Description:
Westinghouse Digital's compact W32001 20-inch LCD television will amaze you with its ability to render sharp, vivid images from both interlaced and progressive-scan video sources. The set features a standard, 4:3 aspect-ratio screen whose dimensions match those of most NTSC TV broadcasts as well as old movies (and it's a little-known fact that black-and-white movies look fabulous on high-contrast LCD screens). The 640 x 480-pixel W32001 features an ultra-thin, 6.9-inch profile with wide, 160-degree x 140-degree (horizontal and vertical) viewing angles that makes it possible to view a clear picture from almost anywhere in the room--perfect for gatherings and family movie nights. The EDTV-resolution TV ("enhanced definition") is fully compatible with progressive-scanned 480p video signals such as those from DTV set-top boxes and many DVD players and recorders. Progressive scanning, referred to as 480p for the number of horizontal lines that compose the video image, creates a picture using twice the scan lines of a conventional DVD picture, giving you higher resolution and sharper images while eliminating nearly all motion artifacts. LCD screens offer a number of benefits over CRT monitors and televisions, including general ease of use, freedom from eye strain (no screen flickering or radiation emissions), quiet operation (no high-pitch "flyback" noise, an issue with CRT TVs), image geometry (no curvature distortion or susceptibility to magnetic interference from, say, speakers), screen life (no risk of image burn-in), space savings, and light weight/easy positioning. The W32001's exceptional 16 millisecond response time (the time it takes the screen's pixels to update themselves with fresh data) delivers crisp images for fast-action moving video and video games. The set also displays the broadest possible range of colors and--with its 450 cd/m2 brightness--produces vibrant images in most lighting condition. Westinghouse Digital's advanced PIP (picture-in-picture) functions give you everything from mixed-mode PIP for watching TV and working on a PC concurrently to split-screen viewing and the option to resize and relocate the PIP window. You can watch one TV program and any other of the set's video inputs. PIP abilities even extend to image swap and audio swap, which lets you switch the sound between the PIP and main screens without rearranging the video windows. Connections include component-video, composite-video, S-video, RF, and PC (RGB). A headphone jack fosters private listening, and the set's built-in speakers give you stereo audio (with 5 watts per channel) from inputs or broadcast programming. What's in the Box TV, pedestal stand, stereo RCA to minijack audio adapter, and user's manual.
