Rating: Summary: Funny, beautiful, and Creative Review: You know what you're in for when you order this. You want a dose of bizaare psychedelia. You want green apples (apple record company?), blue meanies, and cartoon simulacra of the Fab Four (RIP GH & JL).It's a fun and delightful romp through an innocent wonderland of slapstick, puns, verbal fencing and silliness. It's a riot, good for adults needed to 'get back'
Rating: Summary: We all love The Yellow Submarine, The Yellow Submarine. Review: BEST MOVIE OF ALL TIME! A MUST SEE! IF I WAS A TRUE MOVIE CRITIC I WOULD GIVE IT TWO THUMBS UP!
Rating: Summary: An old favorite beautifully remastered Review: Alright, I first saw this film when I was eight recorded from tv. This print is unbelievably superior to the one I saw before. The picture is clear, the colors bright and sharp, and the soundtrack absolutely shines! Sounds effects that I missed when I first watched this film comes out of the woodwork. My dad remarked that it was like being in the actual studios w/ the Beatles. The only problem I have is not w/ the movie itself, but the rereleased soundtrack. The musical score is not included but the remastering makes up for this a bit.
Rating: Summary: Great movie! Review: First of all, let me just say to a particular person who wrote a 1-star review: If you think the Backstreet Boys have more talent than the BEATLES (?!) than I think YOU are the one who's high. The Backstreet Boys are terrible and they don't even write their own songs OR play their own instruments! The Beatles had four very talented and creative minds, which is more than I can say for most of the "boy bands" of today. ANYWAY...about the movie...VERY entertaining and humorous (one of my favorite parts is when the Beatles are walking down a long hallway opening door after door, and they walk in on George meditating). Clever, original, and lots of fun to watch. I'm only 14 but I have been brought up with the Beatles being a huge part of my life (my dad is a massive fan) and I LOVE them. I think they have to be the absolute best band there ever was. The movie is definately worthwhile to watch, and even to buy. I'm getting it for my Dad for Christmas and it is a great gift for anyone who is a Beatles fan, even if you yourself aren't. This is my second favorite Beatles movie. The Point is my very favorite, but this one is awfully close. It is so INCREDIBLY creative. I definately give it 5 stars!
Rating: Summary: Honestly, now - Can any Beatle DVD earn less than 5 stars?! Review: Despite the words of a particular 1-star reviewer who had to "suffer" through Art class while watching this movie, this DVD's outstanding. It compliments the other live-action Beatle films by portraying the Fab Four in an animated medium. So now we have yet another way to look at the band while still listening to the same great music that MADE them in the first place! On top of all that, the restoration of this movie is pretty wonderful - especially compared to some other older films on DVD that look more like bootlegs than "real" DVDs. Sorry, Patrick. Anyone who considers the Backstreat Boys to be "real singers" as opposed to the Beatles, should've filled out the UNDER 13? USE OUR KID'S REVIEW FORM section. Thanks for playing!!
Rating: Summary: spinning psychedelia... the sixties at their best Review: It is a true pleasure to watch this funny, quirky, colourful movie with music by the band that is considered to be the best ever in rock music... Even though 'The Beatles' had little to do with it, they still liked it, and so do I. The more times you watch 'Yellow Submarine', the better it gets, somehow, and it's a treat to see a cartoon in which there is no violence, only sheer joy of life.
Rating: Summary: An extraordinary, exhilarating trip Review: This film, especially this DVD, is in simple terms, a masterpiece. Its mind-boggling, original sights and ideas make you feel like you've stepped into some psychadelic dream. All these amazing places that you've only dreamed about are accompanied by some of the best Beatles songs ever, including the incredible "Eleanor Rigby" and "Nowhere Man." The scenes are beautiful and meaningful if you care to delve deep enough to analyze them. There's some great humor, too. If you haven't ever freed your imagination from the confines of today's society, this film from the freedom-loving sixties will do if for you. And if you haven't been privileged to experience the Beatles yet, this film will do it, too.
Rating: Summary: One of the most innovative animated features...ever Review: Please note...The reviewer(Patrick) who gave this film 1 star lists Rosie O'Donnell and Celine Dion as favorites and was "disappointed" by Britney Spears latest release. Nuff said.
Rating: Summary: THE BEATLES AT THEIR BEST Review: This is one of (if not the best) Beatles movie ever made. It really captures that turning point in the Beatles career when the band was starting to branch out from each other and explore their own (musical) interests. Musically, you get a little bit of everything in this film, the palette ranging from the wistfulness of "Nowhere Man" to the jubilation of "Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds".I just cannot say enough good things about this film: I recommend not just to Beatles fans but any fan of great music and cinema. The animation is flawless and pairs sixties yellowish tones with plain white to create sequences that have never been able to be duplicated. Everyone should see this film: it was the marker of an era in time, one of the greatest bands of all time, and was long due for a restoration!
Rating: Summary: Worst movie EVER Review: I was forced to watch this horrible movie in my art class. I felt like I was in that class for 60 years while this movie was playing. I don't understand how anybody, who is not high on drugs, could possibly like this movie. Pokemon has far more intelligence. The characters look like they've been drawn by six year olds, the story seems like it was written by a two year old, and the music is the same old abstract garbage that the Beatles are known for. I don't think they were the great legends people portray them to be. Their music is a result of what music sounds like when you're so high that you can't tell what in the world you're doing. Their popularity is the result of the bubble gum teenagers, in the past, who would love absolutely anything you throw at them. At least in the future, when people look back on Backstreet Boys, they will look back on people who actually had halfway decent voices.
