Rating: Summary: What's Wrong With You People Review: Just because Britney's in it doesn't mean its a bad movie. I thought it was one of the best movie's I've seen in a long time. My friend refused to watch it. So I turned it on and she was painting her nails and within the first 5 min. she was hooked. Anyway its about a girl (Britney) with a father (Dan Akroid) who wants only the best for her. Her and her 2 friends went seperate ways by the time they reached high school. One of the girls decides to go to a singing audition in California and invites the others to come along. One girl (Britney) says she'll go but they can drop her off in Arizona, where her mom lives. She finds out the truth about why her mom left and doesn't keep in touch. The other girl says she'll go but they drop her with her fiance. This movie is about friendship, love, and real life. Its funny, sad, and you'll wanna watch it again and again.
Rating: Summary: BARF!!! PUKE!!! HURL!!! NEED I SAY MORE. Review: I don't know why artists like Madonna, Jennifer Lopez, Mariah Carey, and Lance Bass,to name a few, attempt to put their so-called acting talents on the big screen (Evita was nothing but music, those J-Lo movies are nothing but CRUD, GLITTER should've been renamed GUTTER, and I've already seen On the Line, and it was called SERENDIPITY and THAT was good). Now Britney Spears want to dominate the movies by starring in a movie that is even worse than Howard the Duck, Showgirls, and Pluto Nash put together. Let's see: a road movie with girls. That's been done before in a movie called Thelma and Louise, put some big name stars in it like Dan Akroyd and Kim Catrall, both of whom who made the life threatening decision to embarrass themselves to be in a movie with a nasally challenged pop star(Suddenly David Caruso's carreer is looking up).Add a plot that was thrown away and shouldn't have been dug up the way IMHOTEP THE MUMMY, shouldn't have been. Finally, have Britney Spears brainwashed into thinking this fluff of a movie is gonna be number one at the box office(unaware that Denzel Washington's "JOHN Q" opened at the same time and nabbed that spot). The movie altogether is a complete and utter douche, and it would make the average viewer want to barf, puke, and hurl. If Crossroads is the film to be recommended to see, then in that case Mariah Carey's GLITTER was overlooked.
Rating: Summary: Not terrible but not good either. Review: This film wasn't all boring. I must say it was a bit suprising. It made me laught at some scenes. But to take this film seriously is like taking it seriously if a new born baby cries. This film has a terrible storyline, Predicible script and boring caracters. The Best performance in this film however is by Britney. She is not good in this film by any means but she is much better than any other actor in this film. She plays Lucy ( the good girl who is a virgin) suprise. No. The Film also is in a way so stupid. Like the scene were Mimi begans to sing I love rock n'roll and she can't sing it and everybody boo. Then she asks lucy to sing it. Lucy barely sings for a second and everybody starts to dance. Lucy is telling her friends from the night her mother ran away (15 years before). She visits her mother and drives by the house and goes out of the car and knocks on the door and her friends just leave. She doesn't know wether she is home or busy. She just says hi and it's me Lucy. She hasn't seen her mother for 15 years and Just want's to meet her. Then suddenly Lucy is very upset cause she doesn't wan't anything to do with her. Well she just left her and her father 15 years before If she would have wanted you in her life she would have at least called. Then is the scene were Britney Cries and everybody in the movie theatre started to laugh even hard core Britney Fans started to laugh. There are many other scenes in this film to count but I have to say if you really want'to have fun by watching really bad movies and make fun of them in your tv room this one i would recomend renting as well as Madonnas films (shanghai surprise, who's that girl, body of evidence and The Next Best thing) and Mariah's Glitter.
Rating: Summary: This is one of the WORST movies ever made! Review: I'm sorry, but I'm soooooo glad that Britney Spear's fifteen minutes of fame are finally dying off. (After her six month break, her popularity will fade just like with every other generation Y MTV musician on total request live!) I can't stand her music, her attitude, or the way that she dresses. And, as bad as her singing is, her movie, Crossroads, has got to be one of the worst movies ever made. In fact it was so bad that me and my wife stopped the movie after ten minutes. Save your money, this movie is TERRIBLE. Go rent something entertaining like Monsters, Inc!
Rating: Summary: not a good movie... Review: This movie, is well...not good at all. I think Britney is okay and all, but she should have not agreed to do this movie. She's not a bad actress, but this movie is SOO typical. Imagine all the typical movie concepts, (prom night, road trips, a shy girl liking a "rebel" dude), and you get Crossroads. I do not recommend this movie...
