Rating: Summary: This is great music, whether a fan or just a casual listener Review: George Michael, who is seemingly in the spotlight or just on the edge, is all but forgoten here in the U.S. This video, which is just about all of his completed work, is an absolute MUST for any fan, but also a great collection for an average listener. It contains what I believe is one of his most moving tracks "Waltz away Dreaming" which was written by George and Tony Bourke, about George's mothers death. In the last scene, George has a line "She's waiting for you... father" and I swear, the imagery is tear jerking. I beautiful video collection. If this is on it's way to DVD, I REALLY hope they include the two missing videos "Older" which I've never seen and "As" which I have seen, but only on a CD compression. "As", by the way, is simply increadable and the computer effects are absolute top of the line. Great Great Job George, you are the Best, and this collection comfirms it!
Rating: Summary: Awesome Review: I am a big GM fan. The clips from MTV unplugged are well worth the price of the DVD.
Rating: Summary: Must buy??? Review: I am a HUGE George Michael fan, but you have to admit. George Michael is not a great dancer. The way he dances is very cheesy, and it gets worse when he is dressing like a police officer. Some videos are excellent especially performance from MTV Unplugged. "Jesus To a Child," "Waltz Away Dreaming" and some videos are very interesting to watch. But there are some irritating factors you can't help but notice. Hair pieces in "A Different Corner," Fake guiter playing in "Kissing A Fool," and not to mention toilet dancing in Police Officer's uniform "Outside" that almost makes you think you are watching Village People. It's a head to head competition with "Wake Me Up Before You Go-Go" for the most lame video. I think great music itself could survive and speak to people's heart. This may be a must buy (?) for hard core George Michael fan. But I would be completely satified with his music without any visual effect. If you are gonna buy this video, try finding his hair piece and fake playing. You will get enjoyment out of this video.
Rating: Summary: Finally, something more or less complete and satisfying! Review: I am absolutely thrilled about the fact that DVD edition is so much better than VHS one. I mean, I love GM's videos (except for Monkey), so VHS was very good, too. But, how nice it is to see the BBC interview, too! I have heard this interview on the radio, but was very eager to see it....It is very funny! DVD also has one more track-Older. The overall DVD quality is superb and the amazon.com price is excellent, too. My only regret is that we were, once again, not to see "As" (good video, by the way), and "Roxanne" (which is once again banned in States as of now, I guess). Well, we'll probably have to wait for another tape to be released altogether. Let's be patient and wait, once again, for GM deserves that...
Rating: Summary: VERY IMPRESSED Review: i am not a huge fan of george micheal or at least i wasnt until i watched this complication of his videos. i used to like him a little bit and only got the dvd initially because i liked the videos and songs for too funky and fast love and i was pretty young when george micheal was at the height of his popularity but i still liked his videos and thought he was good singer but im not that big of a wham fan...after seeing all these videos and his amazing talent and singing i am very impressed and liked all the videos but my favorite were outside cause i thought it was funny and i liked how he could make fun of the fact that he was caught doing that and i liked fastlove and killer and too funky and father figure and many more .. they were all excellent and unique videos. i was extremely impressed on the song somebody to love- he really showed his talents. i recomend this dvd to anyone and its worth the money even if youre not a huge george micheal fan.
Rating: Summary: Better by himself than with Wham! Review: I first bought the Ladies & Gentlemen CD audio and I was quite sure this DVD won't dissapoint me, and it didn't. Though there are some videos missing from the original Cd, like the one with Astrud Gilberto, but it is nicely complemented with live performances on MTV unplugged series, and on the BBC Live Parkinson show. The DVD quality is excellent, and it is just what I expected from it, it has easy access menus, and it has the read along lyrics in three different languages. Definetely one music video DVD you must own, specially if you like nice pop music like the one from George Michael.
Rating: Summary: I loved it! Review: I loved this video. Very creative and very sexy
Rating: Summary: Can a artist be more complete than George Michael? Review: I loved to buy the Ladies & Gentlemen album. The best aquisition that I've done in years. The video of "Outside" is genial and very critical. When I saw the video "Fast Love" for the first time, I stoped at the dancefloor to see the special efects of changing people in a bed, as the future of cyber sex. No comments for "Freedom '90", it's a classic with Linda Evangelista, Naomi Campbell, Cindy Crawford and others beauties of nature. "Too Funky" follow the same line with humour. "Killer/Papa Was A Rolling Stone" with references to PopArt (Soda Generation) and jokes of words. I realy loved the new version of "The Strangest Thing". Please producers, keep this newest on the video. At "Desafinado" was a honor listen my favorite artist singing my language (Portuguese). Thanks God to show me a good example of artist, performer and person.Alexandre Datilo, São Paulo - BRAZIL / E-Mail: datilo@netway.com.br
Rating: Summary: George Michael - More than I expected. Review: I only bought this compilation because I am very much in love with his song Freedom (not to mention the video). Actually it took me a while to get the collection, but I was glad I got it after all. When I actually made the time to experience it, I found myself rediscovering George Michael's artistic ability, or should I say artistic vision. One can use many Adjectives to describe performers; the most common used to describe him from other people was "cheesy". I always questioned that, and since taking in this video collection I find that I disagree. George Michael is a man that has created a curiously COURAGEOUS artistic portfolio. What I mean by courage is that he is very able to easily poke fun at the whole notion that he is a "SUPERSTAR", he is able to project himself as human, as emotional, and able to enjoy his mistakes - especially with the "Outside" video (and the incident involving his arrest). It is almost a slap in the face to his critics saying that you would probably do it too, if you had the chance that is; or that you would at least think about it. I actually salute him for that. This video compilation is outstanding, to say the least. One has to remember that to keep things interesting it takes a very creative mind - he manages to create beautiful visions. Take a look for yourself and you will see that each and every video depicts beauty in some form or another, or at least beauty that is easy on the eyes - if one is able to appreciate the human form. His work is tainted with sexual references, but the tint is soft, pleasing and it wont chafe your eyes. I recommend it!
Rating: Summary: The wait is FINALLY over, but where are the Other videos! Review: If you are a fan and have been keeping an eye out for this DVD, then rejoyce! The wait is over. If you are a True FAN... you not only knew this was coming out but probably saw the ads for it a few months ago. In those ads, it promised the Making of As... nowhere on the Disc! Not only was the US deprived of the duet with Mary J. Blidge, but now the long awaited DVD that can hold HOURS of video... leaves it out! On the whole, this is a GREAT BUY and I would recomend this to ANYBODY who lives good music! This has an interview and two videos that were released only as bonus items on a few of the George imports (singles). If you are looking for a near complete record of GM's hits, then look no farther, if you are looking for Everything he has done(like I was hoping for) keep writing the Record company and lets get AS and Older here for us to view in the states! I love your stuff George! Keep up the fantastic work!
