Summary: Without the orchestra it would be five stars
Review: I was surprised to read a criticism of the video, I thought it was well done. The sound is superb and song selection solid until the last three tracks with the orchestra. Nathan East is awesome and there are the usual hangers on like Phil Collins but he was not too distracting. The video of Clapton's fret work was impressive. All in all well worth buying but I would have liked to see 3 more numbers with the blues band rather than the orchestra as well as allowing Buddy Guy to shine more.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: This DVD is awesome if you play guitar
Review: I was trying to figure out how to play the solos by listening to the CD and getting really frustrated. Then I saw the video and within an hour I learned about 20 new licks. Like quez said it would have been cool if they put "badge" on it.

Rating: 5 stars
Summary: perfect for the precise eric claptonist player.
Review: If you have a Rock Band this book will take you to whole differernt level. The songs are great and who wouldnt want to learn from the the great clapton. This is perfect for the advanced players to really experiece. once again i pay my homamage to the great and one and only god, slowhand, cream of the crop, Eric Clapton

Summary: 24 Nights are "Gone"
Review: Instead of 24 Nights this DVD should be titled "Gone": Songs "Badge" and "Hoodoo Man", GONE; Steve Ferrone's drum solo in "Sunshine of your love", GONE. If you are looking for image, go for it, if you want sound and "completeness" do yourself a favor and buy the audio CD (2 CD Set)

Summary: The video editors don't get it
Review: Like the others here, I wanted to see ERIC. I already have the CD - which is great. The video, however, doesn't always have the same exact version as the CD. Case in point - the best guitar solo on the CD, Pretending, is totally different on the video, and in fact much worse. What are the people who make these videos smoking? Just show use the musicians, hold still with the camera, and DON'T DO ANYTHING. Every time I watch it, I come away disappointed at what could have been.

Summary: Clapton
Review: love the music, however the quality is incredibly poor. grainy and difficult to see with the dark stage lighting. would recommend you puchase the unplugged instead.

Summary: Awesome!!!!!!!!
Review: One of the best concerts, I have ever seen! It's Clapton at his best. Quality is good, considering it's from early 90's. Wish I was there live, but this is next best thing.

Rating: 2 stars
Summary: more misses than hits
Review: The DVD was just a copied VHS version, no 5.1, no additional features. Johnnie Johnson was good on the Blues set, but Cray and Guy just play backing parts. For diehard Claptonites only.

Rating: 3 stars
Summary: Excellent music but video lacks focus
Review: The musical performances in this video are very good; Clapton shows his blues guitar mastery on this soundtrack. The mediocre rating I give is due to the videography. The image quality is excellent but the editing stinks. My objections to the editing are twofold:

1) The video tries to include other members of the band too often and the focus on Clapton is often lost. I bought the video to see CLAPTON.

2) Video shots of some of the other band members show them "getting into the music" a little too much. In other words, it looks fake. I would even go so far as to call it "hotdogging".

Compare this production to the much more straightforward but effective presentation of Stevie Ray Vaughan in the "Live at the El Macombo" video and you will see a glaring contrast.

In summary, it is too bad that this excellent soundtrack was marred by its failure to focus adequately on its main attraction- ERIC CLAPTON!
