Summary: Fun for the whole family.
Review: Being an AC DC fan from over 20 years ago, I decided to purchase this DVD for myself. What a surprise! My whole family sat down to watch it with me when they started watching Angus, and they really loved watching Angus pick his guitar and dance. Brian's no Bon, but who ever could be? Those are such tough shoes to fill. Anyway, if you love Angus, you won't be let down.

Summary: A PLEASANT SURPRISE!
Review: Never having been a fan of the band, I recently found myself downloading their greatest hits for a 'reference-only' compilation that I was making. As one would guess, I fell in love with the sound of the band, past and present, and developed a healthy addiction. Next step was the purchase of a few classic CDs, which only added to my excitement. After that, I had to get a decent live concert video. I had a lot of options to choose from, but this was the one I made, after carefully reading of reviews and articles. As it turned out, this is one of the hottest titles in my DVD collection (it's a big collection, mind you), a superb sounding DVD with spectacular image quality and exciting editing too (never mind those reviews bitching about the editing being too fast for any shot to last more than 5 seconds). Also, to address some of the complaints about Brian's voice: it's always sounded like that! It's his voice, love it or leave it, you know? True, he does look like he's making a hell of an effort trying to reach some of those notes, but that's no reason to put this DVD down. The band as a whole, Brian no doubt included, sound very tight, very in touch with the material and with each other, and, contrary to my first expectations, in top form! Buy it, if only for a taste of raunchy, fun, unpretentious rock and roll. I guarantee you won't regret it! Best.

Summary: 10-star DVD
Review: This is absolutely the coolest, best sounding, best edited concert DVD I have had the pleasure of watching. I can summarize it just by saying that I had one huge grin on my face as I watched the entire concert. These forty-year olds can ROCK better than any band out there--they go literally non stop for over 2 hours!!! Yes I will admit that Johnson best singing days are behind him, but his enthusiasm, energy & sincerity more than make up for it. Angus is God and this DVD will make you a believer (if you aren't already). The band is as tight as ever. AC/DC (as you will see in the extra footage) is ALL about the show and just rocking their ... off. And the thing that stands out the very most is that they are haven't a GREAT time performing. The crowd can feel this and rewards the band by going nuts the entire concert. You can actually see as the concert goes on the energy levels going up by both the band and crowd--each feeding off one another. It's so awesome. If you like rock, even if you are so-so on AC/DC, do yourself one BIG favor and get this DVD. It will be a cornerstone of your collection. I think I'm going to get happy :) and watch this concert....again!!!!!

Summary: Kicks...
Review: Being old enough to have witnessed the history of Rock n' Roll, it is my humble opinion that four bands form the corners of the Universe: the Beatles, the Stones, Led Zepplin, and, of course, AC-DC. Also, IMHO, Angus Young is the last surviving guitar god. This band defines energy and androgyny, and getting a little long in the tooth hasn't hurt them a bit. I saw them on this tour, and the DVD does it justice. You can tell when a band has reached the ultimate level, because it's hard to find a "greatest hits" album, because, quite frankly, everything they did is great. There really isn't a bad track on this, so it is hard for me to pick one out over the others. Get this disc, turn down the lights, do air guitar with Angus and imagine you are the fifth member of maybe the greatest... band of all time.

Summary: ac/dc are still the kings of rock
Review: i'll put this simply---if you like AC/DC,you'll like this DVD.along with the usual acca dacca nuggets,this concert treats us to rarely performed gems like WHAT DO YOU DO FOR MONEY HONEY and UP TO MY NECK IN YOU.the band of course is fantastic and the gargantuan crowd is exhilarated by these perennial hard rock behemoths.having said that,i'd like to point out that we AC/DC fans of many years would most certainly love to see other archival footage from by-gone years released in either the VHS or DVD format.here i speak of lost performances of the BON SCOTT era,as well as footage from the early BRIAN JOHNSON era---for instance, the LARGO ,MARYLAND footage from the '81 FOR THOSE tour from which MTV culled numerous videos for rotation during that time.at any rate,the STIFF UPPER LIP DVD bestows the fan w/glamorous picture and sound quality as well as some behind-the-scenes footage of ANGUS and the boys.you'll be glad you added this gem to your collection.we salute you,AC/DC.

