Summary: A Classic DVD From A Classic Era Of a Classic Band.
Review: In the modern age of Pop/Rock music, it is quite often a rarity to find a band as hard working and determined as The Corrs.And in 1998 in the heat of thier Promotional tour for their latest album Talk On Corners they landed what would be one of thier best gigs yet.
After practically selling their first album door to door in 1995-97,the band finally recieved mass success in the UK with their hit cover of Fleetwood Mac's "Dreams" and that would only lay the foundation for a good many ears and eyes to recieve the music of The Corrs in their own home.
Originally broadcasted in the UK, The Corrs: Live At The Royal Albert Hall was finally recieved by American fans later that following year.
In My opinion their performance is raw yet flawless as they showcase thier true talents blended with a Celtic heartbeat. In fact as I mentioned above, with their cover of Fleetwood Mac's "Dreams" they are accompanied by McFleetwood on (I believe) 3 tracks on this DVD. One highlight of the DVD is watching Caroline Corr play drumside with McFleetwood during "Dreams" and through the classic Irish traditional set "Toss The Feathers". McFleetwood truly looks like a primal beast up on that set as he beats out some AMAZING rythym and rolls.
Vocally They sound astounding. Visually the DVD provides a simple yet detailed look into a live Corrs show, Thus examplifying how they work as a unit live in concert. The Show has a few different sound options (that which I cannot remember at the moment) but if you have a good stereo system, this show will sound almost real . . . I played it on my Dolby system at my father's home and I was absolutely blown away, It sounds as though you are really there and once again visually (Along with Audio) the show is truly amazing.
In the end I HIGHLY suggest adding "The Corrs: Live At Royal Albert Hall" to your personal concert DVD collection. Once again this is a great band but an even greater DVD. Enjoy!

Summary: AN AUDIOPHILE APPROACH
Review: It SOUNDS truly amazing!! A must have for audiophiles who own a decent Home Theatre system irrespective of whether they are hardcore Corrs fans.
I was desperately on the hunt to buy a professionally & aesthetically mastered 5.1 mix which could unveil the sonic highlights of my new HT system. I believe this DVD rendered that faithfully by precisely bringing out the subtle nuances in the Irish clefs of `Corrs' compositions. Unlike most concert DVD's, there's a perfect blend mastered to bridge highs and lows. It's really appreciable that such detail could be captured out of a live performance-Andrea's vocal extents and the aery notes of her tin whistle, the skin stretch on the Caroline's base drum & bhodhran, the brushing `zzzzz' of the horse tail on Sharon's fiddle, the plucktrum strums over Jim's 6 strings, everything is discretely audible in spite of being perfectly coalesced. 5 stars to all those recording and mastering intellects who worked on this compilation.
So don't think twice if you need to carry away yourselves into a sonic ecstasy with crystal clear video and a goosebump ride (especially those featuring Mick Fleetwood as special guest) for 85 minutes. However, I would recommend a high end HT system to enjoy this DVD as intended.

Summary: Irish With English Charm
Review: Near the beginning of the concert, Andrea Corr tells the audience she wants this Saint Patrick's day concert to be special. And special it is. Pure Corrs before their music was corrupted by Mutt Lange ("In Blue".) Things get off to a slow start, but they don't stay there long. The songs are fresh and the excitement of the group comes through in their performance. The appearance by Mick Fleetwood is an extra treat. Only critism is audience mix is very low in the surrounds.

Summary: Very Well Done
Review: Nicely performed live concert by the talented Irish Corrs group, recorded on St. Patrick's Day 1998 (Caroline Corr's 25th birthday), at the famed Royal Albert Hall. Good song selection from their then two recorded releases. Musicianship is tight and skilled by the Corr siblings and two back-up members. Many shots of youngest sister and lead vocalist, Andrea, who's beautiful voice and looks are enough alone to hold a viewer's attention. Oldest sister, Sharon, also sees a lot of the camera with her fine violin playing and attractive features. The girls' older brother, Jim, plays keyboards plus guitar and seems content with his sisters as the main attraction.A few flaws, however, do exist in the program. Guest Mick Fleetwood's presence could be done without on three songs, including the band's cover of Fleetwood Mac's "Dreams". If there is a worst part of the whole, it is that Caroline's drums are under-amplified. While at the time of this recording, Caroline Corr had only been playing the instrument for seven years. In that short span, she had become quite a competent musician, and downright hits like a ton of bricks. Stories of her often having to replace drum skins and breaking cymbals are surely accurate. This is quite an accomplishment for such a petite young lady. As much a pleasure to the eyes as her sisters, a bit more time in the camera's eye for Caroline would be in order as well. Overall, though, this is a DVD deserving of a spot in the collection of any Corrs fan.

Summary: My Concert of the Year!
Review: OK, I'll admit it, I was first introduced to the Corrs during their 1999 Unplugged appearance on MTV... I have patiently been waiting for that DVD ever since, but settled for the first available one instead (Live at the Royal Albert Hall 1998), and I am not disappointed! Although the Albert Hall concert doesn't contain the contagiously rythmic "Radio," bubbly commercially successful "At Your Side," or the mystical Irish haunting and mesmerizing-blues sound of "Little Wing," BOTH sessions contain The Corrs solid-core-based originals "Only When I Sleep, What Can I Do, Toss the Feathers, Runaway, Forgiven Not Forgotten, Queen of Hollywood, and So Young." But, most surprising for me as a late-blooming Corrs fan, was the discovery and enjoyment of their earlier work from Albert Hall that reinforced to me my original fondness of their music style. Albert Hall songs such as "No Good for Me, I Never Loved You Anyway", and the Corrs' cover of Fleetwood Mac's "Dreams" all exemplifyy the simple, yet subtle passion and emotion of the music of these Irish siblings (three sisters and one brother). It also must be said that because of their good looks, it is almost too easy to overlook the depth and variety of their musical skills, both vocally and instrumentally, but this is where sincere fans can appreciate them most, time and time again. I wanted to see The Corrs in concert last fall in Duesseldorf, but the concert was sold out. This DVD will have to be my first Corrs concert, in the comfort of my living room, first row seat, until I am fortunate enough to reserve my seat at their next European concert. If you are an original, late blooming, or soon to be first-time Corrs fan, this DVD is for you. ENJOY!

Review: One day while flipping from channel to channel hoping to find someone or something to bring me back from the coma of which I found myself slipping into,a sound in the distant hit me in the face like a glass of cold water, as I sat up not taking my eyes from the set, there they were a group playing the best blend of Irish and rock music I had ever heard.so I asked myself, but what kind of music is it, I answered who cares,there a great group and the use of Irish instruments will blow you away, it's just great music.

Summary: The Best Irish Band since U2
Review: The Corrs are a definite worldwide phenomenon. This DVD features their first big gig live at Royal Albert Hall on St. Patrick's Day in 1998. It features an exhilirating experience and electrifying performances that proves that they are the Best Irish band since U2. Their music which is a combination of traditional violin driven Irish/Celtic music and modern rock exhibits the various influences that the Corrs had since they began performing as a group in 1990. This stellar concert is their jumping point to worldwide stardom.

Review: The Corrs were clearly more at ease during 'The Corrs Unplugged'. Still it was a great concert, with some nice jamming between them and Fleetwood Mac.
