Summary: Nah, not as good as Live After death
Review: Anything and everything maiden gets compared with Live After death...Heck I might as well tell you right away that this one doesn't even come close... But anyways, it's maiden... so i bought it! :) And yeah... i find that the vocal level on this DVD is terribly low... I find that rather annoying.

Summary: Don't be disappointed..Avoid this DVD &wait for the new one
Review: As a huge Maiden fan, I was extremely disappointed w/this release. The 5.1 sound didn't even function properly and the overall sound was poor. Second, whenever the concert energy was building they would cut to the lame illusionist who was boring. Third, I've seen Maiden live 2 times and you can see that Bruce isn't even into the show. Avoid this disc and wait for the one being recorded in January.

Summary: 2 Starts, only because its Maiden
Review: Being a huge Iron Maiden fan, I had to see this DVD in 5.1 format. I can't express the dissapointment in the sound. As a previous person posted, you can't hear Bruce's vocals. I anxiously changed all possible setting in my receiver in hopes that it would make a difference. No chance. It is terrible. Even the two-channel option was unacceptable. I also thought the magic and other stuff was kind of cheesy, maybe it's because I'm in my thirtys and no longer a teen. But, Maiden is about the music and nothing else. As far as the performances, I was dissapointed in that as well. Hopefully, they release another DVD of Live after Death with better results.

Summary: For Completists Only
Review: Being such a big Maiden fan, this DVD comes as a major disappointment.
Part of it was anticipated.
I already had the material for years on tape, and I knew what to expect. The sloppy band performance. The zombie-like Bruce, his blank stare into a void just above the audience's heads. Janick hopping all over the stage, destroying every solo in his wake. Dave missing his parts. And, that illusionist. That horrible, corny illusionist. Yes, I knew all of that already.
Part of it was not anticipated.
This being a DVD, I expected to see some more clarity, soak in some more detail. Nope, wasn't there. And the 'remastering' to 5.1 surround format really destroys everything. An already sloppy concert became totally inaudible. Maybe for good? :)
I'm just glad by owning this DVD I have never missed any major Maiden release.

Summary: Where's "Live after Death"?????
Review: Dear Iron Maiden: Please do us all a favor and release "Live After Death" on DVD. Why would you release "Raising Hell" on DVD instead, which is substandard when compared to the great "Live After Death"? I only give this 3 stars because it is at a good price and the only Iron Maiden DVD you can get right now.

Summary: maiden has done better
Review: Don't get me wrong I am a huge Iron Maiden Fan.. and Have been since the killers album. "Yes album", but this concert video lacks the spirit of a true maiden concert. The vibe just is not there, with the weak cut backs to simon drake. With the reformation of maiden with Bruce, after 10 years I hope that they put on dvd the videos and Live After Death concert.. The 5.1 is good and the menus are cool.. but the its the vibe that lacks, with this being the last tour for Bruce he is in great vocal form, but lacks the energy, of previous works.. I hope the New album ROCKS! LONG LIVE MAIDEN! Plus with this being the only Maiden on DVD, it is still the best rocking dvd out!

Summary: MUY BUEN CONCIERTO!!!
Review: Es un concierto un poco diferente a los que Maiden hacen, ya que hay ejecuciones de ilusión óptica muy reales. Es un DVD recomendable para los coleccionistas de buenos conciertos, claro no le llega en nada al Live after dead y mucho menos al Rock n' Río pero está dentro de los buenos.

Summary: Lack of Enthusiasm
Review: First off, the sound quality is horrible. It sounded like a poor bootleg copy. Second, Bruce put no energy into his singing. You can tell he is burnt out and is glad to leave the band. But the rest of the band played amazing as always. And don't even get me started on the magic show..... those had to be the lamest tricks I have ever seen. The Ronald McDonald magic show was more believable.

Summary: Worth the Money
Review: First the positives: 1.) Iron Maiden, lets face it even on a bad day they blow the roof off the venue. 2.) Iron Maiden on DVD (very cool) 3.) Bruce's farewell concert (a cool nostalgia trip) 4.) Creative set design and "concept" of combining "horror Illusions" in-between the songs. Unless you have seen this it does seem a bit lame combining both a live concert with "illusions/comedy". But, Simon Drake blends his very believable illusions in-between such classics as The Trooper, Number of the Beast, Hallowed be Thy Name amongst other classics. Now the negatives: 1) The audio mix; I have to agree with the other reviewers Bruces' voice level is way too low on the 5.1 setting. However, if you choose the stereo option the voice level goes up but Dave Murray's guitar level goes down and Janick guitar is too loud (ya just can't win). 2.) Janick Gers 3.) Janick Gers Prior to Adrian Smith's departure Iron Maiden had two guitarists with very different styles. One (Murray) was a fly by the seat of his pants kind of guitarists (i.e. solo's made up on the spot) the other (Smith) would play well thought out melodic solo's. Both styles would add a very unique dimension to the music. Unfortunately, Janick Gers is like having two Murrays (and he's even more off the cuff then Dave). Janick butchers many of Adrians solo's so bad I actually cringed when I heard them. Thank god that Adrian is back with Maiden now. So in summary, If you have a DVD player this is well worth the small investment. But, this is certainly no "Live after Death". Up the Irons
