Review: A live performance from October 20, 1994, PULSE records the great psychedelic band Pink Floyd rocking out like only they can. Renowned for their hallucinatory special effects and lighting schemes, Pink Floyd goes all out at this spectacular (and very long) concert. Twenty-one of their classics are performed, including classic rock radio staples "Dark Side of The Moon" and "Wish You were Here."
know so many people that would love to make this purchase. Pink Floyd Pulse is one of the greatest concerts ever, with the best visuals and vocal performances. "Comfortably Numb" gives you a great experience with the perfect visuals, and the amazing guitar solo by David. Great Surround 5.1 Sound , digital. So I'm glad I own this!

Summary: Do not miss this show !!!
Review: Absolutely stunning, literally mind-boggling visuals. The cameras swoop around and yet always seem to be pointing at the right member of the band (or the backup singers) at the right time. David Gilmour's guitar playing.. well what can you say? He can make those strings sing, soar, weep, moan, and ring like no one since Jimi.. and he does it with such a totally effortless look on his face.. there are few guitar players on this planet who can equal him.. For a bit of fun - compare how Floyd looks today with how they looked in their 20s on the Pompeii Video.. these are guys in their fifties who are obviously having so much damn fun doing what they do, and they do it so well, like they can read each other with a simple glance across the stage.. Richard Wright and Nick Mason, while overshadowed by Gilmour's up front stage center star presence, are equally masters of their instruments.. There's not a missed note or a flub in two hours of video as they run the gamut through their long repetoire of spacy, searing, haunting songs.. If you're a fan of Pink Floyd, you must have this DVD !!!!!!!!!!!!

Summary: Peak Floyd - Pink Floyd at the apex....
Review: Despite what a Pink Floyd purist would say about a Pink Floyd tour without Roger Waters, the Division Bell tour had to be perhaps one of the most amazing musical events to have graced our tiny planet. The world will probably not see another production like it. As the Floyd memebers age, and their desire to embark on long tours diminishes, its more likely that you will see Gilmour doing more small venue events like the 2002 Meltdown concert. Waters continues to march to his own drum and may tour in 2004 (perhaps your last chance to see and hear a Pink Floyd number with full stage production). However, if you have the inclination to see what happens when you plug some of the best music created into a most amazing modern light show, you owe it to yourself to experience Pulse. Whether you are a fan of the post Waters Floyd or not, the imaculate fusion of light and sound in this production filmed at the end of the Division Bell tour is sure to impress. From the opening song, "Shine on You Crazy Diamond" to the encore of "Comfortably Numb", the show seems almost a dream of light and sound. Computer controlled lighting, lasers, smoke and props (yes the Pig does make a brief appearence) fill your screen as you soar through highlights of the Division Bell, a complete performance of Dark Side of the Moon, and highlights from other popular numbers in the catalogue. Gilmour is at the top of his game and proves it throughout the show. The last solo of Comfortably Numb left me stunned. Wright, and Mason do their part of course but it is Gilmour who really shines. You truly get the sense that this finally IS Gilmour's band after so many years of keeping the peace. The band is augmented by very capable supporting players such as John Carin and back-up singers featuring Durga McBroom. Tim Renwick stands in on guitar as well. About the only thing that detracts from this nearly flawless show is the dated stylings and antics of the percussionist and bass player. While clearly capable, their dress and behavior on stage smacked of Duran Duran, and looked imbicilic when compared to Gilmour's calm style. But hey, all you have to do is watch Waters remake of "The Wall" in Berlin to see that in spades. Jeez...what a nightmare. Despite this small detraction, Pulse storms on, never ceasing to impress, awe, and amaze. However you come about it, DO NOT MISS this show

Review: I agree with the previous reviews that the concert was excellent. And now that I've seen the disc, I have to say that they did an excellent job with the dvd.Any fan of Pink Floyd should really enjoy this DVD

Summary: where's the dvd?
Review: I don't know where all these other reviewers bought this dvd. Probably unofficial copies on ebay or something. But when dvds first started coming out around 1998 or 1999, Pink Floyd's Pulse should have been one of the FIRST music dvds! This picture quality is perfect. The video editing isn't bad. For the most part it isn't one of those concert videos where the camera angle changes avery half second. It might be like that once in a while, but it's mostly edited the way concert videos and dvds SHOULD be. There's a little camera trickery during the guitar solo in the beginning and the end of Sorrow and the beginning of Run Like Hell, but that's it. Nothing like Delicate Sound Of Thunder. The sound quality is pretty much what you'd expect from a concert that was filmed at a huge football stadium-sized venue. It probably sounds a lot better on video and dvd than it did if you were actually there.
Now the big question...WHEN will this be available on dvd? Why is it taking so long? Live At Pompeii is okay, but PULSE should be next! I think all these other reviewers must have homemade copies and probably got ripped off.

Review: I had the good fortune of seeing this live concert twice and this DVD is as good as it gets! Great song list, great camera work and superb sound quality. Pink Floyd take us on a journey through time to the very genesis of Floydian mystique, capturing the essence and soul of an extraordinary musical vision. Highly recommended

Summary: Wish you were there...
Review: I have seen quite a bit of concerts on DVD, but Pulse is by far the best. Maybe one reason is because I saw them on tour in 1994 and the concert is still the best I have ever seen. Even today with the advanced ditgital sound and video most concerts are lacking when on video. But this concert looks and feels liked you are there. And no you don't have to be stoned or tripping on acid to enjoy it, now if I were 17 I would say you had too, God I must be getting old. They play beautiful music and this concert is proof that they were one of the best live bands of all time.

Review: I have the Pink Floyd Pulse DVD. It is awesome. I had not been a fan of Pink Floyd until I bought the 2-CD set followed by the video. I couldn't believe the extra effort these people put into the show. Laser lights are synchronized almost perfectly with every beat! David Gilmour is awesome on guitar and is spotlighted several times. This is a must for DVD! I don't think you'll ever see a concert like this one. Music-wise, it might be the most coherent and accesible Floyd ever. Show-wise, you will wonder whether you are looking at a hundred-million dollar action movie or a CGI-enhanced video. Neither of those. It's a concert film with what I can only describe as the best pyrotechnic effects, the best laser effects, the best lightning system, the best sound system, and one of the world's best bands on stage. You won't believe your eyes. The greatest DVD you will ever own!!!

Summary: Pulse DVD - I've seen it before...
Review: I just got my copy of this DVD today. I bought this DVD back in 1995, but it was a lot bigger then. Yes folks, this DVD is nothing more than a copy of the Laserdisc. That's okay though...I can finally sell my Pioneer LD Player. My Pulse laserdisc was the only reason I was keeping the player. Until the official Pink Floyd mastered DVD comes out, this will take care of my cravings. It sure is more convenient to watch than the old Laserdisc. I am not disappointed with the video or audio quality. It will have a proud place in my DVD collection.
