Rating: Summary: Charlie Hunter: Amazing as Always Review: I became a Charlie Hunter fan when a friend introduced us via the album "Bing, Bing, Bing!". This is a very well recorded and arranged DVD; far better than the one released by WNED Buffalo for his 2001 performance at the Tralf during the Buffalo Niagra Guitar Festival (this was a limited release through WNED). Charlie Hunter is truly an innovative guitarist, and this DVD gives you a good look at just how impressive a feat playing an eight-string guitar is. Pick this DVD up...you won't be disappointed.
Rating: Summary: the best goddamn 8 string player ever..or at least so far Review: THE CDs IS GREAT, GET IT GET IT NOW.
Ok...i am a big fun of CH music and CH 8 guitar work. So of course i loved the DVD.
I'll be a little objective:
Sound: As good as it gets
Add ins: The angle camera is perfect to understand in a very detail way what the hell is this guy doing with his hands. (and even then you won't be able to get it.) This is a guitar-freak'feature.
Special features: non existant. At least not good features. You have some bios and pics....but you can get that form other sources.
Video: Plays nice. Image is good and you have plenty of cameras and shots to enyoy the perfomance. I didn't like that the show was presented in single performances. It should have been better to leave it with all the talking and geting a little groove out of the crowd.
The real downside of the DVD is the lack of other features like 'the making', an interview or a special feature that could give you and insight about Right Now Move CD or the musicians ' comments about the record and the show.
You get a little conversation at the end credits and it leaves you wanting more. Man you have a freaking chromatics harmonica and 8 string player among the other great musicians, how the hell you would't like to now more about them?
All in all the show is very entretaining. THe best performances were selected. The solo stuff is amazing and the band plays beautifully.
