Summary: Always as good as the best are!
Review: This dvd shows again how top class band is the Scorpions. Their never get tired to play even better songs that their have done. And forget the word..."still" good, "still" playing etc. There is no other band as the Scorpions and enjoy the fact that they want to play and compose today and tomorrow.

Summary: Scorpions and Rock Are Back!!
Review: This video is amazing! Matthias Jabs is one of the best guitarists in the world. Schenker one of the best composers. Klaus one of the best singers. Berlin the best orchestra in the world. C'mon, it doesn't get any better than this. Scorpions show their stuff in this video. Great sound, feels like your there. Rock n' roll is coming back!!

Summary: Not so glorious moment
Review: Though I am one of the Scorpions biggest fan, I am dissapointed with selection of songs that the Scorpions and the Berlin Philharmonic have chosen to perform in such a big scale event. Unlike their previous concert, this concert has failed to glue me to my sofa set. In fact, Scorpions concert in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia few years back is much more dynamic and entertaining than this one.

Picture quality however, is superb. Body movements made by the Scorpions or the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra while playing their instruments were captured with excellent clarity. Full five stars for video quality.

Audio quality is generally good provided one turn their amplifier volume knob anywhere below 9 o'clock position. The sound engineer may have decided to record the entire concert in hall concert mode. Eventhough this approach will make the listener at home feel exactly how the audience at the concert felt, however, this will resulted in too much echoes and unwanted noises to appear once the listener at home move their amplifier volume higher up. Furthermore, in certain instances, the sound from the orchestra overshadowed the sound from the Scorpions itself. For audio quality enthusiast, please take note that the concert was recorded on a 5.0 channel and not 5.1 channel as stated in the backcover.

To all Scorpions fans, try listen to Hurricance 2000 and We Don't Own The World. The dramatic sound from the orchestra and the powerful rock music from the Scorpions blended very well in these two songs.

Lastly about the Director's Cut. Even though the scenes look pretty much the same but I noticed that the costumes wear by Klaus Maine and Mathias Jabb in Here In My Heart were totally different with that of concert version of the same song. Where the director get this from anyway?

Summary: This one blows your mind!
Review: To be honest, I've always despised classical Western music and I've never cared much about the Scorpions. Having watched this DVD though, I'm an changed man. This concert just blows my mind. The Scorpions' songs here are mostly ballads, with a few big-time rockers thrown in, and the classical orchestra enhances each one song tremendously - the "classical guys" rock like there's no tomorrow. Roll over Beethoven and make way for the Berlin Philharmonic and the Scorpions! A lot of credit must go to the arranger, Christian Kolonovits, who's done an incredible job merging rock and classics to nobody's detriment, far from it: the two styles compliment each other perfectly, the combination is much more than the two individual parts could ever be. Compared to this performance, Metallica's classical excursion, not to speak of Deep Purple's and Procol Harum's efforts in the seventies, seem like kindergarten stuff. Granted, some of the Scorpions' songs are a bit of the soppy side, but in this concert (during the World Exhibition in Hanover) this soppiness or sentimentality seems to help spread an enormous sense of bonhomie and brotherhood among the very mixed (age-wise as well as nationality-wise) audience. They all seem to have an whale of a good time. Boy, how I wish I had been there! I have watched this DVD many times over, and I still get goose pimples every time. This is art, folks, true art! Take it from a former non-believer. Aside, the cinematography is fantastic and one feels like one is right up there with the musicians.

Summary: GOOD BUT NOT the BEST THEY HAVE
Review: Well I enjoyed this dvd to a point, but I think the over use of the orchestra took something away from the edginess of these guys.I am a big scorpions fan first seeing them in 1978 at Chicago fest and as such would have liked to see some of their older stuff played. I still enjoyed this dvd and would say get it if you like them at all. Klaus Meine still sounds good, but the kids choir sing along on a few songs really did not add anything. Anyway you still will get some enjoyment from this dvd just don't expect it to be the hardcore rock that is really the SCORPS !
