Summary: Could have been much better.
Review: The release of the DVD has me wondering about a lot of things. First off, this DVD was basically a bonus disc to the "Hark Horse" boxed cd set. That is exactly what it is...bonus material. Perfect for a bonus sampler when it is part of an expensive boxed cd set. Now we have an actual solo release of this DVD with a $24.95 list price which is a lot of money for a disc with little content. Sure, Harrison fans will love the Video's from the Dark Horse Years and the 4 song live set with the Eric Clapton band recorded during their Japan Tour. Those 4 live concert performances are the meat and potatoes of this disc, leaving the viewer wanting more. I ask this question, Do they actually have the entire concert from Japan, which would be the ultimate Harrison DVD, if those 4 live cuts are any indicator of what the rest of the show was like. I feel those live sequences are a teaser, and wouldn't be shocked if down the road we get an entire concert DVD "George Harrison Live In Japan"? I would say, if you are a big George Harrison Fan, you are going to enjoy this sampler DVD, but do not expect too much, because it lacks content, which could have made this a much more worthwhile DVD. I still often wonder why his classic "Concert For Bangladesh", has not been released on DVD as of yet?

Summary: Worth Having for George's Music Videos
Review: Admittedly, George Harrison's "Dark Horse Years" DVD does not deliver value for money in terms of overall content. However, it's great to have a commercial release of George's music videos, especially "This Song," "Crackerbox Palace," "Got My Mind Set on You" and "When We Was Fab." The performance clips from Japan are memorable, yet one wishes the disc included the entire 1992 concert -- and we certainly could have done without the "Shanghai Surprise" promo. "Dark Horse Years" is a mixed bag, but recommended to Harrison fans for the long-overdue music videos.

Summary: Dark Horse Years 1976-1992
Review: As a die-hard George Harrison fan, I was very pleased to get this DVD as a bonus to the Dark Horse Years boxed-set. But to release it on it's own? I do not understand this, this mainly due to the shortness of the DVD. There can't be more than an hour worth of content. What I wish they would do is; release the Live In Japan DVD and also a DVD with ALL his videos, including "True Love", "Ding, Dong", "Blow Away", "Save the World", etc. [maybe even include the Traveling Wilbury videos].

All in all, I recommend this to all his "true" fans, as it features some nice intro commentary before his videos.

Summary: Dark Horse Years... the best.
Review: I first saw the content on this DVD when it was released as part of the Dark Horse Years box set early in 2004. I have to say that it is very good. The interviews and back story to the Dark Horse Years is very interesting, and the videos from the albums are interesting pieces of George Harrison's tastes and music.

In the end though, if you already have the box set this is a superfluous purchase, and this might be more for die-hard fans, and not for the general passer-by.

Five stars.

Summary: A Rip Off for loyal Harrison fans.
Review: I like the DVD, in spite of all the material that wasn't included, but it was supposed to be a BONUS for buying the overpriced box set. I already have all of George's stuff on vinyl and CD. I could have bought all the remastered CDs for half of what the boxed set cost, but I forked over my money once again to get the Bonus DVD. Now they sell it individually? It's a slap in the face for the diehard fans.

If you didn't buy the boxed Harrison collection, get the DVD. I think they should give those of us who bught the box set a refund. It was bad enough getting ripped off by Capitol when they butchered the Beatles albums in the U.S., now Dark Horse is ripping the fans off? Shame.

Summary: Been waiting a long time.......still waiting!!!!
Review: This is a very weak release!!! The interviews and/or commentary between videos are just OK but, this DVD is lacking content!!! There is not that much here at all!! What about a release of the full Japan show or some other concert????
