Rating: Summary: Amazing Review: I just barely got this, and it is phenomenal. Disc One is from their earlier years, the Led Zeppelin I through Led Zeppelin III era. The second disc covers the rest of their career. Along with the Royal Albert Hall, Madison Square Garden, Earls Court, and Knebworth concerts there are extras too. Promos, interviews, a whole mess of stuff. There are also songs from Coda on the first Disc, including White Summer, We're Gonna Groove, and Bring It On Home, plus the BBC Session's C'mon Everybody and Something Else. There is also a promo with Travelling Riverside Blues. The second disc combines great songs from Physical Graffiti, Presence, In Through The Out Door, and Led Zeppelin IV. My favorite concert section is the Earls Court section which includes acoustic songs of Going To California, That's The Way, nad Bron Yr Aur Stomp. Overall if you buy this you get songs from every period and style of their music. Nothing bad to say about it. If you are someone that enjoyed The BBC Sessions, The Song Remains The Same, or any concerts they have been to, you will love this DVD.
Rating: Summary: Why can't they get it right? Review: The DVD and accompanying CD releases are EXCELLENT. Crisp video and audio, excellent engineering. I 'm so grateful and excited that this material is finally being released after being on the bootleg market for YEARS! And that's my only complaint, why not release ALL of the Danish Television show? I have own a copy and the entire show is AWESOME. Why only the one Australia track when there are THREE tracks in existence. Why only partials of great shows when bootleggers and collectors have the entire performances? Collectors usually fall into two categories, completists or selective. Completists want everything, regardless of quality. Selective want the best available, usually from each tour . Page and Co. could release documentation of each tour every nine months, naming each release as Volume 1, 2, etc. By releasing portions of shows, they are only making the bootlegs more valuable and sought after. I know there are many Zep fans that do not have acess to the bootlegs so I truly do appreciate this release. There is no need for the overkill of Pearl Jam releasing all their shows from a few years ago as pseudo bootlegs, but a more cohesive output would have gone a long way towards pleasing everyone and making $ for the Zep. This really applies to all artists who get bootlegged. Release one live CD of an entire show and you will reduce bootlegging. Do an initial release of a new CD and include a limited edition second DC with out-takes or unreleased tracks. Or do a mail in for the second DC so you can track the buying habits of your fans. For more established artist (you hearing me Neil Young?) release one CD of each tour every year, not a partial like your Silver & Gold DVD. OK, this soapbox is starting to collapse. In conclusion, I will hang on to my bootlegs as well as this release. A huge THANKS to the Zep for putting out this great material for all to enjoy.
Rating: Summary: History Review: I think I saw Led Zepplein in Charlotte NC. Just not real sure. This double disk set is a piece of rock and roll history. Caution: this ain't no Carpenter's kinda' music.
Rating: Summary: A Gift from The Gods Review: This DVD is truly a gift from the gods---Led Zeppelin live, in color, in power-packed full DTS sound! I bought this DVD and watched a couple of hours for the first time last night. I went straight to the 2nd disk since it contains many of my all-time Zeppelin favorites from Physical Graffiti. I've seen Robert Plant in concert five times, of which only one time was with Jimmy Page, but was too young to have ever seen Led Zeppelin. This DVD in my mind has captured the essential concert experiences spanning the band's history-making decade of music that will forever remain unparalleled and unmatched. Consisting of primarily concert footage (none of the imagery found on that 'other' DVD), this DVD will take you front and center to some of what had to be their best performances. I found myself in awe of the band's energy, talent, and prowess in the performances from Madison Square Garden (1973) and Earl's Court (1975). Immigrant Song and The Ocean are absolutely incredible, and the version of Going to California is the best I've ever heard. After viewing these two performance, I was well into the groove and thought I had seen the best of Zeppelin. As the DVD rolls around to its final live performance (Knebworth, 1979), I was not prepared for the awe-inspiring set that concludes with performances of In The Evening, Kashmir and Whole Lotta Love, which basically left me speechless. This is Plant and Page at their abolute best--you will never see a better live performance. I'm not sure why the decision was made to price this DVD less ... because its value is well worth 10 times this amount. Buy this DVD now--you will never regret it.
