Summary: Switchfoot: Live in San Diego!!!
Review: I have been a Switchfoot fan, since forever. They originated here in So. Cal, so it's awesome to see amazing talent come from over here! I was so close to seeing this concert live, but unfortunately could not make it (grrr). I havent seen the dvd yet, but plan on buying it later, but from what I heard, its the next best thing to actually seeing them live. Switchfoot is an amazing band who deserves all of the recognition that they are (finally) getting. One of my friends actually went to this show and said it was really awesome, and I am sure with the added extras, it's even better. Go buy it, and buy all of their cd's while you are at it. You wont be disappointed!

Summary: It's a Big Letdown
Review: With their latest album, The Beautiful Letdown, climbing the charts and grabbing mainstream attention, Switchfoot is the latest rave. Sadly, their first concert video is a bigtime letdown. Capturing a rock concert for the small screen is no easy task, and the wide angle shots and close-ups just aren't enough. The video fails to capture the sweat and pulse of a real concert, though the audio is worth a listen (select tracks available on iTunes).

The boys should have sprung for the textured look of film as opposed to video and learned a thing or two from bands like U2 about staging and framing a shot. Of course that's a lot to live up to. We could just enjoy the DVD more as a live recording and turn off the picture.

The extras include the "Meant to Live" video (ho-hum: band rocks hard while some guy literally cuts down the walls -- ooh, deep!), a behind the scenes look at the video (even more ho-hum), and a short interview with the band where they speak candidly about faith and art.

Summary: The Best DVD ever!
Review: A better sounding band, i have never heard! This DVD takes you into the full, live-concert experience. Not only that, but it comes with interviews, backstage footage and a behind the scenes making of the "meant to live" music video. Is it worth the money? You bet.

Summary: These guys are AMAZING live!
Review: This band is so good. I got hooked on them when I saw them live a few years ago, and being a musician myself, I was blown away. I am normally not very impressed with bands that don't play very well live, no matter how good their recorded music is. Switchfoot literally plays their recorded music even BETTER live! These guys have a great unique sound, and their energy at their live shows is just amazing. The DVD totally captures the essence of their live shows, especially since they are playing in their home town of San Diego. Check out their music, and if you like it you simply HAVE to see them live. And, if you can't get to see them in concert, this DVD is the next best thing!

Summary: Awesome!!
Review: I've already watched this DVD a couple of times since receiving it in the mail and it's truly awesome!!

The cameras were able to capture some great angles and put all together they really make you feel like you're at the concert on every level (from front row, to backstage). The lights compliment the stage, the sound is excellent, the hometown crowd is energetic, and the Switchfoot guys put on a great show all around!

I thought the extras were a great addition to the DVD as well. The interview is very well put together, and gives you more insight into the band and its members. The "Meant To Live" video is so rad, and the behind-the-scenes segment is very funny. Surprisingly, I really enjoyed the photo gallery and how it was put together. Usually I find the photo gallerys on music DVDs boring, but the awesome pics put together in slide show form with the instrumental version of "This Is Your Life" really make an enjoyable few minutes.

I definitely recommend this DVD to anyone who likes Switchfoot, or to anyone interested in checking out a really great rock band with true passion for what they do.

Summary: Switchfoot Live Rocks!
Review: Sweetly passionate; high quality sound- If you haven't experienced Switchfoot, you're really missing out!
Grab their new dvd "Switchfoot: Live in Sandiego" while it's in stock- if only for the fact that it includes sets from The Beautiful Letdown (a v. awesome & soulful cd! <3) As you sway and croon out the lyrics along with the band, you'll wish you were 'live in SanDiego' too :)
