Summary: A priceless documentary of blues history
Review: The interviews alone are worth the price of the video. They provide historical documentation of both the folk revival and the blues revival movements that were happening in the late 50s and early 60s, and each interview clip is accompanied by an example of Van Ronk's performance of a song by the subject. Van Ronk discusses first-hand meetings with such legends as Josh White (Sr., not Jr.), Sonny Terry, Bob Dylan, Tom Paxton, etc. etc. His performance is perhaps not as smooth or effective as it was when he was younger, but his knowledge and love of the music is there. This is a video that I will watch again and again, and show to friends. And . . . there are even bonus tracks for those who wish to attempt the near-impossible feat of trying to play the guitar like the master.
