Summary: Great DVD
Review: This is a great DVD!
The Dixie Chicks are an excellent live band, with a huge amount of talent! They are also very entertaining performers - they tell stories, they're enthusiastic, & they seem to be having a good time.
The sound quality here is great, as is the camera work. The only (very minor) gripe I have is that there were no extra's on the DVD, like interviews, or behind the scenes footage.
All in all, this is a great show, & I highly recommend it!

And one other thing, it's amusing when Natalie Maines mentions her big mouth getting her into trouble - very prophetic, given what was to come!

Review: Not only are these young musicians to be commended for exercising their right of Free Speech, but also for producing an excellent product for the music-loving world. I had not realized just how very talented they are. I give this DVD the highest recommendation possible!

Summary: Chicks Rule
Review: First of all I want to star by saying the Dixie Chicks rule!!! Thanks for finally bringing them into our homes on DVD. This dvd shows the ability fo the Dixie Chicks have to be versatile with their music and the instruments that they play. This is a great dvd, if you missed it when it aired originally it is most definitely well-worth the money to purchase it.

Summary: Simply amazing
Review: I'm not a long time country or bluegrass fan. Actually, it has been a nice new thing in the last couple of years of my life. Like with everything else I get into I try to be as thorough as I can. I have discovered that Dixie Chicks are in the top of this genre world (no pun intended). They are great! This DVD proves it beyond doubts. They have the musical and entertaining skills. The DVD is amazing because it lets you hear the amazing whole "Home" material with the special flavor of a live performance, plus some "old treats" in fresh versions. I normally don't care for videos very much and tend to favor the CD. In this case, I have to admit that the DVD is a great thing! The sound is terrific, the songs are wonderful and the comments of the Chicks about the songs truly enhance the experience of listening to them. The quality of the video is outstanding and the setting is overwhelming. The Kodak teather (specially adapted for the ocassion) provides a visual treat. The video is crisp and the colors marvelous. In the final edition, however, there is a combination between video and film images that sometimes might be distracting. It is unclear, from this viewer point of view what was the intention in doing this changes of image, specially so often and abundantly. In spite of that minor detail, I thoroughly enjoy the DVD and I recomeded to anyone who enjoys a session of good quality, honest music.

Summary: An Evening with the Dixie Chicks DVD
Review: I was real excited when I saw this released on DVD with 5.1 channel digital audio.....that is until I heard it....the audio is very disappointing! If I wanted to listen to the Dixie Chicks in Monoraul, I would listen to them on my transistor radio... Come on ladies....give us something exciting...I am still waiting.....................get a new sound man....

Summary: Nice concert and Worst video editing
Review: The performance is very good. I also think the sound is nice.
But video editing is the worst. I am not comfortable to see that. The changing of camera angle is terrible. Without that, this DVD is the best of the best.

Summary: There are still musicians out there
Review: This is a very unusual concert. The Chicks play their latest album from beginning to end, in order, before it is even released to the public. That ladies and gentlemen takes a lot of guts. It is a tribute to the talent of these women to see how well all of the songs go over, even though for the most part no one has ever heard them. I love good musicians and Emily and Martie rank right up there with some of the best. Because this is essentially an unplugged concert both women truly shine and there are plenty of moments where they demonstrate their instrumental prowess.

Natalie has only improved as a performer. I thought she was tentative in the early days of the Chicks, but those days are gone. She has great stage presence and has the audience completely enthralled with every word. It is also easy to see how this very outspoken woman often gets herself in trouble. In the intro to Godspeed she starts off on a tirade about parental rights in Tennessee and quickly stops herself. I think we all got her point anyway, which makes the whole Chicks/President Bush thing even more absurd. Yes, she is outspoken and yes she is going to say things that can be controversial. But folks, that's America and that's freedom. I hope she never tones it down.

The only negatives I have with the DVD are the camera work. The cameraperson on the right front seems to have a problem with balance. Everytime they switch to that camera it is wobbling all over the place(think Blair Witch project). Fortunately the producer realizes that also and after a few songs they give up on him(or her). Some fans will be dissapointed to see so many of the hits missing since this is mostly a celebration of the Home album, but sooner or later there will be another Chicks DVD and I have the feeling this is the only place you will ever hear some of these songs live. Buy it, you won't regret it.

Summary: Ban the Chicks
Review: Natalie should be banned in the USA and stay out of Texas! To have been raised in the Lone Star state she is a disgrace. "Don't Mess with Texas"

Review: What a waste of time! They should move to Paris and learn how to "twang" in French.

Summary: Awesome!
Review: These ladies are extemely talented and this live DVD proves that no studio magic is needed to make these women sound as good as they do. They are spontaneous, funloving and full of life. I never knew women could play like Martie and Emily, they blew me away, and Natalie's voice delivers the goods whether on a ballad or on a musical whirlwind like White Trash Wedding. When each of these ladies strengths are summed along with an uncanny harmony, they can't be beat. I can't wait to see them live this year in the Top of The World Tour, but I'm glad I have this DVD to make the experience last!