Summary: Top notch audio and video. Editing sucks!
Review: I borrowed this DVD from a co-worker. The audio and
video quality of this concert footage are awesome.
However, few minutes into it and I realized that the
editing sucked big time. Each clip is barely a few
seconds long and before you grasp the scene, you are
whisked away to another. This is a very good case of
too many cameras and a trigger happy editor who was
probably playing drums on the video editing button.
If you are able to tolerate this Internet Age,
millisecond attention span, you will love this DVD. After all these years, AC/DC still ROCKS!

Summary: The best band with the worst singer
Review: THis DVD features the best rock band of the world with the worst singer of the world (Brian Johnson). Seeing the guy singing live is very emotional.. Johnson seems like he's about to die, such is the strenght he is forced to use to "sing" even one note!! Amazing...!!
But the guy has enough charisma to blow away one hundred rock singers put together ("singers" like Axl Rose, for example). He has absolute control of the audience. What we have here is the costumary AC/DC live set: Malcolm and Cliff each at an opposite side of Phil Rudd's drums, Johnson and Angus up ahead in the stage. Johnson never introduces the band members to the audience. There are no "polictical" speeches, no pretended "dephtness" to their performance. IT's just sraight ahead, solid, marvellous, punching rock'n roll. And of course, if you're a little bit intelligent, you will have to swallow some of the worst lyrics ever wrote (mainly those of the Brian Johnson period), when you have to endure grown men of more than forty five years of age singing about getting laid, giving them pleasure, showing them their "toys", etc, etc.... This band, never one to give interviews easily, is very clever. The extra at the ending (interview) is so brief, so fast (ultra fast editions of the guys in the backstage, going to the concert and giving interviews to the camera), that you just keep wanting more. The set list is very well chosen, and the execution by the band is flawless. Obligatory aquisition.

Summary: Surprisingly good
Review: First off, this DVD was released with the DTS stereo option, so you're in for a sonic treat if you have a DTS-decoding receiver and DVD player. The band from Down Under is still giving it their all, some 70+ years or so after they started rockin'. Well, maybe not 70 years, but it seems that bands hang around that long lately. But to hear Brian Johnson and the Young brothers tell it, AC/DC still enjoy performing today as much as they ever did. And they have very respecful things to say about their fans, which is refreshing. The DVD is mostly concert footage plus a few minutes of interview footage thrown in. The whole band participates in the interviews, not just the "principals". AC/DC is a great band for those who like meat-and-potatoes rock and roll: Good, old-fashioned crunchy guitars and 3 chord noise. No fancy pretensions, just a good ol' time.

Summary: Best AC/DC live so far
Review: This is the best live AC/DC concert release I have ever seen. Huge stadium crowd, giant show, extremely well recorded, and lots of songs. The band is real tight, have lots of energy, they work great with each other on stage, and the whole show comes off real well. This is one that is hard to top. If you ever want something to remember AC/DC by, this is the one I would recommend. The extra stuff on the DVD is not much, but that's not what AC/DC is about anyway. The interview stuff consists of them thanking the fans, talking a little bit about how they feel about playing, etc. It's pretty kick back feeling and not the main point. The main point is the show. Considering the challenges that are present in recording any live show, this DVD is exceptional.

Summary: Live at Donington is best
Review: I'm repeating here my review for NO BULL, because I think the reasoning apllies here also. The difference is that AC/DC new DVD features an amazing production and sound quality. 1992's LIVE AT DONINGTON is better than STIFF UPPER LIP. The explanations are simple: first. Chris Slade is a much better drummer than Phil Rudd, and Donington provesthis very clearly!
Second, Brian Johnson's voice was still close to top-notch form in 1992.
What impress me most in AC/DC concerts (I mean the oficial video / DVD releases, since LET THERE BE ROCK) is how a band that sends such energy, entertainment and eletricity to the audience seems to be so joyless while playing their act.... Never once I've seen Malcolm and Phil and Cliff exchange one single smile to each other or to Brian or Angus ahead in the stage. This is a common feature in bands playing live, as if to say to each other: "Ok, this night we're kicking as... Everything's alright..", or something like that. You can check it in Iron Maiden videos or Judas Priest videos, for example.....
Angus climbs up Brian's shoulder, that's for sure, but he could be climbing upona wall, it would have the same effect, so "cold" seems the relationship between both of them on the stage...
It seems that AC/DC members just don't care about each other, as long as everyone is doing their job... weird thing..
