Rating: Summary: Good documentary, but to little live performances Review: I was really exited when I first discovered that there is a dvd available about Elvis's Gospel music. Although the 2-dvd set was a great documentary, I expected more... I wanted to see Elvis perform "He Touched Me, Amazing Grace, Bosom of Abraham, I John", etc. Maybe mosty of his gospel songs are only on cd... If there could be a dvd with scene selections covering Elvis's gospel music, I will be the first to buy because Elvis sings Gospel music wonderfully!
Rating: Summary: Elvis, the man who knew the KING Review: If you want to get to know the soul of the real Elvis Presley, "He Touched Me" is a must. To hear the personal interviews with the people who worked and preformed with Elvis, tell of his kind and giving spirit it will bring a tear to your eye. His real friends tell the story of a much different Elvis Presley than the books drag through the dirt. They speak of a down to earth warm and giving person who deeply loved God and cared about people from all walks of life. "He Touched Me" is sure to touch you.
Rating: Summary: Real Elvis Review: Not the elvis the media threw dirt on all the time. It shows the real elvis like you've never seen before. Interviews with the people that new him best. Great performances. A must have for Elvis fans. If you want to ONLY see performances this is not what you are looking for. It is the true story of his life WITH video performances. It always has elvis gospel music in the background the whole time so its not like its boring.
Rating: Summary: Good Concept - Poor Execution Review: The concept is good- Elvis singing gospel with commentary. What will leave Elvis fan very dissapointed is the fact that his songs are cut off for the sake of commentary. This is a common complaint. What could have been a great DVD is now severely flawed in it's execution and will leave Elvis fans exasperated and pulling their hair out. Considering that his Gospel music was the only music that won him Grammy awards and is arguably some of his best and most inspired work- Elvis fans deserve better. Email or contact the licensing Executive (currently Irene Houston- 800-238-2000) at Elvis Presley Enterprises (Corporate Division)and make your request that this be re-released as a Collector's Edition with full length songs.
Rating: Summary: AWESOME Look at Elvis! Review: This documentary is the most enlightening and informative look at the REAL Elvis Presley that I have ever seen! It tells so much more about the MAN than any other documentary, book, magazine, etc. has ever told about the IMAGE. Elvis once said that "It's hard to live up to an image.", and although he's been captured by society as the "image" of the "King of Rock 'N Roll" (watch this DVD to find out what he has to say about that!), there was so much more to him than simply his "image". He was a man who loved God, loved gospel music, and had a deep, genuine faith. This DVD captures the essence of the REAL Elvis, allowing fans and spectators alike to see more of who he really was, how he really felt, and what he really valued than anything that's ever been produced about him before. If you like Elvis, you'll LOVE this DVD! If you think you know Elvis, you need to watch this DVD! If you love God and HIS music, you need to get this DVD so you can enjoy the enormous talent and soul-felt performances by the legendary Elvis Presley as he sings about his God and his faith! Elvis was a man blessed of God with a tremendous talent and a world of opportunitiy to share it in, but he was also a man who was imprisoned by his fame, and tortured by the loneliness that this caused. He wasn't perfect, but he was blessed, and he knew it. Watch this DVD to see how real his faith was to him, and how desperately he leaned on it to make it through the difficult days of his "Fame and Fortune", his days of "Hurt", and his struggles as he sought "Peace in the Valley". This is a wonderful documentary! Don't miss it! Get yours today!
Rating: Summary: The Real Elvis Presley Review: This is the real Elvis Presley. I never really knew Elvis until I watched this documentary. It reveals his true heart and soul. He was only human, he loved his brother and the only King there ever was with all his heart and soul. It made me glad that I was an Elvis fan. If you really want to know the real Elvis you must watch this documentary.
