Summary: OUCH!
Review: Ouch! That was the sound of my jaw hitting the floor over Britney Spears feeble attempt at acting. Somebody should tell her to stick to lip-syncing and dancing. But don't let her sing .... because SHE CAN'T SING! I've heard better noises from a fatally wounded rhino in the wild.

I admit I never actually watched most of this, I couldn't get past the first few moments. YES, she's pretty. YES, she can dance. But those are NOT excuses to let her make a movie. She is one of the most prolific examples of how MTV is ruining the lives of modern youth by stuffing no talent pretty faces down our throats. WAKE UP AMERICA!

I wish I could give this NEGATIVE stars.

Summary: BRITNEY CROSSES THE ROAD...
Review: FROM POP SENSATION TO ACTRESS. PAY NO MIND TO THE ONES THAT SAY BRITNEY SPEARS CAN'T ACT. SHE CAN AND I'LL ATTEST TO THAT. THE STORY AND CHARACTERS ARE REALLY NICE AND THE DIRECTOR AND CAST BRING IT ALL OUT. SPEARS IS GROWING UP AND HER MOVIE CAREER LOOKS PROMISING. THERE IS ALWAYS THOSE THAT DISLIKE YOU OR WHAT YOU DO. IF EVERYONE LIKES YOU, THERE WOULD BE SOMETHING WRONG. SO REST ASURE EVERYTHING IS ALRIGHT. LOOK FOR BRITNEY IN A CAMEO IN "AUSTIN POWERS GOLDMEMBER"

Summary: Britney Spears shows outstanding acting ability!
Review: CROSSROADS, a movie about three teenage girlfriends who have drifted apart quite a bit throughout the four years in high school. At the time of the movie the three girls, Lucy (Britney Spears), Mimi (Taryn Manning) and Kit (Zoe Saldana) meet back up at a special spot, and later begin a long journey across America. On this trip they discover something that they used to know, but had lost track of...their amazing friendship. This movie really is a good film about friendship and some of the most important things in life, that many take for granted. Britney Spears, along with her co-starring girls and Anson Mount (Ben) do an incredible job of portraying young girls (and guy) learing their way to adulthood. We all knew that Britney Spears could dance and sing extremely well, but did we know that she was such a great actress? Well, if there were any doubts about the extent of this girls talent, it seems that it's endless. Spears shows an extreme passion for acting and does it very well in the role of Lucy. It would be great to see Spears acting even more in the future. The movie also brings in some great appearances by Dan Aykroyd and Kim Cattrall, who play Lucy's parents, Pete and Caroline. If ever in the mood for a fun, campy movie that's a little bit comedy and a little bit drama, turn to CROSSROADS and your multi-talented girl, Britney Spears.

Summary: May god help us all........
Review: This is a huge example of what not to do when writing or directing a movie. If it werent for Britney Spears, the obsessive teens that saw this movie wouldn't have seen it, the media wouldn't have noticed it; come to think of it, nobody would have been foolish enough to direct such a poor movie off of such an absurd script.

Predictability is the thing that stands out in my mind. As I watched this movie on a plane ride from Hawai'i to LAX, I think I could have written the story out from the very beginning of the movie. Every scene is so obvious and contrived from the previous ones that I feel like i'm watching a movie that was written by a High School Freshman Dance class. Not only is the whole linear and boring plot predictable, but individual scenes are just as predictable. This movie throws no surprises, curves, or has anything of interest. From begining to end, this movie sloths forward to what would seem like a climax, but after an hour (two thirds of the movie) into the movie, its realized that there won't be a climax. Three immature and childish (although all looking 20+) highschool girls go off on a roadtrip with "some guy," and by the end of the movie the writers and directors must have realized that nothing was coming of the movie. As such, they simply took all three character's shallow and contrived stories and wound them all together in a total writing-cop out. The movie could have ended after the first scene, the second, or any other scene there after right up until the end and I don't think I would have noticed.

The dialogue is miserable and the environments boring and have already all been done. Britney's character, lucy, and her boyfriend/nerdy lab partner (whos name is forgotten after the second or third) decide to "Do it" after prom. This never happens, because Lucy has doubts. "Are you sure you want to do it? she nervously asks, clad in bra and panty. The guy then proceeds to actually pull out a LIST of reasons WHY they should. What planet are these people from? The best part is that Lucy, after hearing the list, composed of such winners as "Because we're lab partners," and "I can't go to college a virgin," is actually temporarily convinced! But, alas, Lucy is a smart girl and decides to "wait for love." How thoughtful. What depth.

Britney, the typical "amazingly-beautiful-yet-brilliant-nerd-gets-pushed-around-in-highschool," walks around highschool with her head hung low with her nerdy boyfriend/lab

partner and plays "pretty-made-fun-of-nerd-virgin-in-pink." Speaking of Ms. Spears, I once heard someone say that this was a "foray into new territory for Britney" or "a step in a new direction." Folks, watch this movie and look at britney's character. Britney's character, Lucy, is a nerd for the first part of the movie but all too soon, lucy turns into Britney Spears. She's an amazing singer, seductive dancer, cute little school girl charm and sexy blonde. Britney Spears plays the same person she is in real life! A move in another direction? This whole movie is about her - its like a little biography or tribute, or even a music video with a few extra added in blocks of unused time. Her acting is just like her music videos; dancing around like a blond fool with a great body. To her credit, I've seen much worse acting. She wasn't all that bad. But, it wasn't hard. SHE WAS PLAYING HERSELF. Everyone else was just filler. As a matter of fact, any character at any given time could be replaced with any random person, or wholly taken out for that matter, and it would have little or no effect on the story.

