If you have a dvd-player, this dvd is a "must be" in your collection. perfect sound, perfect video quality, and camera positions that gives you the feeling you are live in the concert.The bonus material is also very intersting, like the "behind the scences" film or watching the show in 3 different camera perspectives. So buy it and play it loud, very loud!

Review: Anyone who loves U2, I would advise to go out and buy this DVD. I'll admit it is not as good as Rattle and Hum but whenever U2 perform live there is a certain quality they have that just makes them sound ten times better. they play all the great songs from recently released singles such as "Walk On" to Classics like "Where the Streets Have no Name". It is undoubtably a "must" for U2 fans alike.

Review: Great show whether you were able to see them on tour or not. Fun trying to open the "Easter Eggs" which allow you to view the Bonocam. Even my non-U2 friends have enjoyed watching this. They play some old classics and some of their new stuff. Great extras that tell you about what goes on behind the scenes. Worth having. If like U2 at all you will enjoy this.

Summary: Killer live DVD...U2 rocks!
Review: I got this dvd the day it came out and couldn't wait to see it...I've since bought it for two other people as gifts. To put it simply, I love this dvd! You'd think after watching the dvd that it was post 9-11 with the emotion of the show...I was shocked to find out it was filmed in June. My favorite part is the middle when they play "Desire", "Stay(awesome version)", "Bad", and "Where The Streets Have No Name" back to back. I was out of breath the first couple of times I watched it! "Beautiful Day" flat out rocks and "Walk On" was a great way to close the show. Buy this DVD now!

Summary: Good, but not superb
Review: When U2 stretch, they are incredible. So songs like "The Fly" and "Desire" in this show are very soulful and original. Unfortunately, much of the rest of the Elevation Tour performances hardly veer from their respective album versions, so your appetite for fresh music is never completely satisfied with this DVD. That, and the guys just look a bit too tired and bored much of the time - you can tell that this is several months into a fulltime tour! (Not that I can fault them - they're over 40 now) Then again, U2 have never been huge into improv. So if you're looking for the same hunger and charisma here as in 'Rattle and Hum', you won't find what you're looking for. But get it anyway - it's still as good as rock and roll gets right now!

Summary: Great all around, not without its flaws.
Review: The Elevation tour was not only a great concert, it was also an incredible experience. I would expect the DVD recording to just be a concert, not a recollection of the experience, but I am delighted that I'm wrong. Just flip the concert onto the "fan-cam" and it's like being right back in the middle of the arena and experiencing the thrill of watching the world's greatest band walk onstage. Even if you're only a marginal U2 fan and never saw the Elevation tour this disc is worth buying. All the hype about ticket sales and popularity aside, this really was one of the greatest rock concerts of the past few decades. There are few bands now willing to rely solely on their music and their own stage presence to carry a show. Even U2, for the past two tours, couldn't escape the overblown, overstaged, overproduced stage show. This concert firmly re-established what a rock concert really should be. If more musicians followed their model we could genuinely grow up beyond Britney and Eminem. But the DVD set does leave some things to be desired. I know, for example, that some key songs from the Boston concert were cut out. I can only assume that this was because the band hated how they performed those songs that night, because there's more than enough room on the DVD to include them. But that's a small thing... there are live performances of these songs from other concerts that are available. The second disc is really what leaves me a bit dissatisfied. The advertising for the set claimed this disc contained "the entire concert again" but from a different angle, including the "fan-cam" and the "Bono-cam". For this concert, Bono apparently had a small camera installed on his glasses. Too bad he only wore them for the first few songs. So it's understandable that this was not included as a different angle, but I sure wish they hadn't advertised it as being included. Also that "entire concert" is actually missing about 1/3 of the songs on the first disc. The film just gracelessly "statics out" after one song and skips ahead two or three to the next available one. But beyond that this is an essential buy for any U2 fan and I highly recommend buying it through Amazon, if you're already paying shipping for other items, because chain stores will gouge you out of nearly 40 bucks to buy it!

Review: This DVD is incredible. Watching Bono perform only days after the passing of his father is an awe inspiring thing. The emotion is evident in every song and the band seem more as one than I have ever seen before. The cameras have captured the moment beautifully and the audio mix is first class. Technically this DVD is brilliant but it's the content that really shines. Listen to the guys playing "With or Without You", "Bad" or "Where The Streets Have No Name" and tell me you don't feel something. There is no band like U2.

Summary: Even better than the real thing -- well, almost
Review: If you were one of those unlucky people who didn't get to see U2 on their extensive tour, well, you get another chance! And if you're one of those (like me) who did get to see them at least once, then here's your chance to relive a great tour. Elevation was definitely the greatest concert I have been to, and I have already watched my DVD twice. The set list is amazing. You can tell that U2 picked some of their best live songs, and they really rock. The concert opens just like all of them, with "Elevation," and there's that moment of almost pure joy when all the lights go down, then the stage lights come up and it's all U2 from there. There's not a bad song on the disc, but my favorite is definitely "Stay," when it's just Bono and The Edge alone on the heart. It ends beautifully with "Wake Up Dead Man" followed with "Walk On." Also included are some awesome extras, such as the multi-camera angle, which allows you to choose between three different cameras throughout most of the concert. Be sure to watch the control room -- especially during "With or Without You" -- it's very amusing. The extra tracks and the road movie were nice additions as well. If you're a lover of good concerts, buy this DVD. If you're a diehard U2 fan, or even just a casual one, buy this DVD. You won't regret it!

Summary: Like being there all over again
Review: It may just be because I saw them in Albany a mere 4 days before this concert was filmed (and thusly they were still playing in a similar fashion) or the sheer joy of hearing Bono name-drop Albany right before "Kite" and talking about how the crowd carried him through and feeling that "I was there!" rush, but whatever it is, it works. This DVD fully captures the experience of being at the concert, and while some might say the camera angles aren't done well, I believe they're sufficient for what's being presented...I wouldn't envy someone whose task it was to sift through all that was recorded and piece it together into something coherent....It goes without saying that any 20 other permutations of the concert footage could be equally good or equally bad in the viewer's eyes....And as for the songs left out, I would have liked to see them (esp. Mysterious Ways, one of my all time fav. U2 songs)...but the rest of the presentation is so superb at transporting me back the June 2, 2001 that I can't really complain about that. If you haven't caught them in concert yet, go out and do so, if not, pick this up and get a taste of them at their peak. And no disrespect to the reviewer from TX, but U2's power and scope has always been there....Sept. 11 just shifted the focus (and I too, would like to see them again having read what that reviewer wrote about how they've changed the show)...In any event, a solid concert film, worth every penny.
