Summary: Better luck next time
Review: As a long time listener of Depeche Mode I was very disappointed with the sound of the DVD. I really thought that Dave sounded like garbage. The stage show was pretty good but I couldn't get over their voices. I feel that 101 was a much better video than this one.

Summary: Dave Gahan Does not get Better than this!! Fantastic!!!
Review: This DVD Takes you back, then brings you into the future. Dave Gahan has never looked this good or sounded so strong. Martin Gore, is groovin' with Dave, but more importantly out in front, one with the audiance, something that is rare to see. Martin sings "HOME," and it is so smooth. The lighting, stage and guest artists make this a must have for all Depeche Mode fans. I got such a thrill out of seeing Dave so vivacious! So alive. DM has changed and evolved. To see Dave with so much energy and charm, it is breath taking. The mass of thousands of fans, all moving and singing with the band. I have been a fan for 22 years, and you can see how Dave "Shines" for Martin and how Martin loves every single minute of it. The collection of songs are a perfect mix. If you are a fan in the least bit, add this to your collection. It is simply the best concert performance I have ever seen. The performance for this two night concert in Paris, is spectacular. You will not regret the purchase. We should all be thankful that Dave is healthy and healing. The depths Dave went to, to find himself, were not in Vain! If you have not followed then in a while, but are an old fan, this will rejuvinate you. It is refreshing and new, although some of the material is older. There is a renewed spirit, and Anton Corbijn really pulled this one off. It is a DVD, you will crave to listen to and watch, again and again! It is quite addicting. ***** Excellent!!

Summary: Audience Is Absent....
Review: Having been to the concert in Phoenix AZ and a long time fan of DM, I was very excited to savor the "One Night In Paris - Excitor" experience on DVD. As I began to view, something seemed peculiar. I realize that concert performances aren't perfect and polished, however, something seemed strangely "un-concert" about the DVD. Both my wife and I realized that every time Dave or Martin began to sing (which, of course is 90 percent of the time) the audience noise is "potted" down to an almost mute level. This makes for a very awkward viewing/listening experience. When I purchase a concert video, I hope to at least get a small feel for what it's like to actually "be there". "One Night in Paris" feels like a concert tweaked to be a music video; which isn't very flattering to the artists. I wish they would re-release this WITH THE AUDIENCE present; then replace my copy free of charge. Ultimately, Dave and Martin did what they do best. However, the studio really biffed this one.

Now I can only hope they release the concert "Songs Of Faith And Devotion" on DVD. On SOFD, the audience actually gets to participate.

Summary: I wish I could return this DVD
Review: I am a big fan of DM and saw this tour in Toronto, Canada. But on this DVD, Dave looked SOOOOOO exhausted and sounded REALLY bad! I can't believe it. The DVD is a huge disappointment. Though the picture quality is good, the sound is very bad. When I saw them live in Toronto, I still remember how much the crowd was into it and how much better Dave sounded. But in this one, everything looks forced and boring! I wish I could return this DVD!

Summary: Still Going Strong...
Review: This is a really good show, and I'm not displeased that Depeche Mode omitted a lot of earlier material. See 101 if you want that. This showcases most of the last 10 or 12 years. Dave Gahan sometimes sounds absolutely terrible, but at others he's good. An example: I really don't like the song "When The Body Speaks" on the Exciter CD...but live here it came off REALLY well! At other times songs sound iffy. Martin Gore does well...but what's the feather contraption on his right shoulder? He's an odd bird, so I guess I'm not too perplexed. I like the background videos during some of the songs. Depeche Mode is more visually interesting with the additional musicians, and the sound is fuller. The extra DVD has some great stuff on it. I would have like to have seen "Clean" or heard "I Feel Loved". I'd say if you absolutely love Depeche Mode, get this. I'm glad I did, and I've like them for something like 15 years. If you're not a die hard fan, skip it because it has moments you may not be able to forgive.

Summary: Dave is a god and this DVD Rules
Review: I am a huge D-Mode fan and this DVD does not disappoint. I have seen them twice in concert and this a great DVD to have. I feel like I am in concert too. Dave Gahan is the sexiest thing and the DVD only enhances this. Get this DVD!

Summary: Such a GREAT video concert!
Review: I guess i've watched this concert about 6 times now and it's gets beter each time! I don't know what the other people are hearing that say the sound isn't good and that Dave's voice isn't good. I'm wathcing it on my sony laptop with headphones and the sound is fantastic. A singer's voice does change with age, but Davie's voice is like aged mellow wine. I thinik his voice sounds extremely well. It's really refreshing to see a singer pour such emoition and soul into every song sung. I"ve seen several bootleg videos of this tour as well and Dave consistently interprets Martin's songs with all his soul. He seems to really enjoy singing to his fans. I'm so glad Dm and Dave are still around and sounding so good. And thanks to Anton too for making souch a great atmosphere. What a great collaboration of writer/singer, main singer, director and other band members. Such great songs with such great presence. Thank you for putting out such a marvelous dvd!!

Summary: beautiful music, beautiful concert
Review: I am so glad this DVD was released. I origionally saw "One Night In Paris" on pay per view and was disappointed I would only see it that one time. Thank goodness this DVD was released the music is so powerful and sounds so amazing it's just undescribeable. It's a wonderful mix of new and old music. There's a whole seperate disk for behind the scenes stuff which is truely facinating! I counted down for a month until this DVD would be released and now that it finally has I watch it no less than once a week. This DVD is good enough to make me want to buy a big screen tv and surround sound system just to get the most I can out of it!
