Summary: A wonderful performance.
Review: Wow. This video shows Dave Matthews Band at their very best. Every song on that video is just a little sweeter and has a ton more energy than the albumn versions. DMB is in a musical catagory of their own. Wonderful editing, awesome boom shots, and a great crowd make this video a must have.

Summary: Dave is the man
Review: I was lucky enough to attend this concert in New Jersey and it was outstanding. The band just jammed and the video captures the best way to see dave, LIVE!. This is the first video out for the Dave Matthews Band and I hope to see more in the future.

Summary: As good as being there.
Review: I went to the actual concert and the video is just as awesome. It was a great show and the energy is successfully captured in this video. Dave and the band are amazing and the crowd is really into it. I love watching the video because it reminds me so much of actually being at the concert.

Summary: Best DMB Live Performance to Date
Review: The Dave Matthews Band is truly one of the greatest touring bands of the decade. From what I have seen (the PBS special), this performance is one of their best shows to date. The whole band is emotional, energetic and they jam like there's no tomorrow. This is a must have for any Dave fan.

Summary: Dave Matthews Band Does it Again!
Review: "Listener Supported" Is a live show of their 9/11/99Performance In East Rutherford N.J. Dave Matthews Band and Other Guests Do a Remarkable job in this unbeliveable 18 song set list including Old Favorites like "Crash into me" and "Too Much". The show also includes awesome rare tunes like "Granny", "Long Black Veil", "#40", and violinist Boyd Tinsley's "True Reflections." The show also adds personal favorites of mine such as "The Stone", "Warehouse" and many others. The band not only does the tunes well, they have long jam sessions to add to the songs. Any Dave Matthews fan will absolutely love the show, and the show will certainly add even newer fans to the mix. Dave Matthews Band lives in my soul forever! Never Stop Jamming!

Summary: Dave rocks the party that rocks the body.
Review: The new video of dave matthews is better than any porno i have ever seen, and believe me friend, i have seen my share of pornos. PBS really captures the bands mystique and their flaming energy on tape. He is better than that ricky martin character, though he isn't hotter than madonna, dave still kicks major rear. "Thank you all very much, we'll be back again, no doubt."

Summary: Overrated DVD from a great band.
Review: Based upon the fact that I've seen the DMB on this particular tour a couple of times, I eagerly rented this DVD and was later thankful that I didn't buy it. After reading many of the great reviews, I found myself dumbfounded, but undeterred from regarding this DVD as tragically mediocre - especially 'cause it showcases such a brilliant band!

First off, I'm a little confused by all the claims that the sound quality is so magnificent. I own more than a few concerts on DVD, and was extremely disappointed by it's sound "quality." I had to turn the volume on my stereo-sound system WAY up in order for "Listener Supported" to compare with the wall-shaking sounds of DVDs like "Rush In Rio" or "U2 - Live In Boston." Secondly, I found the indoor concert vibe to be Confining rather than Intimate. I always felt that Dave Matthews wrote the kind of atmospheric songs that belong outside - under the open sky. His songwriting combined with his band's impeccable playing somehow call for an outdoor amphitheatre where the music can breathe (so to speak), NOT an indoor arena where the music almost seems to suffocate. For this reason alone, I find the Central Park and Folsom Field concert DVDs to be much more satisfying to the eye and ear.

Last but certainly not least, am I the only person who found the songs that were lead by the three female background singers to be nothing but IN THE WAY of much better songs that could've been played?? On top of that, Boyd Tinsley couldn't sing a lead vocal if his life depended on it, so whichever song it was that he sang (I forgot the title for a reason) it was a complete waste of time.

After all these complaints, however, "Listener Supported" is still a Dave Matthews Band DVD. It's still loaded with plenty of Carter's virtuoso drumming, Dave's showmanship, and the rest of the guy's overall tight musicianship. Just for BEING the DMB, I couldn't very well continue to call myself a musician and give any DVD or CD by this ground-breaking band less than three stars

Summary: Great DVD **MAJOR WARNING** though
Review: This DVD is incredible, the emotion can be felt, the electricity is in the air, but the one problem with a dvd a little older like this one made in 1999 is that ***it's NOT PS2 COMPATIBLE*** I bought it used with some scratches and I thought it was the scratches messing it up so I had it professionally resurfaced, but it's still doesn't read it. The DVD works on my other DVD players just not my ps2... Just a thoughtful warning if your ps2 is your only source of dvd playing.

Summary: Without question--the BEST DMB DVD available today.
Review: This is the best DVD of the band available today. I own every DVD released so far, and this has the best sound and picture quality of any. Instead of seeing a lot of raw footage from a rockin' concert, this is a tad more refined. It's an extraordinary performance with superior filming, the camara capturing each band member so skillfully that you feel like you're right there, sixth row center. Just awesome.
