Summary: Loved It All Over Again!
Review: I've been a Janet fan since I saw "What Have You Done..." so when I saw this I just had to have it. Mind you I already own the VHS version which I had worn out! This is a great DVD ... a must for any Janet fan. It's got all my favourites, especially The Pleasure Principle! My only criticism is that they left out Twenty Foreplay. I've only ever seen it once and did you know it's the first time Janet exposed her bare legs in a video but if you blink you'll miss it. Just a bit of trivia. It's definitely worth getting, 16 videos on one DVD compilation is a rarity these days! Enjoy!

Summary: Janet's music videos
Review: Janet has terrific videos, I love all of them, the choreography is superb and she is a really good dancer. This is the VHS version of her greatest hits CD "Design of a Decade" and has all the songs of the album except for "The Best Things In Life Are Free" (but since Janet can't be seen in that video, it's not really missed) and "Twenty Foreplay" (which would be a great addition).

Those who miss the videos of the "janet." album should buy the VHS release "janet." which has the videos of You Want This, If, Again, Any Time Any Place and a different version of That's The Way Love Goes.

Summary: Greatest Moments Of Janet Jackson In History.
Review: Janet Jackson's "Design of a Decade" features 15 hit songs from her previous albums: Control, Rhythm Nation, and Janet. The video also features a song that cannot be found on any of Jackson's three previous albums, "Whoops Now." The video flick shows Jackson with her dancers spending time at a beach on a boat while her dancers are jumping into the water for a swim, having a good time laughing, talking, and playing.

The video includes interviews with Janet Jackson, plus rehearsals and dance routines in preparation of a music video that was taped on location at an airport. Jackson talks about her work experiences with her choreographer Tina Landon, and the work involved in the making of the video flick featured in "Design of a Decade."

Unfortunately, many of the songs featured in "Design of a Decade" are not remixes, but it gives viewers an inside look at Jackson's early music career. Dating back to her first album: Control in 1986, followed by songs from her second and third albums: Rhythm Nation in 1989; Janet in 1993.

Summary: Design of an Artist
Review: Janet Jackson's videos have always been appealing to the eye, the costumes, the dances, the background. Everything about them. This marks the occasion of celebration, 10 years of hits, with her CD, 1995's DESIGN OF A DECADE. It was until CONTROL that Janet got attention with her tongue in cheek songs. But that wasn't it, it was also the videos. Scarcely was seen, women dancing in tight choreography in videos. This outlines her video hits from 1986 to 1995, from What Have You Done For Me Lately, to the more recent Runaway. Through watching the videos you can watch Janet transform from younger woman to mature woman, as she is always evolving. This is a must have for those who enjoy Janet's videos, and enjoy the artist that is Janet Jackson.

Summary: R&B Queen of Video
Review: Janet was truly done it all in her videos and done her best to change the genre that started out as funny European art clips into modern pieces of urban fun. At best, she's a mind-blowing performer that takes control of the stage and makes you love her. Some of the highlights of this set of hits are include funky scenes in such upbeat songs as "What Have You Done For Me Lately" and "When I Think Of You". Stage presence is proven on faire like "Control" and the rocking "Black Cat" (even a panther can't take your eyes off Janet). Her choreographed to perfection solo apartment romp in "Pleasure Principle" combines her excellent moves and sex appeal. Janet gets downright epic on dance masterpieces like "Rhythm Nation" and "Miss You Much". These videos really made the big dance number essential to all pop songs. The videos are only shot in black and white, but the are revolutionary even in cinematography. Continuing on the epic front are a trip back in time in "Alright" (warning, not the Heavy D long version). Innocence be damned when Janet lets her waist line show in the sexy yet charming "Love Will Never Do Without You" and the steamy scenario of "That's The Way Love Goes". A trip across the world is seen in "Runaway". The cute "Whoops Now" is a big bonus of home video. And I should also mention the song is on the end of the "Janet" record. Sorry if I forget to mention that in the review of the album.

Now at worst, well, it's not her fault. It's boring direction for emotional ballads that just can't work. "Let's Wait A While" is just to sweet and loving while "Come Back To Me" is fair to lush. In all, some of the best videos of the eighties and nineties that can be enjoyed a lot. Janet fans, this is a must for you. It might be worth looking into her video sets for albums like "Janet" as well.
