Summary: Long Overdue!!!
Review: This DVD of a live Melissa performance was long overdue. I especially enjoyed the bonus disc, with one notable exception. Melissa was interviewed by an off-camera interviewer and the sound quality for both questions and (more importantly) Melissa's answers was horrible. I had to turn the volume up -- way up -- and I could barely hear what was going on. This was a major disappointment, especially since it could have been fixed during post-production. This is only reason I give it 4 stars vs. 5 stars. (I really liked the version with running commentary by Melissa while the concert was going on.)

Summary: Awesome Performance
Review: This dvd truly captures the full effect of Melissa's live show. What you see is what you get everytime you see her. She is personable, funny, and always plays her shows for her fans. You can tell she loves what she does while remaining professional in the process.

Review: This has got to be the BEST live dvd concert that I have ever seen! When Melissa sings "Scarecrow" and the picture showing. All I can say is WOW!
I recommend this to all!!!!

Summary: Live...And Phenomenal
Review: Tremendous.
Super.
Great.

You will not be disappointed. If you were unable to see Melissa live and in person on this most recent tour, this IS the next best thing to actually being there.

She makes it feel as though you are the only person in the room and that she is singing right to you.

Summary: One-of-a-kind experience
Review: Watching Melissa Etheridge on "Live & Alone" should serve as further proof that she is one of the main ladies in rock today. Her voice is raw, her tales of love & lust are delicious to my ears, her passion, excellent guitar-playing and warm attitude will make you want to watch this DVD over and over again. Admittedly, some songs here I yearn to hear in a less unplugged setting, backed with her band, but Melissa suceeds at translating them into stripped-down guitar-only version without sacrifing a bit of the energy that goes into them. Melissa's lovely to watch, her naughty self is sexy & inviting (and I am not a lesbian! Hehe). Favorite tracks: Come To My Window, Down To One, I Want To Come Over, The Weakness In Me (gives me the chills!), I Take You With Me, The Different (MIND-BLOWING!), I Want To Be In Love, Your Little Secret, Lover Please, Bring Me Some Water, I'm The Only One & Like The Way I Do (wonderful classic!). This DVD surprised me with the quality and wonderful craftsmanship that went into it. The second CD is a welcome addition. You'll love this as much as I do.

Review: Watchng this DVD, it was all I could to not to cheer wildly at the TV. Dancing in the living room, grin glued to my face. It is great to finally be able to re-live the experience of Melissa on stage. This DVD ROCKS!!!...

Summary: Melissa Etheridge Live and Alone - Don't waste your money
Review: What a waste of money! I just bought this DVD to listen to my favorite Melissa Etheridge songs. She's doing a one act performance. Yes, just her and her guitar. No band. No nothing. Recording is pathetic! I have a high-end Yamaha A/V receiver, Polk audio speakers and an HDTV gear. No amount of sound adjustment can make the sound better. Buyers BEWARE: DO NOT BUY THIS DVD. Buy a CD album if you're a Melissa Etheridge fan. If I should have known, I would not buy this DVD even it goes on sale for $1.

Summary: better late than never!
Review: What was I thinking? I only ordered this two-disc deluxe edition two weeks ago. To think all this time could have been rocking with Melissa!
I was in the audience for the first night of this concert tour in Washington, D.C. To hear her talk about how she hoped her audience realized this wasn't a "watch Melissa sit on a stool and strum her guitar" concert made me realize how important her audience and fans are to her. She performs her heart out and gives everything she has to her audience. Be sure to look for all the extras in this dvd. I almost missed the behind the scenes at several of the concerts. There is also a clip of her getting ready to go on the road and you get a glimpse of her home. I can't wait to see her live again. Thanks for the dvd Melissa! People, check out the "Lucky" dvd too. It is incredible.