Rating: Summary: Led Zeppelin - dvd release is awsome! Review: Simply put this dvd set is awsome! I like many of you out there own just about everything Zep that was made available both musically and visually. I have heard some rare live performances on the radio. I have seen, heard, even own (shhhh!) some bootleg material much of which I thought to be in some cases pretty exceptional. All that said Absolutely Nothing could have prepared me for what my eyes and ears were about to behold in watching and listening to this new release. In the nutshell it has everything.. Its live, its powerful, its soft, it's bluesy, its funky, its tasty, has rare never seen or heard material done to perfection, its digital & its ZEP! Did I leave anything out? As good as the Song Remains the Same video and soundtrack was maybe for its time (flawed in the eyes and ears of many including that of the band itself) this blows it away and is how Zeppelin should have actually been captured to begin with! I do not want to get into too much detail as I do not wish to spoil it for you but I would highly recommend this dvd compilation to any blues, rock & roll or music enthusiast etc. An absolute must have for the Zep fan. The only thing that quite possibly can make this release even better would be by some miracle another release! The same goes for the cd release - unbelievable! Kudo's to Jimmy Page and the producers for bring these to light and back to life in the way they have. Truely must have been a labor of love. The only down fall is that it was a little long in coming however worth every second. If this was taken from the best of what they had I gotta tell you I wouldn't mind having some of the other (how bad could they be?) Like Earls Court full length concert.. hey i can dream can't I. Also Kudo's to Amazon.. their price was excellent as was their unsurpassed service! Thanks!!!
Rating: Summary: For my hard rock fix! Review: Sometimes I just crave rock, good rock, legendary rock... and here it is. Enjoy!
Rating: Summary: WE DONT DO SINGLES! Review: As Robert explains in an interview, the band did not release singles because they felt it was important to take a look at the complete work of a band at that moment and that was only evident by listening to a complete album. Well I will say that you cannot understand the impact and fury of the sonic force known as Led Zeppelin unless you see and hear the experience live. This 2 DVD set is your chance. Insert DVD, push play, sit back. Make sure you have napkin in hand to soak up the drool as you sit there dumbfounded, jaw agape.
Rating: Summary: Oh my rock 'n roll gods! Zep fans rejoice! Review: Just when you thought there was no better way to listen or see Led Zeppelin, along comes this DVD (and the companion CD) to give Zeppelin fans a whole new reason to live. Strip out all the cheesy fantasy footage from "Song Remains the Same", go back to some ealier, better, less burned out Zeppelin and add great production values, and you have the new DVD. One quibble: The first cut on disc 2, "Immigrant Song" is clearly the audio, but not the matching video. In other words, they used some digital effects to obscure the visual performance on screen to make us think we are seeing and hearing a live performance of "Immigrant Song". I can't undertand why they would include such a low-rent trick on an otherwise remarkable DVD, but nothing is perfect. This DVD comes awful close, though.

Rating: Summary: Dazed and Reviewed Review: Cutting to the chase...This is the Stairway to Heaven. For those of you out there over 45 years old;Put down that double cappucino and cell phone and get on over to the mega-box store. It is time for you to break into the 90's and buy yourself a DVD player. It is your job now, armed with this box set,to untangle and correct the Zepmyth that this band is Heavy Metal. They spawned Metal bands but were not a metal band. Need proof? Use your scene selector function on your new player and track the acoustic numbers.Somewhere along the way, upcoming bands felt the need to play loud and louder, fast and faster but forgot to keep the creativity, sensitivity, and artistry that the Leds possesed. Teach your children well. On to the under 30 crowd.Unplug the X-box and fire up that state of the art home theatre system that maxed out your Visa card, plop down on the couch for a truly mind blowing experience. Remember that these guys were your age when they produced what could be described as The Holy Grail of rock n roll.
