Summary: Disappointed
Review: I found this vidio to be a great retro trip. I had almost forgotten how good the music of this group is and how outrageous the band members are. I wish there were more vidios available. The color and sound reproduction is also great.A good buy for the money.

Summary: Disappointed
Review: I have always been a fan of Dr Hook and the Medicine Show's music, but this has to be one of the WORST music DVD's out. The only reason I gave it 1 star is because you can't rate it a 0 star. Save your money and buy something else.

Summary: FABULOUS and EXCELLENT
Review: I have just seen the fabulous tv-show from musicladen, Germany 1974.A Excellent Show by Dr.Hook and the medicine show. A must, a real oddball for all Dr.hook fans all over. The brilliant sceneshow of Dennis Locorriere is a sight. It really answer all my expectation indeed. Truly i recommend it for everybody

Summary: Forgotten but not Gone
Review: Old Hippies never die...they just flash back. I mean, how much can you milk out of a band whose only redeemable song was "On The Cover Of The Rolling Stone?" (In all honesty, the "lead guitar solo" on that song is almost the greatest guitar solo of the 70's, surpassed ONLY by Ariel Bender's solo on Mott The Hoople's "The Golden Age Of Rock And Roll.") Where is a Musikladen Mott The Hoople concert DVD, eh?

Summary: .........The Doctor Is IN!!!
Review: When I first heard "Sylvia's Mother" in the early 70s, I thought it was kinda drippy...yet catchy. I bought the first LP and couldn't believe what these same guys were doing. Songs about Swamp Witch Queens, Makin' Out, Dopin' Out. THESE GUYS WERE WILD!! Wild and Funny! Other great whacked-out LPs followed."Sloppy Seconds","Belly Up", the band went broke...recorded an album called "Bankrupt" and made good again....and then something terrible happened!! They cleaned up their act and went MOR. Gone were the shaggy manes and scraggly beards....along with much of the exitement. "Sexy Eyes","Sharing The Night Together" and "When You're In Love With A Beautiful Woman" were no "Acapulco Goldie", "Cover Of The Rolling Stone" or "Get My Rocks Off". I am delighted to say that this DVD (that just came in the mail from the folks at Amazon) has the old, insane, totally out-of-control Dr Hook And The Medicine Show let loose live in a TV studio in Germany in the early / mid 70s. A pack of lunatic Alabama Wild Men going through some of their early repertoire with total abandon, uncensored, anything goes...and boy, it sure does. People who like the AM Radio, middle-of-the-road, cleaned-up Dr. Hook will probably find this studio rave-up a little unsettling and undisiplined...needless to say, I LOVE IT! A pack of sweaty, rock'n'roll hillbillies singing, screaming and yodeling their way through 9 early numbers with narely a clunker among them. Highly recommended for "true" Hook fans.
