Summary: This is it boys and girls!
Review: This has to be the best sounding DVD I own. The sound is even better than Roger Waters' In The Flesh DVD, (also worth buying!), which was the best DVD I owned till Hell Freezes Over.
I'm sort of dissapointed now 'cos I feel I've heard the best 5.1 Digital DTS Surround sound on DVD and its not going to get any better for me.
A word of caution though, there is also a version of this concert in PCM Stereo only and the covers of both look too much alike. If you buy this DVD elsewhere be sure to check whether its the 5.1 DTS or the PCM Stereo. This release has both and the stereo mix is also fantastic.
The instruments really do sound ALIVE. I've always heard other people talk about how great a paticular DVD is and how the players are right there with them. Well, I've never been convinced till I heard this concert. Its almost eerie to be so close! A great deal of care seems to have gone into capturing the acoustic quality of the guitars and congas. I have never heard anything like it in my life. And probably never will!
The songs performed on this disc are very well performed. The Eagles seem refreshed and eager to play after their fourteen year vacation. There is a certain atmosphere, (almost a positive aura if you like!), around them. The fact that they are sitting down for most of the selections adds a relaxed feel and really sets the stage. The songs range from a brilliant version of Hotel California and ends with a bonus DTS audio only track of Seven Bridges Road with all five Eagles coming through the five seperate speakers - its mind-blowing.
I can't stress how great this DVD really is - you have to see for yourself. Even if its the last DVD you ever get, which it might 'cos other DVDs won't even come close.

Summary: DVD Excellence
Review: I was amazed at the quality of this concert. My whole entire family and some friends who have watched this concert, it gave them an excellent idea of what music on DVD should sound like.
Way to go !!...

Summary: Eagles - Hell Freezes Over - DTS DVD
Review: Outstanding concert video! My wife and I are hearing instruments we've never heard before due to the DTS signal. This is a "must have" for an audio/videophile.

Summary: Your guests may never leave...
Review: If you want to impress your friends the next time you have them over, put on "Hell Freezes Over" and you can bet they will forgive your bad cooking. This DVD is an excellent production with a spectacular sound that will satisfy even the most discriminating audiophile. Even the casual listener will likely sit down to watch, and more importantly, to listen.

The DVD contains clear, sharp images, and good, unobtrusive camera work. As soon as you load the disc, you will be prompted to choose DTS or PCM. If your system is DTS-capable, just hit Play. On the other hand, you can still enjoy the PCM sound, but you will not realize the sonic experience that DTS offers. The DTS sound puts you in the front row seat and allows you to hear every nuance of the music. The sound quality on this DVD is neither too bassy nor too bright. Make sure that your speakers are well-placed so that you'll be able to spot the music as it is played, distributed, and reflected on the sound spectrum. One thing you will notice is that the scenes fade in and out instead of shifting seamlessly into the next. Somehow it breaks the momentum, but nevertheless, it keeps you firmly seated in anticipation of the next song.

Don't blame your friends if they ask you to play the DVD over and over again. To paraphrase the last line of "Hotel California," they can pause it anytime but they may never leave.

Summary: Boring!
Review: I still listen to the Eagles old/original CD's but they ruined most of the songs in this concert. The show is so slow and they sit in chairs for most of the concert. I told my wife they could have had photo cut outs or mannequins in their place and nobody could tell the difference.

Summary: One of the best in DVD-DTS
Review: This is fantastic for sound and the DTS experience. I didn't pick up on the selection and missed DTS the first time. What a disappointment to pay the same amount for lesser formats in other favorite groups!

I also own the cd and the vhs and questioned why I would buy this one. It is well worth it!

Summary: Definitely a TOP 10 DVD
Review: Great sound, great video. You'll be hoping for more tracks when you come to the end. This is also a great disc when friends come over and you want to showoff your audio system.
Oh yeah, the music is not too bad either!

Summary: The Eagles Come Alive...... (Sort of)
Review: After owning the CD for a couple years, I decided to buy the DVD partly becuase of the excellent sound I had heard that the DTS version had compared to the regular version. I was pleasantly surprised at the clarity of the picture and the crispness of the sound. IF you have a good TV and a progressive scan DVD player, the picture is unreal. However, you really must be a fan of their music because the Eagles could be accused of loitering onstage. They seem to be glued to their stools but finally let it out on a great version of Life in the Fast Lane. Aside from the lack of movement, the music is excellent and they sound even better than they did 25 years ago. Buy this DVD if you are a fan and want to show off your home theater, it will surprise and amaze your friends. As an owner of about 20-25 DVD's this has the best sound and picture of any of them! Definetely recommended but don't be expected to be wowed by the Eagles stage presence.

Summary: If You Like the CD, Get the DVD
Review: If you liked the CD, get the DVD. It is great to see the visible attributes of the emotion put into the musical CD. My favorite song is "Pretty Maids All in a Row", so it was a pleasure to watch Joe Walsh perform it. The transfer is very good -- noteceably better than the MTV runs of it (not just a matter of resolution, but of original filming).

Summary: have the Eagles ever played acoustically in your own home??
Review: Well, if you don't own this smashing DTS DVD, the answer is very likely to be "NOOO!!!"
Otherwise, you know what I mean!
I never though that with a few hundred dollars I could actually turn my sitting room into the MTV Unplugged Studio, but that's what technology does to your dwellings nowadays....well, if this is the future, I really believe I can live with it!!

a last few words, if you allow me:
If you know of any group that was ever able to improve their greatest musical achievement( Hotel California in this acoustic version) nearly twenty years later, please do not hesitate to let me know, I need to know!!!