While watching this movie, we dont' care at all about the characters or what happens to them, but rather when Britney is going to get cherry picked. It sounds lewd, but its true. A few minutes into the movie, we already see Britney in JUST her bra and underwear, and shortly thereafter she "almost" has sex with some idiot. The rest of the movie does a miserable job of portraying her "budding romance" with this "guy" she takes this absurd trip with, and of course at the end, they decide to "do it." "Are you sure you're ready?" he so kindly asks. "Yes, I want to do it." Cry. Tear. How great.

This tribute to Britney's sex appeal and singing talent (which I very much hesitate to call it talent) is nothing more than throwing a pretty face into a shallow and aimless plot with a few other pretty faces. Had I been given a full frontal lobotomy or had my ears surgically removed, I might have been able to sit through this movie without thinking I was being tortured or as Mystery Science theater 3000.

Now, directors and writers out there, lets not make this mistake again. If theres one thing this movie can do (besides bolster Britney record sales and worldwide appeal), its show future directors and writers what not do. Lets not let this happen again.

Meanwhile, I hope I'll see this on MST3k, or maybe on TV in a room full of drunk people. Lets see Britney in a movie where she doesn't play an innocent yet sexy and attractive singer/dancer "trying to find her self," and maybe then we can gauge her (lack of?) acting skills.

Summary: Dreams change but friends are forever
Review: Oh my God, this movie really surprised me! When I went to the movies I definitely didn't expect a movie with such depth and emotion. This movie, of course, is a girlie movie about dreams and experiences, but it has such emotion that leaves you thinking.

The story is about three childhood friends Lucy, Mimi and Kit who, as they grow up, become very distant to each other. At the graduation ball they dig up an old box where they put their dreams eight years ago. Now, they are faced with resolutions: Lucy is determined to find her mom who left her as a child, Mimi is pregnant but she wants to participate in a singing contest and Kit wants to surprise her fiance and come and see him - sadly he is the one who surprises her.

Britney Spears delivers a fantastic performance. No matter what anyone says, I think she acted really great for a debut movie. Those people who say she acted terrible must be Britney-haters, because I myself am NOT one of her most devoted fans and I still must admit she did a good job. And the rest of the cast as well.

So basically this is my advice: go see it with couple of your friends, expecting a nice relaxing girlie movie with a depth. When you walk out of that cinema, stop and think about your friends.

Summary: You don't need to be a Britney fan to enjoy this movie.
Review: Despite the criticism regarding pop stars trying to be movie stars Britney proves her potential as a budding actress in this film.

Crossroads is a good movie with realistic characters in realistic situations. The concepts addressed in this film are very easy for most 18-year old girls to relate to. At 22 and approaching college graduation I find myself relating to Kit, Mimi and Lucy and the challenges they face in growing up.

This is definitely a girl's movie, but it's definitely geared more towards Britney's peers rather than the stereotypical 12-year old pop fan.

Summary: Watchable Chick Flick
Review: Ok now there are definately going to be people out there who don't like this movie. It's not for everyone. But for those who say it's horrible and not watchable GET A LIFE. It is defintely watchable. It wasn't acadamy award calliber but it was a decent chick flik.
I definately enjoyed seeing it with a bunch of my girlfriends. And of course guys are gonna like it, they get to stare at Britney for an hour and a half. The acting job by all stars was at least mediocre. I think Britney actually did a commendable job. Although she's no Julia Roberts she definately showed that she has potential. And I definately think she is a better actress than singer.
She showed a more vulnerable and softer side to the Britney that we see prancing on stage in those barely there outfits. I definately enjoyed the movie.

OH and even if you aren't a Britney fan you might just want to give it a chance. It was a decently done movie. And to all you people out there who don't want to give Diva's a chance GET OVER IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not all singers are bad actresses. Lighten up a bit and just try to enjoy a movie for once instead of banning before the credits even roll.

Summary: Better than I thought it would be
Review: When I went to see the Crossroads movie, I just wanted to see what sort of acting would Britney do and I thought it was an easy-going teen movie. I definitely didn't expect it to be a terrific movie, but when I saw it, Britney acted better than I expected and the whole thing was really cool, not only being at some places fun-loving, but also with a good plot which made you think seriously about your friends, your ambitions and dreams and feelings. It certainly wasn't shallow.

The movie was about three friends Lucy (Britney), Kit and Mimi who are very good friends in the beginning as little kids but over time stop being friends until they don't really like each other. Then, after their Graduation ball, they go to a place where they digged in a box with all their "dreams". Mimi decides to go to Los Angeles to go to an audition for singing, Kit goes with her to visit her fiance and Lucy then too in search of her mother. Mimi's friend, Ben, takes them there in his car. Then it's a road trip in which the three friends find out their true selves and get together as friends again, never to separate. Lucy and Ben have feelings for each other. No dream actually becomes true - Lucy's mom doesn't want her, saying she was a mistake, in the end, Kit's fiance is actually a bad guy who is cheating on her plus he made Mimi pregnant. Mimi's dream was also to put her feet into the Pacific Ocean which she does and in fact, instead of Mimi, Lucy goes to the audition as the singer (she wrote the lyrics and Ben the music), but Mimi and Kit are her vocalists. It ends in a happy end but through some tough times.

I think the movie was really interesting and you won't be disappointed if you go see it. So check it out, cuz it's gonna be worth it.
