Summary: This one is a keeper.
Review: This DVD has just about everything you could want. It looks good, sounds good, and the band stays true to the past sound. No "Vagas-screw-up-your-own-material" songs on this one.It is a treat to watch. Amen.

Summary: Johny is no Ronnie !
Review: This is...well...a good DVD, a must for Skynyrd fans, but I was dissapointed by the way Johny V. Z. sings, he lacks the energy necesary for being a Lead Vocalist for one of the classic rock bands of all times. He looks childish and wimpy considering the band he plays in, you can sense that he really DOES NOT takes his role seriously.

How sad is to notice that Artimus Pyle is missing in the drums, he was the beat of the heart of Skynyrd.

But after all...it is worth buying, the two new guitarists really know how to play.

But...wow... I can not believe how Rossington turned to be ... an overweight, emotionless guitar player, and the back up singers are not worth comparing with the originals that died in the plane crash.

But after all, I repeat...a must for Skynyrd fans.

Summary: SIMPLY.. PERFECT
Review: This review is both for the steel town cd and the dvd. I don't
know what to say, each time i hear the cd / watch the dvd, i get goose bumps. Never seem to get enough of it, either in my car-cd or in my 42-inch home theater. All the songs are A-1 and i should admit that the acoustics / mixing of this lyve album are perfect and equivalent to studio recordings. The three guitars are crystal clear (Rickey's guitar takes me back to Blackfoot days, Hughie is damn fast and accurate and.. Gary -man- can he make his guitar speak - especially on 'gimme 3 steps'), Billy's piano is super and the drums / bass combo are just right and steady. No comment about Johnny's intense voice which (i must say) is harsher than Ronnie's and personally i like it better. These guys are doing everything 'eyes closed', smiling, looking & talking to each other, they make it seem so easy / without sweating - how the hell can they be so relaxed? I have watched the dvd / heard the cd 100 times and still cannot find a musical error / glitch in it. Sometimes i wonder which Skynyrd line-up was the best, the original one 25 years ago, or the present one. I recommend 'lyve from steel town' 100%.

Summary: ALMOST... PERFECT
Review: This review is not only for the steel town lyve cd, but for the dvd as well. All the songs are A-1 and i should admit that the acoustics / mixing of this lyve album are v.good and equivalent to studio recordings. The three guitars are crystal clear, Billy's piano is super and the drums are just right and steady. No comment about Johnny's intense voice which is harsher than Ronnie's and peronally i like it much better. I have watched the dvd / heard the cd over many-many times and still cannot find a musical error / glitch in it (10/10), although the picture is 8/10. Sometimes i wonder which Skynyrd line-up was the best, the original one 25 years ago, or the present one. I recommend 'lyve from steel town' 100%.
