Summary: AWESOME, DUDE!
Review: The Red Seas have parted and in comes the Great Led Zeppelin!! (I'm just following the editorial lead...)Seriously, this is truly amazing, I just bought this DVD and sat through most of it. As a Zephead from the '80s, when my adolescence took place, I came to know this material existed. A 15 year wait has come to an end! And I just feel 15 again! It's hard to feel this enthusiastic about music after one reaches the '30', but this DVD has done it. From the photos I always knew they were the coolest looking band, and the video shows why. Plus, it has restored my faith in Led Zeppelin as a live act. The Song Remains wasn't great, and I have bootlegs in which they play horribly, bordering on amateurish...but this DVD shows that when Led Zeppelin rocked, everybody rolled! ;-)

Summary: Amazing Vintage Led Zeppeling On DVD
Review: WOW, I just got my copy of the Zeppelin DVD and How The
West Was Won audio CDs. This is truly amazing vintage
live Rock And Roll. The 70' Royal Albert Hall is of
excellent quality and over 90 minutes. Vintage live
Page,Plant,Jonesy, and Bonham. The video quality is 9
out of 10 and and the audio on the DVD is a "10".
The 3CD How The West Was Won audio set live from the
LA Forum 72' is by far the best live Zeppelin I have
heard in 25 years.

Well worth the purchase price for both the DVDs and
audio CDs.

Summary: Wonderful, but where is 1977?
Review: Finally! Excited about this release, however the absence of the brief 1977 Tour is a real disappointment. Anyone who has seen or heard boots from the 77' Tour knows what I'm talking about.

Looking forward to seeing the 75' Earl's Court performances which have some incredible moments. I imagine the 79' shows will have the best video coverage since they were pro-shot. The shows never stood out as being that great in my opinion.

I'm sure I'll still watch this DVD a million times.

Summary: the jury's still out folks
Review: Since everyone else is rating this DVD sight unseen, guess I might as well jump in, too.

I'll give it three stars 'cause it contains some of their great pre-1973 material.

Gotta deduct two stars for including anything from the Song Remains the Same tour. I saw one of the shows on that tour, and later saw the movie culled from the Madison Square Garden show of that tour, and both were terrible. Zep by that time was resting on their laurels, and/or too stoned to care.

I also saw them perform on their first US tour in 1970, at a little community center in Falls Church, Virginia. They were unbelievably good. For Jimmy Page to say they were always underground simply isn't true. Througout the release of that first album, yes. About halfway through the year LZ II was released they became rock and roll stars and started acting like them, too. Not that they didn't continue to record some great material but - and here again I have to disagree with Mr Page - they were no longer all that great a live band, much better in the studio. Just the opinion of a devoted Zep fan ...

Summary: Be Grateful !
Review: I was privileged to see a two hour preview at the cinema last night. Let me tell you - This is going to blow you away ! The Albert Hall performances were probably the most impressive because of sense of a 'just arrived' band and Percy's voice but on the whole the quality of the musicianship and restored sound was incredible. Only 'Stairway' from Knebworth sounded 'tired'.
Standouts for me were 'In my time of dying' from 1975 and 'Nobody's fault but mine' from 1979. Can't wait for the DVD !

Summary: Led Zeppelin Anyone? Get The Led Out Boys And Girls!
Review: "It's been a long time since I've Rocked and Rolled." Yeah, baby this should be sweet. I saw Robert Plant and Jimmy Page in concert in 1998 with two session musicians at the Cox Arena at San Diego State University and they blew the roof off the place.

I am sure this DVD will be well worth the wait and the money. My hope is that fans will buy this DVD in droves and prompt Robert Plant, Jimmy Page, John Paul Jones, and Jason Bonham (John Bonham's son) to go on tour as Led Zeppelin. What a great show that would be...I am keeping my fingers crossed, come on boys go on tour!
