Review: I RECENTLY PURCHASED THE BOX SET,"ARCHIVES" WITH TWO DVD DISC'S. YNGWIE MALMSTEEN "LIVE", AND YNGWIE MALMSTEEN "LIVE AT BUDOKAN", AND THE LIVE ALBUM IS EXTRORDINARY. I'VE BEEN TO EVERY SHOW HERE IN SAN ANTONIO, TX. AND WHEN YOU WATCH IT ON DVD, IT'S LIKE YOUR THERE. THE SOUND IS CLEAR AND CRISP. THE CLOSE-UP'S OF YNGWIE'S SOLOS ARE BREATHTAKING, AND THE OVERALL SPECTICLE JUST BLOWS YOU AWAY. I'LL ADMIT, I'M A HUGE FAN OF YNGWIE'S MUSIC, AND I JUST LOVE ANYTHING HE CREATES, BUT YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE A FAN TO APPRECIATE HIS MUSIC. FOR EXAMPLE, MY FREIND DAVID WAS WATCHING THE DVD WITH ME AND WAS SURPRISED AT HOW MUCH HE WAS FASCINATED WITH THE WHOLE SHOW AND MEZMERIZED BY YNGWIE'S ABILITY TO PLAY.THIS WAS KIND OF ODD BECAUSE HE DOSE'T LIKE THE KIND OF MUSIC I LIKE, WHICH IS METAL, LET ALONE YNGWIE'S HARD-CORE SOUNDS.SO IT SURPRISED,AND MADE ME HAPPY TO HERE SOMEONE TRULEY ENJOYED THIS DVD.IT WILL SURPRISE YOU AND MAKE YOU HAPPY.AND MAYBE EVEN TURN YOU INTO AN YNGWIE FAN.

Summary: Yngwie Malmsteen-Live
Review: I used to play piano more than 12 years. I know music from A to Z. So I can say Yngwie Malmsteen is one of the most talanted(if not the most talanted)composers, and of course the best musician (guitar player)virtuoso of all times. His music is almost universal, everybody likes it. And his style is a very special one - "Neoclassical". Beautiful melodies,excelent performance.

Summary: best performence, bad quality
Review: I'm a fan of yngwie since 1984, and I'm sure he is the best remains on the world. His perform is excellent. But this is the poor production. .Bad angle, bad sound of mixing, bad close-up of the band members. If you like yngwie's perform. Please buy the Live in japan 1994. By the way, Yngwie should change his style or make some different from the past. The structure of his solo always the same notes. It just exciting but nothing. But I'm so admire his Concerto Live in Japan 2001. So DEEP.

Summary: Blown away...
Review: I've never seen Malmsteen live prior to purchasing this DVD. I knew he was great, but actually seeing him in action is just plain sick! He tunes the guitar while playing, and plays with his teeth numerous times throughout the feature. Only he could play a guitar with his bum and make it sound like something, and he does just that! Though you really have to be a guitar player to truly appreciate his performance, this is an excellent buy for any fan! The only draw back is that the camera angles and editing could have been done better by my 3 year old son, but Malmsteen still makes it look good.

Review: if you are a malmsteen fan, in my opinion, this is a great DVD to have in your collection! i'm a guitarist of 15 years and have went to the school of rock taught by yngwie, vai, paul gilbert, and george lynch to name a few. i also own my own video production co. when not working on music. in my opinion as an editor, the editing is pretty good, i liked it. the angles were good...some video was poor and very grainy.....like the 5th camera guy was using a best-buy bought camera. the sound is really not good: i was disappointed. for yngwie being so picky i'm surprised he let this out. you can hear stuff but it's not really enjoyable...since you "just hear stuff." it's muffled and low volume bothers me a lot. overall you will be happy if you want to add a newer video to your collection.

Summary: Good music, poor video
Review: It's a great video to have if you're an Yngwie fan but the camera angles are terrible making it somewhat irritating to watch. There are many shots that utilize a camera that is positioned way at the back of the audience meaning all you see is the backs of their heads with the band members being small blurs from a distance. The audio is fine and there are enough close-up shred-shots to pacify fans.
