Summary: can't get it out of my head
Review: This has to be one of the best! I have been obsessed since I saw it on public TV.
The variety of entertainers that Michael sings with is truly a tribute to the obvious friendships he has with them.
Buy it you will not regret it.

Summary: Enjoy Michael on stage with his friends!!
Review: This is a beautiful piece of work for anyone who loves the voice of Michael McDonald. 70 minutes of beautiful singing with Michael and friends like Kenny Loggins, James Ingram and The Doobies. These artists together with a perfect audio registration makes this DVD a beautiful piece of work that is a 'must-have'for each fan!!

Summary: Wonderful concert filled with Michael's famous hits
Review: This is a wonderful concert which features great musicians and of course, Michael McDonald. He sings Grammy winning hits with stellar musicians such as Patti LaBelle ("On My Own"), James Ingram ("Yah Mo Be There"), Christopher Cross ("Ride Like the Wind"), Kenny Loggins ("Heart to Heart" and "This is It"), Patti Austin ("You Belong to Me") and the Doobie Brothers ("Minute by Minute" and "Takin' It to the Streets"). He also sings with some lesser known musicians. The only bad song is the one sung by Jeff Bridges (!) -- I was wondering what's he doing singing here on this concert. Otherwise, this is a dream concert come true. If you are a fan of Michael McDonald, you will definitely love this DVD. The sound and picture quality are excellent and the DVD is very reasonably priced. Very highly recommended!

Summary: Great Concert, but too much cut out
Review: This is really a great concert. I was in the audiance (on the floor, dead center, about 10 rows back...) when they taped it at the Shrine in LA. It was a concert given in honor of Michael's lifetime achievement award from Yamaha as part of the annual NAMM convention. I really, really enjoyed the concert, but I am dissapointed that they rearranged the song order (to the person who said it was horrible, it didn't really open with on my own.) and cut so many performers. In addition to what is on the DVD, Ray Charles, the Wilkensons (sp?), most of steely dan, toto, and a bunch of other performers were there. The concert was about two and 1/2 half hours, so you can see how much was cut out. The show was plagued with wireless mic problems, which was probably why they had to cut so much. Oh well- thats what happens when you're live with only one performance! It was still a good show.

Summary: A Real Treat
Review: This is very nice to own for all Michael Mcdonald fans.To see many artists that he has been involved with through the years pay tribute to him was great. He did songs like On My Own with Patti LaBelle,Ya Mo Be There with James Ingram,Also Kenny Loggins is there too.Jeff Bridges hosts the show and even sings a song too.Lots more artists sing and sound great with Michael.Of course the Doobie's came on and did 2 songs and the end was Taking it to the Streets in which everyone came on stage for an awesome finale.I really enjoyed this DVD very much,it was very entertaining and you could see everyone in it had lots of fun making it.

Review: This is with no doubt, one of the BEST things I've ever seen on a TV. Frm the second it started, to the very last- I was smiling. What a concert! And trust me; Michael's vocals on this DVD is as good as always... Almost better (if that is possible).

I love the variety of this DVD as well. Loggins, Cross, McCain, Austin etc... They all to a fantastic job. And Bridges is a really nice confrancier.

There was on one song I didn't breath for 5 minutes- Maria, sung by Mike, James Ingram and David Pack. Outstanding.

Trust me; you don't wanna miss this wonderful DVD. The best DVD I've seen and heard.

Oh, one last thing: the band is topclass:

Here's some of them:

Steve Gadd: Drums
Nathan East: Bass
Tommy Sims: Bass
Steve Porcaro: Keyboards
Bernie Chiarwille: Guitars
MArc Harris(?): B3
Dave Koz: Saxophone

Summary: Now we know about "On My Own"
Review: Well, if you know the story behind the hit "On My Own" you know that McDonald and LaBelle were never in the same studio. They recorded their tracks separately as he/or she heard the other's playback. It's a good thing. Put Patti Labelle on stage and she's unable to resist adding to everyone else's solo with a display of caterwalling and upstaging that insiders know has caused fights with other performers. She just can't shut her mouth. Opening with a duet makes this sound like Patti Labelle and friends with Michael doing backup. Listen to the original release and then compare it to her "duet" on this DVD and you'll see the difference. The sad thing about this DVD is that it is NOT the definitive live performances of his years with the Doobie Brothers. Now THAT was something.
