Summary: Same songs, but WOW what sounds and what a performance!
Review: Looking at the playlist, it seems like another Clapton concert, essentially the same songs as "Unplugged","24 Nights", "Chronicles" and "Friends in Hyde Park". These are all wonderful performances captured on DVD, but this concert has an extra dynamic quality to it. You find yourself drawn into this 2001 concert, you are enjoying the music and experience as much as the musicians. It could be the wonderful long solos by Clapton, the energy that Billy Preston adds by punctuating the songs with his organ, Nathan East's bass or the organ and electronic wind playing of David Sancious and Greg Phillinganes. The songs cover Eric's career from Derek and the Domino's through Reptile - acoustic and electric (with an unusual lack of guitar changes).
You will enjoy this concert over and over! Save yourself some money and get the combo DVD/CD package - you will want to listen at home on your theater system and while traveling.

Summary: Should be 6 Stars
Review: No words can set a mental image for such a paramount. For those of you basing their purchases on poor reviews, remember, that's one out of seven. If you're a Clapton fan and you don't
buy this, I feel as the majority. You're missing out. BIG TIME!

Summary: Clapton Live vs. DVD DTS
Review: No, I wasn't at the Staples Center where this DVD was recorded but I was at the Compac Center in Houston, Tx for the same 2001 tour and in all honesty, this DVD comes closest to the awesome experience of witnessing "Clapton" live. That was the best concert I've ever attended in my 49 years, beginning with Buffalo Springfield in 1967, and this DVD, especially in DTS(!!!!!!!), recaptures one ... great memory!!!

Summary: This DVD will Amaze you!
Review: Okay...I'm not a writer or journalist by any degree...and I've been waiting for a Great sounding Clapton DVD for ages and this one far exceeds my expectations! Thank you Eric Clapton! If you are an audiophile and have a great appreciation for superb recordings, this DVD in DTS will blow you away! I'm watching this for the first time as I sit and write this, and was surprised that no one has reviewed this DVD yet. The video and audio is SO crisp and clear that you WILL feel like you are at this show! Clapton opens acoustically with Key To The Highway and any guitarist will love watching the closeups of Claptons guitar work throughout the entire 2 hour show!! If your a bassist, and know of Nathan East's diverse and creative playing styles you'll find he holds the groove better than no other!!! This DVD has features many of Clapton's classics, blues standards, and a few selections from Reptile and Pilgrim. I highly recommend this one for your collection and I know you'll watch it again and again! I could keep writing on and on...but I'm going back to watch the show!

Summary: Eric was great... and keyboards too..
Review: Please take a look at the other reviews to see the great compliments for Eric Clapton. I would like to comment on the keyboard players. Billy Preston really knows how to get around a B3 organ. And, he is featured quite a bit as he plays, more than the keyborad artists on other concert DVDs I have purchased. It looks like Eric enjoys having him there. The synth/piano player is great too. There is a shot of him that is priceless after one of his leads.

All in all a great DVD. I highly recommend it.

Eric could have talked to the audience more and, unlike the band, he looked like he was really ready to get off the stage when the concert was over.

Summary: Fan or not a must have!
Review: This DVD is well worth the money. If you are are a EC fan you don't want to miss it. It might be the last concert recording that he does. The video is clear and the shooters are on the money. Occasionally giving you the veiw from the audience perspective. Lots of camera angles keep it interesting too. It's hard to explain the audio in words but I'll try. With a DTS setup, this is must have for any music lover, whether your a Clapton fan or not! A few times the acoustic leads are not up front enough and there might be a time or two where the drums over power the rest of the mix. But considering the afore mention imperfections lasts only about 30 seconds, the audio is truly outstanding. This concert performance is awesome. The flow of the material, the professionalism of the band all contribute to this being one of the best music concert performances I've seen in awhile. Fan or not a must have!
