Summary: Cowboys from Hell that don't let up!
Review: As a native of Dallas, and a Pantera fan, I enjoy seeing the club footage shot in "The Basement". Pantera are relentless in this footage of life on the road. I enjoyed the live music footage the most, and though I rate the DVD highly, I wish it had an option to only view the music, and not all the antics everytime, though they are fun to watch the first time through. I would say any Pantera fan would be pleased to own this in their collection!

Summary: THE HOLY GRAIL OF DVD'S!!!!!
Review: Before Jackass, before Tom Green... there was Pantera. The greatest heavy metal band in existance and some pretty funny people. This has got to be the best (and funniest) DVD out there. Not to mention it is about my favorite band: the one and only PANTERA! Did I mention that they were my favorite band? Anyway, this DVD includes all their videos (excluding the ones for Reinventing the Steel. Those will probably be on video #4 which is in the works). Anyway it also includes some good live footage ranging from the old days of doing club tours to the big arena tours. Other than that it is just LOADS and LOADS of home video footage shot backstage and on the road and it has to be some of the funniest stuff I have ever witnessed. Its them breaking things, getting drunk, doing stupid stuff, ect. Its just 4 hours of greatness that will change your life forever. Look for cameos from Black Sabbath, Marilyn Manson, Rob Zombie, Trent Reznor (one of the funniest parts on the whole thing), Rob Halford, Prong, Alice In Chains, and more metal stars. Other highlights include the whole "fake hand" segment, the whole thing with the stunt dummy, all the footage of them on airplanes, the Japanese tour... hell, the whole thing is great... It even features Twiggy (Marilyn Manson bassist) throwing up. WHAT MORE COULD YOU WANT?!!! The only bad thing about this DVD is that there is no scene selections...... But other than that it is great. This DVD cracks me up every time I watch it. Hopefully video part 4 will have scene selections. Anyway go buy this. and get part 4 when it comes out. I can't wait.

Summary: The worst music DVD I've ever seen.
Review: Before you immediantly vote "Not Helpful" (which I'm sure most of you will do without even reading this), I'm actually a fan of Pantera, which is why this DVD upset me so much. One big problem I faced was that there were no chapter breaks, meaning that you had to watch each hour-long video in one sitting. Those who just want to automatically watch the music videos will have to fast forward through the whole thing just to get to them.

The main attraction of this thing is the video content itself, in which case, "Vulgar Videos from Hell" isn't very good. We get three hour-long videos which show the exact same stuff: the band members making complete fools out of themselves. They throw stuff around, they cuss at each other, and do loads of other boring crap that no one cares about. This kind of stuff is a little interesting for about 15 minutes, but it becomes unbearable at the end of the hour. I really can't believe I paid $34.99 for this thing. What a waste.

Summary: Dull, even for PETUNIA
Review: Boy, has metal gone downhill in the mainstream. Of course it's better than their first album, but what isn't. Petunia has always had its rabid fans and always will, but as a non-fan I can't recommend this dvd to other non-fans.

Summary: "What's DVD?" - asks Pantera...
Review: Don't get me wrong, Pantera kicks all ass that needs kicking. But this DVD was pretty cheaply done. The only jumping around you can do is from "tape to tape" as if choosing which VHS tape to watch from each of the 3 tapes this DVD is a comprised of. If you want to jump to a song or scene, forget it. You'll have to do it the "old school" way of fast forwarding. That's not that big of a deal but c'mon! This is DVD! If other DVD's can do it, why not this one? Other than that, the live performances are definitely worth the price of the DVD. "The Art of Shredding" live makes this DVD a MUST HAVE!

Summary: STRAIGHT FROM HELL(in the nicest possible way)
Review: Goddamn, this makes you wanna destroy some stuff. But seriously, this is a must if you love the music of Pantera but also want to get an insight into the crazy life of a successful rock band, especially one you like. The added gem to all the home-movie chaos is the complete set of their promo videos, unedited or censored and in great digital stereo. Sure the quaity of home-cam footage is not what DVD was made for but that is not the point, because it simply acts as a great collection of all their vids. Because the action is so furiously edited, DVD is a great format for fans to access their favourite crazy part of this mammoth disc and it is definitely the kind of thing where you notice something new each viewing. Nemesis from Seattle was totally missing the point.

Summary: Pantera - 3 Vulgar Videos From Hell
Review: Great DVD! If you're a fan of the powerhouse known as Pantera, pick this one up, pop it in, and "watch it go." Basically, it contains about 50% footage of them throwin' down live and the remainder of it is candit shots of them on the road - partyin' and blowin' stuff up. It jams. This DVD is special to me since I grew up in the DFW area and went to their shows as a teenager and I my early teens. I will never forget the 94 show at Fair Park when we tore that venue to pieces. It's especially important now due to the death of Dime. Nobody played metal that kind of passion. RIP bro.

I live in Colorado now but this DVD takes me back to my roots of growing up in North Texas - both good times and bad. The only thing that would have made this a 5 out of 5 would be if they left out that clip of this dude getting a zip (...). Thank God for fast forward. All in all, this DVD jams.
