Description:

The stylish and compact 14VL43U offers a 20-inch, 4:3 LCD screen, an internal NTSC tuner for convenient broadcast-television viewing, and a 640 x 480-resolution picture. It's an EDTV, not a computer monitor--easily moveable and equipped to render vivid images from cable or antenna feeds as well as seamless, flicker-free pictures from progressive-scan DVD players and satellite receivers. Image quality is enhanced by a four-line digital comb filter, a high (400:1) contrast ratio, and impressive peak brightness of 500 candles/square meter.

The 14VL43U goes simply from room to room, and you can set the TV on a table or mount it on a wall (using an optional wall bracket). It emits exactly zero radioactivity, too, so you can sit as far or near as inclination or viewing space dictates. The 14VL43U features Toshiba's proprietary ColorStream HD component-video inputs capable of receiving both 480i and 480p signals. Composite- and S-video inputs (with accompanying left/right analog audio jacks) ensure compatibility with a range of audio/video equipment. The built-in NTSC tuner gives 181-channel tuning for convenient broadcast-TV viewing, and a set of AV output jacks lets you hook the TV into an audio receiver for listening over home speakers.

SRS WOW sound enhancement offers a combination of three types of processing. SRS 3D creates a wide, three-dimensional sound from two TV speakers. TruBass boosts bass-frequency perception for more dramatic low-frequency effects. And FOCUS raises the perceived sound image vertically to create clearer voices, even at lower volume levels. The combination of these features dramatically improves home-theater sound. A headphone jack fosters private listening.

Its unique space-saving tilt-panel design provides 160-degree viewing angles, and the television also offers an on/off timer, parental controls, closed captioning, and a handy remote control.
