Summary: Led Zeppelin - DVD
Review: Being influenced by thier music every day with bits and peices of Led Zepplin on the radio I realized that I knew nothing about them and decided to purchase an extra copy for myself when giving this masterpiece as a gift for a client. He's a big fan and I wanted to know why.

I humbly say that this DVD has touched me in a way that no other band has. I think of past girlfriends and the sun in their hair; grassy fields with the sweet smell of an accoustical guitar. There are times where I no longer exist in my office chair-I'm in Yosemite sitting on my trucks tailgate-experiencing love and all of its stormy patterns.

If quality of sound is what your after than this is the album for you. I work with high end speakers and of all of my demo material this one sets it self apart and people basically stop in awe of the qaulity of the performance, thier raw talent, and shocking quality in audio and video. I thank this band for taking me to a place that I oh so often forget about.

Thanks for reading. =)

Review: Don't listen to these little ignorant people that say this dvd sucks. They obviously listen to that horrible rap ****. I haven't been around to appriciate Zeppelin back in the day, but I'm glad I found out about them. Their music is so beautiful and inspiring. Nobody can not listen to Kashmir or Stairway to Heaven and not like it. Every single song on this DVD is amazing. The picture quality is great, despite what that moron Pure Garbage said. Do yourself a favor and buy this dvd. It will redefine what you think of music.

p.s to all the morons who bash us for listining to actual music, bite us, we at least know what real music is

Summary: Watch & Learn why they were described as "Light & Shade"
Review: As a true LZ fan for many years, and reading articles going back to the late '70's - Jimmy was always toying with the idea of a live LZ testimate of the band, one to do the band justice which TSRTS does not.
Well - here you have it, in all its digital glory. You can see the transformation of the band from 1970 in the intimate Albert Hall, to the deafening roar of +200,000 at Knebworth Park in 1979. What amazed me the most was when I watched the DVD of the band on stage at Knebworth, on the eve of a new day dawing of the band -and- when critics panned these concerts as over-blown hype by a band of 'over-the-hill hippies', these guys let it hang out and the playing is tight, crisp, edgy, and the sound - OOOFFFAAA! If you don't have 5.1 GET IT.
Achilles Last Stand, Nobodys Fault, and Whole Lotta Love - PLAY IT LOUD! I'm just surprised that Jimmy left out performances from 1977? LA Forum, San Diego, Cleveland, Oakland, NY MSG - I've listened to them many times, and you know footage was available...I guess we'll never know.
Regardless of the absence of this tour, the retrospective is a must for anyone who ever wanted to see this mightest group, and biggest record seller of thier day was like - LIVE!
If you love R&R, you can't miss this experience.
Don't skip any parts - you won't be doing yourself any favors.
To the young lads never able to see LZ live - watch & learn.
Jimmy Page, Robert Plant, John Paul Jones and John Bonham wrote the txtbook all others will pay homage to.
Now - you get to see what all the hype was about! Covet this DVD as my parents coveted albums of Elvis, and the Beatles.

Summary: For all Led Zeppelin Fans and Rock fans in general
Review: I cannot add more words than what the other viewers have already posted. I do want to say that this DVD simply surpassed all my expectations on what I would see and hear from this DVD. The concerts, TV appearances, etc. are excellent. I especially loved it when they showed them from the very early years when they were young, lean and mean. The later years still showed their veracity, but also their improvement on their performances(Musically that is).
It is a far cry better than "The Song Remains the Same".

Summary: A bargain at double the price!
Review: Any Zeppelin fan will love these DVDs. There is a great variety of material to choose from, mainly concert footage of course, but behind the scenes stuff as well. I found myself marveling at just how current and relevant the music stills seems, even after more than 30 years. Will anyone be buying Justin Timberlake collections 30 years from now? The sound and video quality is excellent, with none of the over produced feeling of other rock movies. It is refreshing to see the price kept to such a reasonable level. Given the paucity of Zeppelin material out there and the continuing popularity of the band, they could easily have doubled the price.

Summary: First off.....
Review: ....disregard the last idiot from Auburn's pointless slander review. Yes, I said idiot, because even non-Zeppelin fans often recognize and respect the bands scope of influence and impact. This moron is far too ignorant to understand that probably 80% of the "hip and current" crap he listens to(which probably includes Disturbed, Puddle of Mudd, 3 Doors Down and other earsores) would not exist had it not been for this extraordinary band. And since when is a band's age have anything to do with musical longevity("Only old people remember Led Zeppelin")? Oh well, enjoy whatever tripe mainstream radio tells you is "rocking", you loser.

Now onto the dvd....it is simply what we've been waiting for. Raw, rugged, aggressive and intense, it highlights a period in rock music far more exciting and fun than any overhyped garage rock today can put forth. Seeing the intensity of the live Zeppelin experience is unforgettable, from Bonzo's frenetic drumming, to Page's painful dark blues riffs, to Jonesy's solid bass and keyboard work and Plant's strong vocals. This is a must for any fan and some of the best live footage of any band, anywhere.

Summary: Awesome, fitting tribute to the Gods of Rock
Review: There's a reason why Led Zeppelin has so many fans and this DVD proves it. The music is ageless and the band has had an enormous influence in shaping rock music. The solos of Jimmy Page and John Bonham alone are good enough reason to spend your $20 on this DVD. The passion for their art and their musical genius is clearly visible in Led Zeppelin's performances. It could not come at a better time, especially when it appears that the muse for music has abandoned the contemporary rock scene.

A CD I would recommended is "Have Guitar Will Travel" which contains some of Jimmy Page's uncredited songs and some of the songs which he produced esp. "Witch Doctor" by John Mayall and the BluesBreakers feat. Eric Clapton. It will enhance the appreciation of Jimmy Page's incredible talent on the guitar and shows how he can easily switch between blues, rock and metal in contrast to the "specialist" guitarists of today.

Summary: Classic Zeppelin DVD
Review: The Led Zeppelin DVD that came out in 2003 is one of the Top 5, if not the best classic rock DVD to come out in 2003. Much to good ol' Cranky Reviewer a/k/a Mr Cranky's dismay, Led Zeppelin's DVD is a must and buries any Duran Duran garbage. I have not seen a better music DVD than this. The first disc is almost a complete show of theirs from 1970 at London's Royal Albert Hall and features classic readings of Dazed and Confused, What Is and What Should Never Be, Moby Dick, Whole Lotta Love and many otehrs. Disc two has leftover concert footage from their Song Remains the Same concert film plus killer versions of Stairway to Heaven and In My Time of Dying from Earl's Court in 1975 and footage of Zep's last British shows at Knebworth in 1979 with a funked Whole Lotta Love, a killer Kashmir and a kick-ass In the Evening. Jimmy Page did a great job restoring these concert films and mixing the sound which is how music concert DVDs should be. The off-shoot live album How The West Was Won is great too. Not only do I recommend this DVD but it should be a part of your music DVD collection.
