Summary: Not up to expectations
Review: From when I saw the first ads for "Kiss - Live In Las Vegas" I was delighted as I was expecting a Kiss concert available at last on DVD. NOT SO! The four songs that are performed act more of a teaser as to what I would have liked to have seen. If you are suffering from insomnia you should sit down and watch the balance of the DVD in one sitting.

The extras are, in general, a waste of viewing time. There is no flow - only a series of press conferences and public appearances. The only "one on one" interview is the announcement of their final tour. The biggest waste of time would have to be Kiss talking to the press at the opening of the movie "Detroit Rock City". The fist few minutes has them arriving at the theatre then has about 6 minutes of them being filmed from about 10 feet away while the band talk to other reporters - you may as well be looking at a photo as you can't hear what they are saying.

If you want to get a good background on Kiss I would recommend you purchase "Kiss - The Second Coming" ...

Kiss have always maintained that the fans come first - this fan would like a Kiss concert on DVD - let's see how long it is before the band cater to the fan's requirements.

Summary: Disappointing Live Show
Review: As an old KISS fan from NY, I was somewhat disappointed by this DVD which contained only 4 songs. Furthermore, their usual energy and charisma do not come through at all on this recording. I guess they just tried to sell this concert since thy had made a recording of it. It's too bad.

Summary: A Kiss home release with a fitting title.
Review: "Live In Las Vegas - The unseen concert" is exactly that. The back of the DVD package reads "Kiss: Live In Las Vegas gives fans a chance to finally see the concert the fate denied them the first time around. This high-energy performance features some of their biggest hits and proves that they can indeed live up to the claim - You Wanted The Best, You Got The Best!!!!!!"

I picked this up right away hoping to sit back and enjoy a concert from my favorite band. Unfortunately, the concert consists of only four songs - "Shout It Out Loud", "Love Gun", God Of Thunder", and "Rock and Roll All Night". I would not consider that a concert by any means. A performance is more like it. Yeah, Kiss can pack the energy, power, excitement, and performance of most bands full concert in only four songs, but when you think you're getting a "concert" from these guys, only four songs is a major disappointment.

I realize now this was originally an internet performance of only four songs, but that should have been stated for those unaware of that fact. It should also NOT have been labeled a "Concert" but rather an "Internet Performance".

Their set kicks off with "Shout It Out Loud" which does not have the energy musically that I have seen from these guys in the past. The visual footage is great, but the tempo is a little slow. "Love Gun" is the high point and rocks as it always does. "God of Thunder" comes without Gene spitting blood or flying. It does have plenty of fire and it rocks hard with Gene's vocals given a demonic sound later in the song. "Rock and Roll All Night" is a little slow tempo wise too, but comes off with all the expected splendor. You get the fireworks going off all over, Ace's pinwheel fireworks on his guitar, plus lots and lots of confetti.

Overall the four songs are good. It's just not enough. They give you a "Directors Cut" and a "Multicam" version of the set. The "Mulitcam" version is cool. One problem I really had with the performance was the very cheesy "canned applause" that were thrown in throughout the set. It was like watching some corny show that adds the "canned laughter" where they want you to laugh. A very poor audio editing choice here.

The "Bonus Material" makes up about 75% of the DVD. The bonus features are; 1. Kiss Army - 2. Gene and Paul at Tower Records - 3. Interview with Larger Than Life - 4. Tribute Band "Larger Than Life" performance at the Key Club - 5. Farewell Tour Interview with the Band - 6. Gene and Paul Rock Walk Induction - 7. Peter Criss Rock Walk Induction - 8. Ace Frehley Rock Walk Induction - 9. Hollywood Walk of Fame Induction - 10. Detroit Rock City Premiere.

Most of this footage has been released before on fan released videos such as "Unauthorized". Some of the footage is very amateur but viewable. If you have not seen the bonus footage on previous releases, it makes for good viewing except for the "Detroit Rock City Premiere" footage which you can not hear what the band members are saying throughout most of it.

I was impressed musically with the tribute band "Larger Than Life" (from Northern California). They sounded great and their "Paul" was dead on for Paul's vocals. Looks wise their costumes are great, but their facial appearance was not much of a resemblance other than the fact that they were wearing the make-up. There is quite a bit of footage of these guys performing (as much or more than Kiss' performance footage).

In all, the DVD makes for good watching and is a must have for any Kiss Collection. The title is very misleading. If you know this before you pick this one up, you won't be as disappointed as I was at first. Then again, this was released by Pixelon.com Inc. and not Kiss so, being misleading in order to cash in on the Kiss name could be expected.

