Rating: Summary: a bad zeppelin concert is better than a good anything else! Review: first of all, i'm only 22, so I never saw them live, which is a total shame. I hope that Page & Plant tour around one more time, cuz I want to follow them around for the whole tour! First couple of songs are by the numbers ... but still good! (they are rock n roll and black dog, i think?) The 3rd song (I cant recall the name -- is it Babe I'm Gonna Leave You) is so good it hurts! While they might play it one verse too long, wow this song was still incredibly impressive! Page is surely a guitar god!!! Then comes comes No Quarter -- this is frighteningly good! Page's solos are so strong it is spellbinding. John Paul Jones on the keys was also very, very good here. Robert and Bonzo were also great in this song. Dazed & Confused is crazy and scattered ... but still incredible! I think Jimmy has 7 different solos in this song -- all of which prove his extraordinary talent! While playing the guitar with a bow produces bizaare sounds, and that part goes on too long as a whole, this tune showcases the band's limitless potential. At one point in Dazed and Confused, they slide into that song "If You're Going to San Francisco!" Zep played it better, in the course of playing their own song, than whoever originally came out with it! The Rain Song and another song from Houses of the Holy are next (i cant remember which one). Both are by the numbers ... and very good! Stairway is Next ... it is so awesome it hurts just thinking about it! Page reaches the divine during the solo in it. The rest is kind of a grabbag ... Moby Dick, a kind of cool\kind of erratic whole lotta love medley and maybe one or two more tunes. the fantasy scenes are kind of cool, kind of corny. Even if this wasn't a great video production, Zeppelin musically was off (considered a well below-average concert) -- it still is a must-buy. In the final analysis -- incredible and i never get tired of watching it. Zeppelin at their worst towers over any and every rock band which exists today. I guess I was born in the wrong era! P.S. Definitely best on a big screen tv with a loud sound system!!!
Rating: Summary: In my opinion. . . Review: This movie is so-so. The live performances aren't that great. The in-between "movie" scenes are not that bad (esp. the beginning mafia scene) But all-in-all I wouldn't recommend buying this. . . (pause) unless you're a die-hard Led Zeppelin fan!
Rating: Summary: ball-ping but no sledgehammer Review: the movie fails in perfection because they showcase a mediocre concert by their standards and their fans. whereas the mood and settings protrayed thru out the video are definitely classic LEPPELIN
Rating: Summary: ok Review: This is certainly good by the high standards of hard rock. There are interruptions in the concert footage which I believe is unnecessary. I'm no fan of Deep Purple but I have to say its Machine Head video is the best video ever. I'm a great fan of progressive bands and this video is still considered a disappointment
Rating: Summary: Extremely creative and unconventional Review: Jimmy Page literally spoke with his guitar, therefore I think there were two singers, Page and Plant..I think this concert has to be the wildest (musically) in the history of rock'n'roll on this planet. If u haven't seen this video, u really haven't heard much of zeppelin yet, I mean it....
Rating: Summary: This is a must-have for any true Led Zeppelin fan!!! Review: Great! This video is a must for Zeppelin fans. I have been a Led Zeppelin fan for two years and I loved this video. I would definitely recommend this for a gift.
Rating: Summary: Inspirational Review: I saw this movie in the theater back in 1977 when I was 17. It blew me away then, as it does today. I am a professional scientist now, but the feeling I have now about the movie is the same as it was back then. This movie inspires me every day to do better in my career. The group was at their peak, and however many people say this was not their best performance, it is for me because I never saw them perform live, and this show is on celluloid, which means forever. I watch this movie on videotape often. "The Song Remains the Same" and "Dazed and Confused" are absolutely incredible. They take you to another place.
Rating: Summary: Best seen on a BIG screen with home theatre audio. Review: I saw this movie (3) times, when it was originally released. I saw it at a theatre that had a concert quality sound system, that included stacks of speakers next to the movie screen. It was as close to going to a Zep concert as I will ever get. A small screen just doesn't do this movie justice. The neighbors are going to be in a world of hurt when I get my big screeen TV and home theare sound system. I wish they would release this on DVD.
Rating: Summary: a good show but kind of spaced out an slow Review: ALL THE MUSIC WAS FULLY LED ZEPPLIN BUT THE BACK DROPS AND THE WILD COLORS SHOW IN THE YOUNG MAN OLD MAN SEEN WAS AS FAR OUT AS IT COULD BE FOR WHEN THE MOVIE WAS MADE I CONCIDER IT TO BE ZEPPLIN DOING THE BEST THAT THEY COULD DO IN THEIR OWN MOVIES
Rating: Summary: Could have been Better Review: A must for Led-Zeppelin fans but could have been better, a Led-Zeppelin concert was not what the film showed. It was much better than that.
