Summary: depeche mode - fast...fashionable...and fabulous!
Review: I have seen this title many times, and as a devoted Depeche Mode fan, I "just can't get enough"! ...It was definitely nice to see all of the videos again ("Strangelove" has always been my favorite), but the short films both before and after are really wonderful. To hear the band members' comment on their perception of what Depeche Mode is, where they've been, and where they want to go...that alone should make any fan (of Depeche Mode, or just the whole genre of electronic music) run right out for this one! An amazing compilation...simply the best from the best.

Summary: Beautiful Videos for Great Songs
Review: I received this item as a gift a few years back and it was a perfect match. I do not own any other music videos on tape, but for anyone who enjoy hearing Depeche Mode (namely the 86-98 singles) should pick up this tape.

I recall back when I fell in love with Depeche Mode, oddly enough from seeing the Enjoy the Silence video on Mtv some 10 years ago which led me to buy the Violator album (my personal favourite in a series of great CDs).

Though it isn't something that has a lot of replay-ability, the 86-98 videos are a must-have for any hardcore DM fans. Personal Jesus, Home, Never Let Me Down, they're all there and despite some of them being made in the late 80s, they still top many of the deplorable videos being show on Mtv today.

Summary: A Great video watch from a person stuck in the 1980s
Review: I think Depeche Mode were a very underrated group of musicians
From the 1980s through to the present. They were a groundbreaking
British techno-pop group, that some people were not ready for and
therefore didn't apreciate.This quartet from a london suburb'who
took its name from a french fanzine or magazine were popular mostly with the british dance crowd in the early 80s.they didn't really make their North American debut untill
late 1985,with their modest hit "People are People"(Which isn't
included on this DVD).And in 1989 they released a film\concert
album at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena California, titled "Depeche Mode 101,directed by DA Pennabaker. There is one live video taken
from this concert which appears on the DVD,titled "Everything counts",which was popular at the time,I think it still looks good
today on DVD ,even after fifteen years.

This video collection captures the groups performance of the period from 86-98 as described in the title of the DVD .This DVD contains 23 videos in a total of two hours ,plus some short film at the end of the DVD ,also included are some videos from their two big albums "Violator" and "Songs of Faith and Devotion"in
the early 90s.

What i think is great about the DVD is that the better videos
are the earlier ones ,up to and including 1992.

From 86-92 i thought they were great,But from 92-98 the band were not as interesting ,I found that during that period ,the
videos looked and sounded the same ,so about half of the video
is top rate,However the sound and picture quality is excellent
all the way through. I would recommend this DVD to any Depeche
Mode fan .If you are looking for something earlier than 1986
then this is not the right DVD for you.If you want something from their last album "Exiter" live, you should purchace the DVD
"One niht in paris.

Summary: awesome
Review: I was so happy when the album came out, and even more excited to find the film. It is a great collection of 15 years of work from very influental artists. I have been a very dedicated van as long as I can remember. I really liked the format. mixing interviews with the videos. It is not always easy to find Depeche Mode videos, or interviews. The grainy texture mentioned by another reviewer I think is intentional, and i did not find anything wrong with the sound quality. The videos are creative and artistic. Intresting to watch even if you don't care for the music, but being Depeche Mode the music is still the best part. Overall I thought it was great, and would encourage all to check it out.

Summary: Surprised by negative comments
Review: I was very surprised by some of the negative comments. This DVD is a must for any REAL Depeche Mode fan. It features all of their videos and a short documentary. Don't know what system the other guys have got - it cam blasting through my hifi fantastically.

Summary: Awesome
Review: I've heard some people whine about image quality, but then you have to remember how old some of these videos are... Granted, if you are buying this DVD because you *expect* superior quality you will be disappointed, but if you are a DM fan, and want to sample their videos to go with your favorite songs, this is a must have (image quality will be an afterthought). And you get a lot of videos too, so not just a few choice offerings here.

Summary: Great Music, Great Band
Review: If you are a fan of Depeche Mode, this DVD is a great addition to your collection. The songs are great, the sound is great (though as someone mentioned, the mix is 2 channel stereo, which is fine with me since I don't have a prologic receiver, but I digress). I also enjoyed the inteviews that bookend the videos--they contain many interesting details from the band members and producers. Check it out!

Summary: Depeche Mode the videos 86-98
Review: If you are a true DM fan, you have got to get this DVD. Other reviewers criticized this DVD for having limitations as though George Lucas produced this in Dolby 5.1. MTV videos from 15 years ago are not digitally mastered in Dolby 5.1, and neither is this DVD nor is it even possible. THis is an EXCELLENT compilation of 20 videos that were once played on MTV when MTV was worth watching! Buy it, you'll be glad you did!