With any luck Kiss will release a full DVD concert in the future and maybe even some more old rare footage packages. They have plenty of it. Until then look for the bootleg items to add to your collection.

Summary: Not a full concert, but NOT a ripoff!!!!
Review: ... The concert is fine, it isn't earth shattering, but the guys haven't done that since the 70's... it's fun to watch and it sounds great. The price couldn't be ANY lower for this thing, and you DO get some interesting bonus stuff on this. I'm never going to be in LA so getting to see the guys get their star on the Walk of Fame is a real gas, along with some other stuff I have never seen before... and as a REAL bonus, I got to watch the concert again with the four camera option. That is what really impressed me, getting to see what each individual camera saw that night.

Summary: O-Ma-Ghog!!!!
Review: Alright, I was warned that there were only 4 songs but so be it. Figured at least it was a HIGH quality live recording. However, this was the most pathetic performance of a signed arena act EVER. They plodded through the songs so slow I thought Eric Carr would've climbed out of the grave. The best part of the DVD (if you want to here KISS with the energy of the 70's)is watch the tribute band footage. They blew KISS out of the water. Also the 1st black Paul Stanley I've seen. He even sounds better that Paul lately. Wish I spent the dough on BRITNEY SPEARS---------------better cheek!

Summary: Live in Las Vegas unseen internet broadcast
Review: Ok. before I recieved this DVD I read Alot of reviews with complaints that it was not a full concert...I had misgivings at first, but if you read the jacket on th DVD. It is EXACTLY what is supposed to be...a DVD of the proformance in LasVegas that was meant origionally for internet broadcast. The show itself was no longer than 4 songs...that was it. No one missed anything more...4 songs end of show. Thats all there ever was. It was never supposed to be a full concert. The DVD itself was excellant. I thought the picture and sound quallity were great. The 4 camera angle feature let you see what everyone was doing throughout the show. I thought the directors version was great!
MOST OF ALL, I enjoyed the extras...the interviews, the box set signings, and the proformances of the tribute band. They were GREAT! I think that for what it was the DVD was GREAT! I did not feel shortchanged, or mislead...of course, I read the package BEFORE I watched it!

Summary: KISS, Don't Let Me Down Next Time!!
Review: I have been kiss fan for 16 years. I want to say is this DVD really let me down! It's only 4 songs. The bonus are not surprising either. This DVD is not authorized by KISS. We hope the real full length make-up concerts DVD will published as soon as possible. DON'T LET ME DOWN AGAIN, KISS!!

Summary: Deceptively Packaged and Just Plain Rotten
Review: Some previous reviewers issued disclaimers saying that the band had no blame in this terrible concoction. Another reviewer said that the fans should have done their research, as if to say "it's your own damn fault" to those who bought this lemon.

But the band does DOES deserve some of the blame for ever having done this stupid Vegas show in the first place. As we see in the obnoxious little intro, this was not a KISS concert at all. Rather, KISS was included on the bill with a number of other bands. The kings of rock and roll shouldn't stoop so low as to share the bill with a half dozen other bands that are not as good as KISS. They are just too good for that.

And let's face it fellow fans; the guys agreed to do a MINI KISS CONCERT! A Reader's Digest version of the greatest show on earth! That's just plain sacrilege! It's iconoclasm at its worst and its a mockery of a great band. Being the business genius that he is, Gene should have known that this thing would find its way onto store shelves.

None of this would have happened if KISS had beaten them to the punch. They should have released a live DVD, since their fans will never again get to seem them live. The fans are itching for a DVD like this, and Pixelworks (or whoever they are) took advantage of this.

Shame on all of you!!

Summary: Great Performance by KISS!!!!!!!!!!!
Review: ...It's a little disappointing that it's not a full 2/3 hour concert but, it wasn't licensed to be realsed by the band. With all that already known I have to say that the four songs performed are incredibly well done!!! The extras are ok, they could have been done better. Now what I want to see is "KISS:UNPLUGGED" back on DVD, now that was a concert!!!!!!

Summary: this DVD Sucks!
Review: Ok, I bought this disc because I really wanted to see it! I am a life long KISS fan, but this thing is a complete [waste of money]. Basically you're paying for five yes five songs. The footage looks to be so over produced that somehow, it looks like kiss is lipsyching with the music. Though in most parts it is obvious that the music was recorded live. There is almost NO audiance noise excpt what was looped in after the fact...
