odds. A feel good kind of movie. Picks you up with the light and cute lyrics. The music brillantly sung by Nillison. Everyone should see this movie.

Rating: Summary: Destined to be an all time children's classic Review: This children's classic compares favorably to Wizard of Oz and Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. The blend of charming songs by Harry Nilsson and the witty narration by his friend Ringo Starr makes this one of those movies you'll hate to see end. The message of the movie is clear, but wrapped nicely enough so that kids won't think they're being force fed a moralty tale.
Rating: Summary: Nilsson & Ringo Starr deliver a good message that kids enjoy Review: I first saw this movie on TV in the 70's and began looking forward to seeing it's return the same way I watched for the annual "Rudolph" & "Wizard of Oz" broadcasts. My children & their cousins have it memorized. The songs are fun and the story is great. It's nice to see it available.
Rating: Summary: my son 13 and I have the same values thanks to The Point Review: One review says "'they' didn't like him" the message I got was most liked him even tho he was different, however the Count had the power to bring enforcement of the law to bear and the people were "good law abiding people" it was a growing and learning process for all involved. May Harry be blessed where ever he is, he is loved by all the people I know who have heard him.
Rating: Summary: Brilliant cult-classic flick Review: This brilliant piece not only teaches valuable lessons to children, but it is a very deep and symbolic piece that probably means more to adults than to children. Many things are addressed, hidden as metaphors and symbolism... the Industrial Revolution, corporate America, the working class and their grip on humanity, discrimination, prejudice, and hateful ignorance... the themes go on and on. Just watch it. As I said, it's brilliant. And the fact that the songs are entirely by Harry Nilson should be enough to motivate anyone to run out and pick it up right now.... truly a timeless masterpiece.
Rating: Summary: 10 stars! Review: Oh my gosh! This was a wonderful surprise to find this fantastic video still available! The music is so wonderful and the message so positive. My kids had this and now my grandkids can have it too! Hooray!
Rating: Summary: "You don't have to have a point to have a point Sums it all Review: This movie is a great movie to watch with your children(if you have any). It tells of life in a pointed village for a un-pointed boy. He had to leave and take his dog Arrow with him. The movie has many great songs in it that go right along with the movie. A deffinet ten.
Rating: Summary: A Modern Day Aesop's Fable Review: This was a cult hit in the early 1970's that still plays well today. The music, the themes, the characters all will stay with you for days (20-plus years later I still find myself humming "...Me and my Arrow...Straighter than narrow..")It's lessons on moral judgement, values and prejudice are taught without our even knowing it. And, best of all, both child and adult will find it entertaining. It belongs in anyone's collection.
Rating: Summary: Do you have to have a "point" to have a point? Review: In "The Point" we meet and follow the experiences of a little lad named Oblio. Oblio was born with a round head, but into a pointed world. Everything in his village has points. The buildings have points, the houses have points, and the main product of local industry is, well, points. The people even have pointed heads. What is a little round-headed fellow to do?Oblio endures the inevitable taunting of school mates, and other challenges that accompany someone who is, well, different. Through it all though, Oblio remains pleasant, and polite. After all of his trials, Oblio finally learns the answer to the question, "Do you have to have a 'point' to have a point?" This movie works at multiple levels. It works as high quality entertainment for children of all ages. It has animation remeniscent of "School House Rock" from the 1970s, memorable music, including the song, "Me and My Arrow," and a great story line. This movie also works for adults concerned about issues of diversity. This movie would be as appropriate in a college classroom as in a family's front room. I highly recommend this movie to one and all. You will enjoy it thoroughly...if you can find it. 5-stars all the way! Alan Holyoak
