Summary: The meat and potatoes of metal. Meglamica fans look away.
Review: After all these years of living in the dark, they still rule the metal scene. When meglamica was putting out the "black album"in 91'. These metal-heads put out "horrorscope", you guys know what im talking about. This dvd kicked so much (rear-end), i needed ice in the morning. It covers all of there albums. 20 plus songs, a second disk with a tons of did you knows and interesting archival footage. A must have for any self respecting metal head. keep wrecking your neck. By the way the "DTS" audio version is sweet. One of the few dvd's that picks up the bass guitar cleanly and distinctly(a rare thing).

My only complaint was it's filmed in pan & scan. Come on anamorphic widesceen(the futures clear and i can hear them coming.)

5 stars none the less.

Summary: The video you've waited for
Review: Anyone familiar with Overkill knows that live is where they really shine. And anyone who listened to real metal (not Poison) in the '80s should know about Overkill. Unlike Metallica and Megadeth, they haven't mellowed or sold out, just continued to evolve and sharpen their metal.

This DVD is the best look at their live show that we've ever had outside the venue itself. My only complaint is that Skullcrusher wasn't one of the songs in the set.

Summary: Metal at its utter best
Review: Being now 42 yrs old I thought I have mellowed over the last 10 or so years. I pretty much stopped listening to extreme metal quite a few years ago and even sold almost all of my old records and cds of bands like Slayer, Testament and (kill me!) Overkill.
A while ago I stumbled over these reviews of this DVD and considered buying it, but subconsious doubts kept me from doing so until last week, when I thought: what the heck, I could always take it back, if it's not to my liking.
Well, let me tell you, the only way this DVD gets out of my house is to steal it. What show, what energy, what fantastic set.
As soon as Necroshine with its powerful hooks started blasting out of my speakers it nearly blew me out of my chair and Thunderhead straight after blew my HM mind. 'Blitz' is a phenomenal front man and the band plays as tight as it gets.
The sound is so monstrously powerful I couldn't help but turn it up to a level that had me worried that my neighbors might call noise control. Song after song these guys played as if it could be their last show. I even enjoyed the light show, which at times features extreme flashes which do nothing but enhance the effect of the music.
Also enjoyed the insightful documentary, which features a lot more concert footage new and old. Quality is not always great, but what should one expect. You don't have a professional recording team at every concert and that they included all of that is a great bonus.
Bottom line: This DVD made me feel young again and puts me into a tricky situation. I feel the need to get a lot of old metal CDs back, especially everything Overkill.
BTW: how unfair is it that greedy have beens and traitors like Metallica make a fortune solely on reputation after outputting one crap record after another, while honest bands like Overkill who stay faithful to their sound and their fans struggle to find any commercial recognition. Anyway, enough for now, just go out and buy this astonishing DVD if you havn't already and support true music. NOW!!

Summary: What metal is all about!
Review: First rate video and sound quality captures a band that hasn't let up in 20 years. The only other band with the same age I can say this for is Slayer. It was great seeing footage of Overkill from the early years with the original line up. I've followed these guys since 1987. They're better in some ways now than they were back then. Go buy this now!

Summary: A True Metal Band
Review: I was at the show so to see it after on DVD is killer, but that's not the point. This is one of the last great bands that have not sold out and can still write a record. This DVD has it all for an Overkill fan or any fan of Metal. If you have never heard of Overkill this is a great place to start. The first DVD is the concert from start to finish, the 2ND DVD is a priceless documetary on the bands history that really tells the whole story of the band from the start to present. So what are you waiting for buy it now.

Summary: Best Live band !
Review: I was at this live concert recorded in Asbury Park,NJ in March 23,2002 and as always with Overkill it kicks ...! Obviously dvd does not have all the concert but is a great overview of them and their great music live! This is a MUST for any TRUE metalhead if you can't get to see them live!

Summary: BUY THIS DVD!!!!
Review: Normally, I'm not a fan of live releases, whether they be CD or DVD, since most live albums don't seem to do justice to the band being profiled. Overkill is definitely an exception to this. Anyone who has ever seen this band live, knows what a killer show they put on and this DVD captures that live experience perfectly. It would be worth the purchase price even if it cost twice as much. Go get it. NOW!
