Summary: Fantastic
Review: Terrific music, whether you're already a fan of Jackson Browne or a newcomer. This DVD has far more music on it than most others; it has just enough talk to set the stage and keep it interesting. Excellent musicianship throughout.

Summary: For "Everyman"
Review: This DVD is exceptional, not only in the quality, but for it's introspection into his songs. I didn't expect a concert, but a retrospective look at Jackson Browne's career as a song writer.
The interview's with notable musician's, who either colaborated with Jackson or admire their peer for the sheer talent of this man, are admirable and eloquent.
The sound and picture quality is great!
While this is a documentary on Jackson, there a many great tunes performed on stage that date back to his beginnings as a song writer as well as his most recent.
Enjoy!

Summary: What Music DVD Should Be!
Review: This is not only a wonderful overview of Jackson Browne's prodigious body of work, it is also a wonderfully mastered DVD. The audio and video transitions in "Doctor My Eyes" and "Sky Blue and Black" are both moving and perfectly edited. I highly recommend this DVD to any Jackson Browne fan.

Summary: Great Picture and Sound and Insight into J. Browne!
Review: This is the first DVD I bought, and it turned out to be a sound decision. The clarity of both the picture and sound is amazing. I play it through a digital receiver, with two speakers, and the mix -- particularly of the songs done on the set for the documentary -- is just perfect.

As for the documentary itself, it's incredibly well done. It covers all of his songwriting periods, up through I'm Alive, succinctly but well and gives some interesting insight into how he writes.

The Doctor My Eyes segment, which shows him performing the song in different eras, is brilliantly done, as is Farther On, which has some fascinating photographs, including one of him looking over the shoulder of his son (as he sings the line about the angels looking over his shoulder).

This thing is a treasure, whether you're a huge fan or a casual one. It should be the model for career retrospective documentaries ... it spares us the gossip page fodder and focuses on the music, which is what we care about.

Summary: An Absolute Must For All Jackson Browne Fans!
Review: This video captures the essence of JB's songwritings and life. Not only is the music great, but it the way this video was put together is superb.

It chronologically takes you from his beginnings in New York playing in a band with Nico from the Velvet Underground, to his 1994's "I'm Alive" album. Some of the live sessions are as good as or better than some of his recorded ones.

I have been a Jackson Browne fan for 25 years, and his music is still as fresh and new everytime view and listen to it

Summary: Absolutely you have to have this
Review: This video is an excellent opportunity to listen to some great music, from a man who continues to entertain and challenge us almost 30 years after he released his first albumn.

The video gives us an insight into the person and the music and also the friendships that have endured throughout to create some of the finest music that will continue to be there for us for as long as we want to hear it. Jackson Browne is so talented but above all, understands the human spirit and constantly challenges all of us and those around him, to be aware of our role in the world and to grab it with everything we have ! Anyone who "gets it" will love this video.

Anyone into great music, should get this and discover Jackson Browne.

Summary: BEST OF JACKSON

Summary: Missed Opportunity
Review: To make this video they apparently staged and taped an incredible Jackson Browne concert. Then it was edited by someone who thought that no one could be interested in hearing a Jackson Browne song all the way through. We are constantly cutting away to watch someone tell us that what we cannot see or hear is great.
There is room on the DVD to include the concert as a whole along with this documentary. That would make an absolutely great DVD.
As it is, I found it irritating.
