Rating: Summary: Worth Every Penny Review: This DVD is strictly amazing, there is no other way to put it. So why did I give it four stars, we'll get to that. The first disc is the main attraction, a 2 hour concert from 1970 meant to be watched as a movie, and let me tell you, it is one. I could not move during Jimmy Page's amazing display of guitar innovation during Dazed and Confused, and found myself jaw open for ten minutes while watching him perform White Summer alone in the middle of the stage. John Bonham proved once again he is the greatest Rock and Roll drummer during Moby Dick. But here comes the reason I gave it four stars. Sometimes, the footage goes into still shots or slow motiont shots or speeds up, little camera tricks. It doesn't happen to often, except during the last song, but when it does, I find it insanely annoying. However, this alone cannot sway me from thinking this is an amazing DVD. The second disc, especially the acoustic performances at Earls Court, is equally stunning. I recommend this DVD to any Zeppelin fan, young, old, new, or faithful.
Rating: Summary: Perhaps the Greatest Live Band Ever Review: Tremendous release from perhaps rock's greatest live band. For a band who built its reputation largely on their live performances there has been very little live material commercially available except for the 1973 Madison Square Garden concert on The Song Remains The Same soundtrack which Zeppelin themselves described as only an average concert. This DVD makes up for that and more. All songs are presented uncut with superb sound and picture quality. Disc One starts with a fully restored 1 hour and 40 minute concert from The Royal Albert Hall in 1970. The picture quality is excellent and the 5.1 sound mix superb. Disc One also includes a 30 minute mini-concert in front of a Danish TV audience along with some other television appearances from 1969. Disc 2 starts off with a restored performance of Immigrant Song followed with 4 tracks from the Song Remains the Same Concert (full, uncut versions of Black Dog and Since I've Been Loving You, along with the previously unseen Misty Mountain Hop and The Ocean). As the picture fades on the 1973 Madison Square Garden Concert it immediately fades into the 1975 Earl's Court Concert. Here Zeppelin shows why they were leagues ahead of their 1970's contemporaries like Deep Purple and Black Sabbath with a stunning acoustic set in which they perform Going to California, That's The Way, and Bron Yr Aur Stomp. They then follow with blistering full band electric versions of In My Time of Dying, Trampled Underfoot, and Stairway To Heaven. The scene then shifts to 1979 and Knebworth where Zeppelin turns in superb performances of Rock and Roll, Nobody's Fault But Mine, Sick Again, Achilles Last Stand, In The Evening, Kashmir, and Whole Lotta Love. All in all the two DVD's included with this set include approximately 3 1/2 hours of live concert material along with about 90 minutes of extras of which approximately 55 minutes are additional live performance material. I would recommend this for anyone wanting to see rock music being performed at its best.
Rating: Summary: Bonhams solo is a drummers dream Review: Zeppelin has always been my favorite band and Bonham my favorite drummer. I am a drummer and have always idolized Bonham but never had a chance to see his true ability being too young to see them live. I had always heard how hard hitting Bonham was but you can never experience it until you see his solo in this DVD. The ferocity and intensity in this solo is awe inspiring. The 30 minute solo blows my mind. To see the speed and power he had is short of otherworldly. Neil Peart has always been a favorite of mine, but he uses many drums and a lot of different sounds to get his sound out, but bonham uses a basic drumkit and ghost beats to a level I have never experienced. As for the rest of Zep, it is truly amazing that the 4 greatest musicians of all time managed to be in the same group. After watching the DVD you realize how revelutionary and ahead of there time they were. Especially the Finnish radio show! tuen it up and enjoy.
Rating: Summary: As Good As The Hype Review: I give it 5 stars mainly because I can't stop playing Achilles Last Stand and Kashmir. Those two are absolutely thunderous and they didn't screw them up with a bunch long-winded changes. Just give it to me straight. I played the hell out of Achilles Last Stand when Presence came out in the mid 70's too. Underrated song that luckily this DVD set captured quite well. John Paul Jones plays the most incredible bass and finger plucking to accent Plant's voice at just the right time in this song. And Bonham's drums are sheer power. You can walk out of the room without watching anything and feel those bombastic drums. No other band is so driven by THE DRUMS. Sorry, Neil Peart. You may get the finesse crown but Bonham is the undisputed King of Power. Other highlights (I haven't watched all the stuff yet) is The Ocean from the Madison Square Garden footage. Those pants of Jimmy's are great. Antics remind me of a combo of Eddie Van Halen meets Ronnie James Dio (Rainbow Rising). The set from Earl's Court is first rate. Excellent sound. The only thing missing is Ramble On.... You look back at the older black and white footage and it might be a little rough on the edges but what you are witnessing is the real birth of HARD ROCK. It brings a tear to your eyes seeing the reaction from those young fans. They and Led Zep wrote the book forever baby....
Rating: Summary: Electric!!! Review: Having already purchased and watched the newly released 2-DVD's I can clearly state that my love for Led-Zeppelin has become intensified greatly. As a missionary for Zeppelin, I strongly recommend this DVD. The new "presence" of Plant, Page, Jones, and Bohnam are extremely powerful and moving, both emotionally and physically. Each member of band has his monsterous moment. From Bohnman's thunderous drum solo on "Moby Dick," to Plants painfully sensitive vocals on "In My Time of Dying," ties all of it together (Not to mention the overwhelming talent of Page and the ever so underrated John Paul Jones). At the end of this five and half journey I found myself wanting more...and you will to. Very well done in every possible aspect. Only minute drawback was the absence of "Tangerine," "Ramble On,"(both to the acoustic set) and "Heartbreaker." Buy this DVD and you are promised not to be let down. The visuals are great, the sound quality is amazing, and best yet, Led-Zeppelin can finally receive some credit and respect.

Rating: Summary: The Greatest Live DVD Ever Review: This is an awesome compilation of classic Zeppelin tunes. It is a MUST HAVE for all rock & blues fans. The mixing is perfect, and the only problem is in Immigrant Song (It's 2 seperate performances on audio & video, merged), but it just looks like a music video as opposed to a live performance. GET IT NOW
Rating: Summary: led zeppelin Review: i will never get tired of this dvd, i watch it at leat once a week........rock on led zepp
Rating: Summary: this is the motherlode Review: i had all but given up on listening to zep. they were great but i had moved on years ago. this dvd reminded me how special they were. i never got to see them on stage so this is as close as i get. i'd love to see this on a big screen. the song remains the same was ok, but this collection justifies the legend of the live zep experience. is there any more in the vault for volume 2? i enjoyed the interview from 1969 when they very diplomaticly answer questions comparing them to the beatles. the thought of comparing the two now seems absurd, but zep was near the beginning of their journey and the beatles were at the end of theirs so for a short time the two bands were contemporaries. this is the definitive visual testament to one of the finest live acts in the history of rock music.
