This collection, dubbed "Classic Rock," offers a fascinating combination of artists of the 1960s and early 1970s, filmed live on Musikladen, the German equivalent of such American TV rock-show staples of the 1970s and early 1980s as The Midnight Special and Don Kirshner's Rock Concert, shows that featured the popular groups of the time playing their hit of the moment. This particular selection of clips includes one-shot wonders like Kiki Dee ("I've Got the Music in Me") to monsters like Alice Cooper ("I'm 18"), from pop-schlock like Johnny Rivers, Bachman-Turner Overdrive, and Three Dog Night to such genuine powers of the day as Canned Heat, Humble Pie, Ten Years After, and the Doobie Brothers. The live performances themselves reveal just how solid the musicians were, whether it's Al Wilson's slide guitar on Canned Heat's "Let's Work Together" or ringing harmonies of Graham Nash and the Hollies on "Look Through Any Window."
