Summary: Cannot disable the captioning on this DVD
Review: There was a problem with the "Keb Mo - Sessions at West 54th" DVD that I purchased. In the menu on the DVD, there is a setting for "Lyrics-ON" or "Lyrics-OFF". This is supposed to turn the captioning ON or OFF during the concert. However, the captioning is always ON and cannot be disabled. The Menu setting is ignored. I don't know if this is a problem with all of the "Keb Mo - Sessions at West 54th" DVDs or only with the one I have? While it is interesting to read the lyrics while he is singing, I find this to be annoying after more than one viewing. As for the concert itself, I found it to be very enjoyable. The guest appearance of Dr. John on two songs was a nice surprise. I've seen him in concert four times now but have yet to see him actually play electric guitar. During the concert on this DVD, he does play electric on several songs - and he's pretty good! I'm glad this show was finally released. Concert footage of Keb Mo was long overdue. If not for the captioning problem, I would have given this DVD five stars.

Summary: Great performance
Review: This concert is thoroughly enjoyable. Keb Mo' is a wonderful songwriter with a warm, appealing voice. He also plays a mean guitar. Although based in the blues, Keb Mo' transcends the style, offering soul/R&B and beautiful ballads, as well.

My only gripe with this dvd is that there are virtually no shots of Keb's guitar playing. As a guitarist myself, it was very frustrating seeing him from every angle but not able to watch what he was doing on the instrument. Perhaps some dvd producer or director with a bit of foresight could use the alternate angle capability of the medium to film the hands of the artist so that guitarists can watch the technique and fingerings if they choose to.

Summary: Old Time Blues
Review: This show is great with songs from his first three albums.Very relaxing and laid back.It must have been a treat to have been at the recording.Tight band with guest spot on two songs from Dr. John. This is one of the top five music dvd's I own.

Summary: This man is a genuis
Review: We hear far too little of Keb Mo. I sometimes think there is a conspiracy to hide this man's undeniable talents. Seriously - this DVD shows us Keb's doing what he does best, exuding pure blues. He is a wonderful musician and he has a magical presence. This DVD, ( while a little shabby on the production side) is well worth the money Try it!
