Summary: Good Performance but lacks sound quality
Review: Stevie puts on a dynamite performance that makes this one worth the buy, but the audio quality is only fair to poor. It lacks midrange and appears to be just a copy of the VHS with no digital sound upgrade. Most analog recordings can outshine this one by far. I used a 24 band EQ to try and help it along, yet it still lacked brilliance, and did not mirror the sound character that this live performance had. There are no extras on this DVD, and no special features that most concert type DVDs usually have. Save the price of the DVD, and just buy the VHS;it will probably be just as good, or perhaps even better!

Summary: Good video!
Review: Stevie's voice is going through a slight change on this video but it was good vocals on it mostly, EXCEPT I didn't like low growls on Edge of 17 and "Talk To Me". "No Spoken Word" I had never heard this song before I bought the video but it is a good song and I like it. Stevie of course does some changes to some of the songs lyrics. The 15-minute talking/singing version of "Edge of Seventeen" wasn't my favorite. "Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You" , was the highlight for me because the vocals were very much like on the CD and it was a good performance. The downside to this video was the annoying fake close-ups which they made later and added to the video later. I think they tried TOO hard on special effects on this video. "I Need to Know" was as usual, not too much changing. "Stand Back" was Ok , with it's very long intro before the singing. The dance sequence Stevie did with some guy was good in this song. I was dissapointed to see Mick Fleetwood so little. Stevie did a lot of dancing and some kicks especially in "Stand Back" . I liked "Outside the Rain" but "Dreams" wasn't too good. "Beauty and the Beast" is GREAT with nice vocals and the most beautiful sparkly white long cape/shawl she wore. The release of the "White winged doves" after "Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You" was very cool and Stevie seemed to like it alot. The intro to the video with the plane and the people goin up the mountain and Stevie waving to fans was nice. Stevie was nice to greet the fans so much after the very long "Edge of 17". It is a good video with nice vocals but definatly not as good as her "In Concert" video from 1982 , maybe cuz it was missing the FM Goodies such as "Gold Dust Woman" and "Rhiannon". I would say it was worth the money and suggest buying it!

Summary: SHE'S GOOD BUT WIRED VERY TIGHT
Review: Stevie's voice was reduced to a raspy croak by the time "Red Rocks" came out, but there are a couple of songs that are great. The opening number, "Outside the Rain" is great, and Stevie does well with "Stand Back" and "Has Anyone Ever Written Anything For You." Several songs are disappointing: "Talk to Me" sounds better on the CD and the closing version of "Edge of Seventeen" is awful. Stevie talk-sings her way through most of this song. The highlight of the show is her harried but ultimately gorgeous version of "Beauty and the Beast." Hearing Stevie struggle triumphantly the the chorus of "I never doubted your beauty..I've changed" is moving.

Summary: DVD no different than VHS
Review: The main thing I want to point out is there is NO additional footage or features on the DVD vs. the VHS. Of course, I've owned the VHS forever...but, being a devoted fan, I purchased the DVD hoping for SOMETHING - ANYTHING - unique about it from the VHS. It's identical. So, if you are like me, and wanted the DVD soley for the reason of hoping for any additional footage or interviews or anything, don't waste your money.

As far as the actual content, everyone else who has reviewed the footage seems to be pretty on-target. Yes, she is "flying far above you" on cocaine. Yes, the producers HAD to add closeups of her lip-synching the songs, in a sober state, much later in the process. She was a mess during the "real" concert footage. The closeups were quite obviously added in at a different time, and a different place. I don't think the producers had much choice - except to not release it at all. I'd prefer to see it in "before and after drug abuse fashion" than not at all. What is interesting about the footage is that this was the LAST performance she did while on cocaine. Directly after doing this concert, she went to Betty Ford - and she hasn't done any cocaine since 1986.

If nothing else, it chronicles a time in her life that has passed. Now she's healthy and more beautiful than ever...and she will rock a little for the rest of her life.

Summary: Red Rock Video
Review: The only reason I gave it 3 stars is because it's Stevie Nicks. It's a upsetting to me because you can tell it's a bad time in her life by her performance and by the editing of the video. If you can get you hands on Stevie Nicks in Concert video snatch it. This concert made me a fan for life the first time I saw it on HBO in the early 1980's. Everytime they played it my eyes were clued to the TV....I couldn't get enough. If your looking for some good Mac video get The Dance

Summary: Stevie @ Red Rocks
Review: This DVD is POWERFUL! The combination of wide open mountain splendor - brought together with Stevie Nicks and her star filled band - enhanced and enchanted the innocence of untouched beauty that seemed to embrace the audience. The music and energy of Stevies music pierces the darkness - and even lightning flashes in rythem with the band. The special effects ghosts Stevie - and captures her spirit in many different sets - as if the meaning of the lyrics begin to be revealed in your soul.

At the close of the evening - white wing doves are released - one is given to Stevie as a token of appreciation - when Stevie tries to set the dove free - seems the dove agrees with Stevies fans and wishes the night to never end - she embraces the dove and keeps it along with her audience - players - the night at Red Rocks! This is a must buy for every fan of Stevie Nicks - you have just have to experience this one for yourself! You'll find no danger here!

Summary: Timeless is the prisoner in disguise...
Review: This is a fabulous live concert! The ancient red rocks and a rich Colorado sunset create the mood for Stevie to give us a piece of her soul. She shares a very emotional Beauty and the Beast. The gothic spirit cry she wails from Edge of Seventeen is entrancing. Her lifestyle has begun to take it's toll emotionally, but it's always been her ability to sing through the torment and that is the magic. Her interaction with the audience is beautiful. The releasing of the doves was fabulous!!

Review: This is a must see video. The music is live . My favorite moments were with the white winged doves, Stevies tears of joy, the drama and theatrical lights sounds, and cameras at the concert.Beauty and the Beast was by far intense and seemed to have more meaning to it than meets the eye. Stevie is what made Fleetwood Mac! Fleetwood Mac would of never made it without Stevie. She has a special magic about her! Wicca and a God consciousness about her.See the woman behind the voice.Don't miss this and the DVD for pure energy, magic,&power. by Deb

Review: This is one dvd that could have been alittle better! There were some awesome camara shots and quality sound but only 9 song selections, and not all the ones I wanted to hear like beauty and the beast, come on.Also,be ready it was filmed in the '80's so its reflected the time.
