Rating: Summary: No Beatles fan should go without seeing this movie Review: I'm a Beatles nut =) I think it shows a lot of growth on the part of the Beatles. It is their first film that has a "plot" of sorts to it. Hard Day's Night was great in the respects of a documentary type movie of what it was like to be caught in Beatle mania. Help actually shows the loyal that these guys have talent beyond being cute. I think the best parts of the movie are the humor. For instance: Paul's big adventure on the floor, Ringo and John's dialogue about the "season ticket" in Ringo's soup. The movie is truly a classic. I could watch the movie 10,000 times and every single time is a brand new laugh; a new experience.
Rating: Summary: IS A FIVE STAR RATING ENOUGH??? Review: The Beatles could just be the greatest band ever and this is by far the greastest movie ever! I can never get enough of the old man on the phone "GO TO THE WINDOW... GO TO THE WINDOW" If you miss this movie you will never live a full life.
Rating: Summary: A must for any Beatles fan Review: This DVD video is more than just a Beatles movie. The music is legendary and the video is a window into the 60's and into the roots of popular music, fashion etc. The plot is rather silly, but this video is a collectors item. the plot doesn't matter. This is about the times, the language, the humor, the personalities, etc.
Rating: Summary: HELP! is a classic Review: THE BEATLES scored with this movie. Unlike A HARD DAYS NIGHT this movie had an actual plot for you to guide yourself by. A HARD DAYS NIGHT was more of a TEEN AGE GIRLS MOVIE. HELP! isn't in that catagory.
Rating: Summary: Not as much fun as A Hard Day's Night Review: Help! starts off with great promise and intrigue, but then it starts to get a little boring. For one thing, the people from the religious cult dominate way too much of this movie. The Beatles were almost always on the screen in A Hard Day's Night but there are many scenes, including the very first, where they don't appear. Also, a curious choice for the female lead. Eleanor Bron delivers a nice performance but she looks to be about 15 years older than the Beatles. On the other hand, there are some great scenes - the two intermissions, George fainting upon seeing a hypodermic needle, and the long distance swimmer. There are also some great one liners. And then, of course, there are the great songs. One last thing - listen carefully to the ending credits. At one point, it says something like "Songs by John Lennon and Paul McCartney, I Need You by George Harrison" As this appears, you can actually hear George saying "I Need You by George Harrison." This also repeats a little later in the closing credits. (I think this is because George's song "Don't Bother Me" is heard in A Hard Day's Night during the nightclub scene but that movie's closing credits only says songs by Lennon and McCartney.)
Rating: Summary: A Real Classic Review: Well, as a second generation Beatles fan (I'm 13), I say this is an excellent movie. I fell in love with it when I got it as a gift for Christmas a few years ago. Sure, it's a little far fetched, but we're talking about the Beatles here! I think it's rather funny on how Professor Foot, Algernon, and the Eastern thugs try to get the ring from Ringo. The songs are very good too. The reason why I like this film so much is because it's origional, like the Beatles' first film, A Hard Days Night. I'd reccomend this film to any Beatlemaniac willing to watch it; it's worth your time!
Rating: Summary: action packed & a great soundtrack! Review: I really like this film it's funny witty and has the best pre-mtv videos I've ever seen. A video you can watch with the kids. A definite must!!!!!!
Rating: Summary: A real Golden Oldie! Review: I know that some people my age(eleven) would think it's funny that I think a movie that doesn't have one of the current heart-throbs in it is worth seeing, but it's true, it's really good.
Rating: Summary: Beatles Rule Review: I am 27 and from India, i was in my 9th graded when my sister presented me RUBBER SOUL, and from that moment on I have been a beatles fan, Around 10 years back I saw Hard Days Night and I was in love , then i saw HELP and i was BLOWN, the movie is full of humor, energy and lots more, One of my favourite scenes is when they all are in the Loo and the baddy turns on the dryer, the best part of the scene is when Georges shirt gets sucked into the dryer, and RIngo says "Ther is More Here than meets the eyes". It's funny the way he says this. There are some people whose review i have read says movie is okay, those people must be doped, not to appreciate this movie, For Gods Sake its THE BEATLES, it dosent get any better than this,KUDOS to the Beatles and their Masterpiece
Rating: Summary: What's with the price of this DVD? Review: This is a movie I'll watch over and over. But until they bring the price of the DVD down to a reasonable figure, it'll be my old VHS tape that I'll be watching. There's way too much cashing in on the Beatles going on.