Rating: Summary: WHERE ARE THE SEMI-STARS???? Review: HAHAHA...is this a joke or something? It is obvious that those who have given the 5 stars are teenagers who don't have a clue of what a genuine film is all about and are hypnotized by Barbie doll Spears. This movie was truly something horrible. The storyline was extremely awful and the acting was excruciating. Seriously people aside from the fact that Miss. Spears should stick to her singing, which by the way is something I'm not very fond of since Britney possesses absolutely no vocal talents and only gets by with her looks but that's beside the point of how simply pathetic this motion picture is, this film is truly something you should avoid at "The Wiz" or wherever it is that you people by your movies. Britney Spears' debut is something she will categorically have a heart attack laughing over when she is much older because it is beyond doubt something she should be ashamed of. The whole pregnancy issue throughout the movie and the revelation of who the father is, is hilarious if I should say so myself...the fact that mimi was the one who wanted to be a singer and all of a sudden Lucy (Spears) gets the lead is somewhat annoying and also how they all go on a journey with a stranger who they suspect is a criminal...and Britney's "Crying" scene...I mean its simply too much for me...lol. Britney should undeniably contact singer/ACTRESS Mandy Moore for some acting coaching for she truly was magnificent in "A Walk To Remember" which is the kind of film that should be classified as "unique" unlike this shaggy dog story of a film. Darn it! I should've used the money I spent buying this movie to buy myself a tang-top or something more useful or maybe I should've donated [that money] to charity...hmm... Anyways if you do get a hold of this thing, which shouldn't at all be referred to as a movie, do the world and humans everywhere a big fat favor...BURN IT! Unless you accomplish the atrocious act of obtaining this joke of a film through BlockBuster, think about it before you do for you might later on find yourself in a bit of a predicament when you do have to return it. And again I ask...WHERE ARE THE SEMI-STARS??????
Rating: Summary: Good Movie Debut for Britney Review: This was a surprisingly entertaining movie for her debut and shows Britney can act very well. She has real talent and potential as an actress. Will do well with stronger material. Movie deals with 3 high school graduate (girls) on a roadtrip from Georgia to California (and/or Arizona) to deal with different issues, riding with a guy who has been in jail. Crossroads was obviously developed to plug Britney and her latest album. If you can put those issues aside, you can enjoy the performances of quite talented actors. If you can not accept this is (in part) a Britney marketing tool, do not buy. The plot for Crossroads was predictable but avoided most (but not all) of the mistakes of fluffy "teen" movies. There was enough depth to make it an interesting watch. My major criticism is the poor continuity between many of the scenes, but l guess it was low budget so they could not fix everything. Why did they not take the interstate? Obviously because they would not have had the nice scenery, which was beautifully presented, but the choice of route should have been built into the plot. I though the ending was worth waiting for, very nicely done. I recommend the DVD extras, especially the Making of Crossroads and music videos. Despite whether you are a Britney fan or not, the interviews with her are a fascinating look at someone who is VERY VERY successful. Overall, it was a surprisingly good (but far from great) movie and can be enjoyed by both young and older folk (good date movie). Crossroads is no "Glitter".
Rating: Summary: Good movie what is you problem Review: listen you know you people that make fun of britney make me sick you know why you just all jellous god do you people have any heart at all, ever were i go people say britney ... she this she that well you all don't need to now what brintey does or doesn't do.Oh i really love her movie crossroads it has a good story line what can i say i just like it. May i remind you people about something you hate britney just like you did Madonna now look at Modonna people like her she a icon here's something else if it was'nt for britney you all would have some really dumb music videos and there are some people that are inspired by britney just like britney was insired by Madonna to become a singer. So what i saying is just give britney a change she is a human just like you and me we all want to follow are dream and thats what britney did and you people sould follow your dreams too.
Rating: Summary: Actually decent Review: I rented this DVD simply for the Spears-in-panties-singing-Madonna opening scene, however I decided I might just watch the whole damn thing. Surprise! Spears can act! However, the movie is very predictable. It has constant cliches, and the script is pathetic. However, Spears does a pretty good job playing a smart girl. That's a damn big stretch. The most cheesy thing in the whole movie is in the first 10 minutes, when any normal girl would have taken her clothes off and gotten "banged" (edited for Amazon version), she gets all moral and says she doesn't want to do it... kudos to her mother, he succeeded. Also, the fact that Jamie-Lynn plays the young Lucy is greeeat.
Rating: Summary: Slow and boring Review: I rented this video out of curiosity and I wish I didn't. It was a total waste of money. It was boring and slow paced that I couldn't finish watching, I was falling asleep. Britney Spears did a horrible job acting, she was very phony. It is so typical that she would end up dancing and singing (which she cant do either) in the movie (ALA glitter). Don't waste your time and money on this piece of garbage. It is not worth it, I think I lost a few brain cells watching it.
