Rating: Summary: Great blues from some of the best artists of all time! Review: Excellent concert with great film work and sound. One of the best concert dvd's that I own. A must have for all blues fans!
Rating: Summary: Not so good Review: The editorial review talks about amazing musical moments and that something magical happened. Well don't believe all this. It's something of a unrehearsed below-average concert.
The reason to buy this DVD is Albert King. Footage of Albert King is very rare and he was in great form that evening. He brought his own bass player with him and his performance was the highlight of the concert. His guitar duel with Mick Taylor was good. Taylor played some nice blues licks throughout the night. But the rest of the concert is not so good. Etta James (looks drunk) , Buddy Guy, Junior Wells (skips a few lines) all seem a bit off. The C.C Rider jam was almost embarrassing to watch.
John Mayall played piano and harmonica as usual. The Sippie Wallace performance was ok. The sound and picture quality is very good though. And the price is cheap. But don't expect a great concert like the editorial review describes.
